  1. I often teach in a classroom which is on a much-frequented route from Arts to the Student Centre, so I hear them chatter as the go by. I can assure you that a very substantial fraction of Memorial’s students are complete and total ignoramuses, and have no wish to be anything else.

  2. I see the antarctic ice is getting thicker even while the worlds despots, tyrants and dictators will be holding their little meeting in paris to come up with more regulations and maybe a treaty or two the entire eco movment is based upon lies and junk science

  3. Sigh.
That reminds me of a petition someone sent me the other day to petition our Premier for something or other.
I had to point out that if you are going to petition a person, you should at least spell his/her name right.

  4. I assume these are Progressive Journalism Undergrads, attempting to correct the wrongs being
    perpetrated against all Righting Students.
    These guys won the election.

  5. This isn’t unusual in the least. We have hired so many grads from various programs over the years and the lack of grammar and spelling ability is astounding. You almost want to ask them how did you ever graduate university when you can’t even write the most basic business letter in correct english and syntax. And yet our wonderful teachers ask for more and more and more each year to do a downright pathetic job on the whole.
    Sad really.

  6. Dammit Oz, you made me spit coffee all over the display.
As for the Kidiots, I’d say collage would be a waste – no fundamental academic skills (like grammar and spelling) and obviously no capacity for logically valid thought (the eternal parasite syndrome AKA entitlement delusion). – Pack ’em off to trade school so they can learn math, useful life skills and b self supporting – otherwise I see more parasitic degreed drones with a useless/errant knowledge base straining the social welfare state – unemployable except by government creating more redundant unionist jobs
    – here you see the future ranks of the public sector unions which will eventually implode this unsustainable kleptocratic system – Outside of engineering, science, business & economics, secondary education creates a flood of eternal subsidized drones indoctrinated with worthless subject content.
Zombies are not naturally occurring, they are manufactured, and university pseudo-sciences serve this purpose.

  7. OK, Oz, add me to the list for your sideline selling computer cleaning products.
The sad thing is that one can be sure that few, if any of those kids were in science or engineering programs; they were no doubt in the arts/journalism streams i.e. those whose language skills should be the most proficient and exactly the ones with the most time to waste and least concept of personal responsibility

  8. That would make a cute wall poster.
Interesting that the sign appears to be professionally made by the CFS(Can.Fed.of Students) an organization to which mandatory membership is required if you want higher ed in Canada.

  9. Yes ,but everyone is succeeding ! From a knuckle dragging ” troll”. Only a high school education and I have learned nothing since !

  11. Teaching math today: A logger cuts down a forest and turns the wood into chips to burn in a power plant that used to burn coal. Please summarize why the dead animals that used to live in the forest are really better off because they were going to die anyway from global warming. Express your answer in degrees C.

  12. No, we don’t want these useless bastards infesting the trades, thank you.
It takes a certain mindset, character and perseverance to complete the training and apprenticeship to become a ticketed tradesman, somewhat similar to what it takes to become a pro athlete.
There are NO excuses in the trades, you work hard and do the job right,or you’re out on your ass. The pansies who currently waste their and OUR time and money in university degree programs that can only lead to government funded jobs are NOT wanted in the trades.
We already have enough trouble with communist Union agitators, don’t need neurotic sissies in the mix as well.
The proper place for social justice degrees is Starbucks or Tim’s or any other FF place.

  13. ” Teaching Math in 1960s: A logger sells a truckload of lumber for $100. His cost of production is 4/5 of the price, or $80. What is his profit? ”
Must disagree, I took math in the 60’s and it was very rigorous.
