  1. Looks like a good time to invest in heavy equipment manufacturers (CAT, Komatsu, etc.) now that Venezuela has reached the “machine guns and mass graves” stage of socialism.

  2. If suspicions are correct that PM Butts will change Canada’s electoral system to ensure continuous socialist governments then Canada will soon be like Venezuela. Ontario under McGuinty and Wynne is already to the point that no matter how much corruption there is the Liberal government there gets away with everything.

  3. The socialists will steal money wherever they can find it.
American Airlines writes off $592 million trapped in Venezuela

American Airlines Group Inc on Tuesday said it has written off more than half a billion dollars in revenue stuck in Venezuela because of currency controls.

The South American country’s socialist government had compelled carriers to sell tickets in bolivars but made reconverting the sales into U.S. dollars difficult. Globally, airlines have around $3.7 billion trapped in Venezuela as a result of its 12-year-old currency control system, the International Air Transport Association said in June.

  4. It doesn’t matter what country it is, Socialism always plays out the same. Some just take longer than others to get there.
It always starts with some academic idiot saying, try it, we’ve never implemented it properly.

  5. Just remember everyone, there is no need for a referendum on electoral reform in Canada because Trudeau won a majority with less of the popular vote then the previous government did in the previous election. That’s a strong mandate to alter our system forever BUT the previous government’s victory was proof our system is broken and undemocratic.

  6. He’s copying the master — Barack Hussein Obama, who’s been ruling by decree since last year/

  7. “How did it collapse?”
    “Slowly, then all at once”
We are about to see the all at once phase.

  8. You misspelled “Rachel Notley” . . . Oh, this is about Venezuela — so sorry, easy mistake.

  9. I call on our Government and our new PM,Justin Trudeau to leap to the defence of our beloved neighbor and ally,Venezuela.
Send ’em the same as we’re sending to the UN, 2.65 billion,Justin, not a penny less. Now that our manufacturing center is going full bore again, thanks to Justin and Kathy, we have billions to spare.
    mememe HMMM….”solidarity forever”……

  10. From Venezuela…

… “the first big Constitutional crisis exploded today, in Venezuela as the Electoral Hall made a ruling that sets up a huge confrontation between powers.”
    The Hall ruled:
1- The Venezuelan National Assembly is in contempt of the court for not obeying its decision to not swear in the Deputies from Amazonas State.
2- Because of this, says the Electoral Hall, any decision made by the Assembly so far and in the future is completely illegal”

“The regime has decided this noon to ask the National Assembly to grant it a decree of “economic emergency” for 60 days, extendable to 60 more. The objective is to face the “economic war” which is what made it lose the election. That economic war modality has never been explained but we were told it was waged on the regime by these nasty capitalist. So it is time to put them under real control.”

  11. Maduro has a pen and a phone and he’s going to use them, where have we heard that method of ruling being used recently.

  12. Ken (Kulak): Bingo!
Socialists are not primarily Venezuelians or Canadians or anything else for that matter.
They are socialists first and foremost.
We in Canada just have much more than average and a little less than Venezuela.

  13. Wonder how the oil for medicine program is going for the Venezuelans/Cubans? The Cuban health care system didn’t work out well for Hugo.
A buddy of mine was in Cuba last year and said it appeared there was a shortage of food. Maybe a Mo Strong oil for food program would help both sides?
Socialism is working well for both countries. The Cubans couldn’t keep those retched Belarus tractors running and are now back farming with oxen. Hey it’s sustainable. Maybe they could teach the Venezuelans how to farm…….

  14. Hmmmmm, did Hugo put all his eggs in one basket? Funny how the Canadian left is absolutely over their latino cousins. They run like rats and are as quiet as a tree, when their comrades faiil miserably

  15. I see Obama is being sued by the petroloium firm over his blocking the Keystone pipeline to appease the eco-freaks

  16. No mention by the bbc that the Marxist looters running Venezuela also have
multiple foreign currency exchange rates on offer. Those with access to the
“presidential friends and family rate” must be very content with life.

  17. So … this is what happens when one OPEC member unilaterally floods the market with oil in an effort to destroy the competition. Small wonder that the first to bite the dust is a glorious Socialist nirvana … Now how will they PAY for all the FREE STUFF that the lifeblood of Capitalism provided ?

  18. So … this is what happens when one OPEC member unilaterally floods the market with oil.

19 hijackers from Saudi Arabia brought down the World Trade Center,
Oil hijackers from Saudi Arabia are now bringing down wall street.
The Saudis are our friends……….. Right..

  19. A lifetime of living like Spicoli, baked half out of his mind, may have finally caught-up with the “genius” Actor. His calculus on this one wasn’t thought out too well … Drugs KILL ! Whether you “believe” in the War on Drugs or not.

  20. @ Exiled Maritimer from a Maritimer:
The gift of commies keeps coming and coming for other peoples’ money. Communism is a proven failure, why do these morons keep persisting to bark up that crooked tree?
