Hollywood specifically, and the Left generally, have a long & disgraceful history of attempting to rewrite history. Only “Progressives” could so boldy use the word “Truth” to name their new film, which provides a fictional account of the Rathergate scandal in late 2004. For those not familiar with this most embarrassing episode in the history of the mainstream media, Dan Rather and his team at CBS News, put forward a story that was intended to destroy George W. Bush’s chances of reelection. However, a group of bloggers and their readers quickly realized that the “Killian documents”, at the heart of the story, were fake. This eventually lead to Rather resigning in disgrace, along with some key CBS executives.
In a recent podcast of “Need to Know”, Powerlineblog.com cofounder, Scott Johnson, carefully dissects the lies in the film “Truth”. More about the film can be learned here, here, and here. CBS refuses to accept advertisements for the film. This quote from a CBS spokesman explains why:
“It’s astounding how little truth there is in ‘Truth,'” he said. “There are, in fact, too many distortions, evasions and baseless conspiracy theories to enumerate them all. The film tries to turn gross errors of journalism and judgment into acts of heroism and martyrdom. That’s a disservice not just to the public but to journalists across the world who go out every day and do everything within their power, sometimes at great risk to themselves, to get the story right.”

IMHO one of the reasons Trump is so popular with citizens is that he openly attacks the MSM and those confrontations often expose how ‘reporters’ manipulate the message.
The idea that Dan Rather would be rehabilitated should not surprise. Progressives control media and work within that structure. Their access to resources to do what they do is almost unlimited. This process is not limited to the ‘reporter’ but extends up the ladder to ownership. Let us talk crony capitalists. I watched this Powerline story play out in real time, and it was the first
time I realized the potential for the Internet to serve as the great BS
detector. In just over 24 hours, enough typesetters, Computer font
designers, typewriter experts, document experts, etc., all but proved
it to be a forgery.
The icing on the cake was when someone printed a transparent overlay using
a box stock brand new copy of MS Word with default settings. Adjusted for
size, it was a perfect match; superscript, headers, footers, margins, tabs,
proportional spacing, etc.
I am surprised that Rather is not arguing that IBM PCs existed, and were being
used by the military in th early 70’s.
There will always be exceptions of course but generally we are usually very careful around people who over-tout their honesty and integrity. For example, we will be wary about a store called ‘Honest Ed’s’ suspecting that Ed has had a checkered past at best.
So it made me smile to see this film title TRUTH.
It reminded me of the the tendency to speak louder to a person who knows no English.
A former hard left ecomanic friend used to send me links to a site called TRUTH OUT.
Dan Rather is evidently self-identifying as a TRUTH teller.

Here in Progressia (SW BC) all one has to do is look at the adverts on certain stations to reveal how they are struggling for real advertisers. Glowbull and CTV2 Victoria both rely heavily on government propaganda ti fill their time slots, especially during their newscasts. Social engineering ads predominate. Pathetic. Nannystate nonsense.

expertise to conclusively demonstrate the mechanics of the forgery and then he publicized their findings.
