As the Catholic Church has been pummelled for allegedly covering up pedophile abuse, I wonder now if the media will go after the scare mongers with equal veracity.

Unfortunately, no one on earth knows who he is except for the most intense of the global warming ringleaders (your Al Gores, David Suzukis, et al.). I doubt many folks even realize (or care) that the UN is involved in the first place.
The kind of news you wont be hearing about from the talking heads or the birdcage liners/fish warpers
