  4. Re the ‘DEFUND, DEFUND, DEFUND, DEFUND, DEFUND, DEFUND… Stephen Harper and all his man friends’ item from a few days ago. Yes I emailed the CBC Ombudsman. Did anybody else get a similar non-committal, “you will never get an answer from us so please f*** off” response?

  10. I’ve seen journalism fester at the bottom of the barrel at CBC, and other MSM sources , especially since the 2015 Cdn Fed. election campaign went into gear. This story however takes the cake. The CBC is comparing Canada to countries such as Syria and Sudan for ”per capita” acceptance of refugees.
    My niece, a registered nurse and medical technician worked in a refugee camp in Sudan, I’d guess about 10 years ago. She worked with Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontières) a Swiss based non profit organization. If you look at the chart for Sudan, it looks very impressive, however the immigrants were mostly from surrounding countries who arrived there to live in refugee camps that were financed by the Red Cross, the UN, World Vision etc. In a letter that I have in my archives, she described conditions as ”having seen young kids wandering out into the desert only to be eaten alive by wild dogs.”
    And to think that the CBC is actually ridiculing Mr. Harper and comparing our immigration policies here in Canada to that of Sudan’s. I have but one message to the CBC on this story. Who let the door to the Fourth Floor unlocked??

    Jennifer will send it to the person responsible for that program.
    They will tell you that you are wrong. Sometimes they get really snarky.
    They will refer you to the ‘ombudsman’ if you think you are right.
    The ombudsman will then tell you why you are wrong, and if you don’t agree, you can appeal to the ‘executive editor of ethics’ ( BTW, that was Esther Enkins previous job ).
    She/he will tell you that you are wrong, and if you disagree with that, you can appeal to the ombudsman.
    The ombudsman’s office at the CBC is set up to run interference against people who would dare to question the CBC.
    It is a carousel of confusion.
    This judgement is classic.
    Can you figure it out?;

CBC takes measures to mitigate his conflict when his broadcasting more clearly intersects with his Foundation role. When there is a conflict, a declaration to the audience can help. ”

  16. A classic piece of propaganda; even having a pretty woman deliver the message. I agree with most of it although spoilt a bit by a few distractions in the argument. There are so many factions involved it’s difficult to put the blame in any one place.
    This is what happens when you give a know-nothing a peace prize.
    This is what happens when rich muslims propagate the real islam.
    This is what happens when religious sects collide.
    I think the Syrian people are the only innocents in the fight.

  21. I received a similar response that said the GM would get back to me in about 21 days. I expect that no reply will be forthcoming prior to the election, effectively keeping any scrutiny of the CBC from becoming an issue. I’m still waiting for similar inane productions starring Justin and Tommy Two Nations.

    I also contacted the ombudsman. My reply seems to indicate that they are taking my concern more seriously.
    I write to acknowledge receipt of your email. The first step in the process is to share your complaint with the relevant programmers, who have the right and responsibility to respond. I have therefore shared your email with Jennifer McGuire, General Manager and Editor in Chief of CBC News. If you are not satisfied with the response you receive you may ask me to review the matter.
    Programmers are asked to try to reply within twenty working days.
