Like many of her peers, Ms Toynbee thinks that voting for the state to confiscate even more of other people’s earnings is somehow an act of altruism. It’s also, conveniently, presented as an excuse for not using her own considerable resources personally, directly, to help those she deems deserving. And if a well-heeled leftist bangs on week after week about how terrible unequal incomes are and how something must be done urgently – and then says she won’t do what she insists is morally imperative unless the state forces her to do it – this isn’t a resounding affirmation of her professed principles.
In her righteous “whiteness” Ms Toynbe displays 2 obvious symptoms of the mental disorder known as dogmatic leftism –
1) Chronic Hypocrisy (the do as I say not as I do lib-left reflex)
2) Pathological sense of entitlement ( The concept of leftists demanding we pay more tax is directly equated to their ambition to carve a larger chunk of the redistributed largesse for themselves)
3) inherent sociopathic tendency (Ms. Toynbe believes the hammer of the 4th estate(media) exists to deceive, manipulate and bend people to her will -this is closely associated with megalomania which leftist politicians display).
My only statement to ms. Toynbe is that I never agreed nor voted in any referendum to subvert the civil liberties of the liberal democracy I live in into a authoritarian fabian dystopia. Personally I don’t care what your beliefs are – believe in rainbow unicorn land if you want, knock yourself out – just leave me out of your utopian schemes. If you persist in either defaming me for my resistance or attempt to use the club of the leviathan state to coerce me into supporting/funding things I believe to be insane and self detrimental, we will be taking this culture war hot – at that point you have to decide if the mental disorder you mistake for idealism is worth defending or sacrificing everything for – because I and millions of other “angry villagers” will be storing the utopian bastille with torches, ropes and hot tar.

After a recent church service during which a nice Lady provided a talk on the latest effort to generate an interest in providing extended support for Aboriginal children to escape their culture of deprivation. As she passed by the church kitchen where i was drying the coffee social dishes I asked her to stop for a moment.
Thanking her for her presentation I said “she will find greater acceptance of her funding plea if hte presentation did not bring forward the shibboleth of the Residential Schools. I pointed out further the original individuals who received mistreatment were now in their seventies or beyond and the majority of Canadians remaining had noting to do with the government policy; funding and events of the crimes.
The reaction you will anticipate is an immediate thrust towards the misuse of social justice et al and bringing into my first observation a new discovery. The nicely said diatribe stated the Residential Schools situation is scientifically proven to bring Trauma lasting for seven (7) generations.
When I again expressed my concern again regarding the damage to her funding plea it fell on deaf ears. The shibboleth is still to be used as dogma moving deeper into expanding the victimizing culture.
Naturally nothing really positive devloped from our conversation, except for a small possibility the nice Lady will mention the “comfrontation” she experienced to someone who may rethink their funding reach-out. Assuming those seven generations include generations yet unborn, how exactly does one scientifically prove “trauma” for people who do not even exist?
A pretty cogent case could be made that there are too many blind sheeple; who simply obey the state for the sake of not being singled out of the compliant herd…
In any case, in addition to Occam’s salient observations Ms Toynbee is merely using her bully pulpit position within the media complex to ‘guilt the population’ into surrendering more of their income via the taxing authority of the state.
In short, she supports state sanctioned theft of income to NO GOOD purpose; and has become an advocate of brigands or one who lives off pillaging others.
In former times, the use of excess cash to ameliorate social conditions was known as CHARITY and was an individual VOLUNTARY act.
Ms Toynbee’s borg like thinking is just another useless rant to engender the thought that ‘resistance is futile you will be absorbed by the state’. The screed she is venting is merely more ‘Bolshy’ propaganda at the expense of the liberal democratic state.
Perhaps her real reason for the rant is that the Conservatives swept the election and the voters
voted for less theft and more freedom which would drive any lefty into paroxysms of froth railing against the democratic result. For all her considerable wealth she is quite a poor loser.
