Bloody hilarious. Thank you so much.
CBC radio, though still politicaly biased to the left, is not without merit. CBC TV not so much.

So what does National Cash Register have to do with trains?
(that’s a lot of ATM’s to go missing)
Maybe next time they’ll ship the whole train Fedex and get a tracking number.
(tracking number, get it?,,,,,)
Uuhhmm how do you lose an entire train ? Do we have our own “Bermuda triangle” Emilia Earheart here ? Right here in Canada ?
Seriously how do you just lose a train?
I guess it’s possible since fully loaded 747 seem to just dissapear as well .
It’s a spoof folks….
They didn’t lose it, they lost track of it.
Captcha should be CRAPtcha, there’s got to be a better way!
is this one of those, you can’t get there from here things.

Lead Stories’ Trendolizer identified the story as trending on social networks Friday, September 18, 2015 — a day after it aired on CBC Radio’s “This Is That,” which is billed as “a current affairs program that doesn’t just talk about the issues, it fabricates them.”
I have to admit I took the bait pretty easy, have worked for companies that ship by rail, and occasionally get the”is this car still at your location because we can’t find it ” call. But I have yet to have them lose one entirely
Running a railway is logistics based and logistics these days is a matter of having the best IS and software in place. Seeing how Bill Gates is this railway’s largest share holder perhaps a “lost train” is the result of a windoze 10 rail app patch not in place?
From the photo it looks like they found a CP car. Maybe they’re on the wrong track.
Good catch!
This story is funny.
“a current affairs program that doesn’t just talk about the issues, it fabricates them.”
So how are we to distinguish this from all of the other CBC programs?
I bought this story completely.
The factual errors in the write up seemed completely understandable.
For example, the phrase “National Canadian Rail” should have tipped me off …but in my defence, fact checking errors, plus spelling and grammar mistakes are so common in the media that I put this down to the usual, and expected, sloppy and lazy efforts of a modern reporter.
“This is That” is a funny spoof of a common events show. They are pretty good at getting calls from upset listeners. When I first heard the show 3 years ago switching between AM stations while driving, they were discussing with the president of the “Calgary Downtown Association” regarding a petition to have the Calgary tower removed because it was an eyesore. It wasn’t until the following weekend, flipping through stations again that I realized I was being duped.
That’s a relief. I was afraid the train may have been the victim of an alien abduction, and could be, at this very moment, having an anal probe.
“So how are we to distinguish this from all of the other CBC programs?”
If you ignore them all, you don’t have to!
A runaway train!!
Sounds like a scene out of Grand Theft Auto II !!
Q: Why can’t a railroad engineer be electrocuted?
A: Because he’s not a conductor!
