At some point the Gun Registry sent serially numbered stickers to put on guns without a serial number. They are around here somewhere. There never made it onto the guns.

Dad had it drilled and tapped for a Williams peep sight, and I could put 10 rounds in a ragged hole at 20 yards one could cover with a dime. Winchester eventually bought the company, and not long after closed it down. Wickedly accurate rifles that still draw a good dollar.

Guns are already manufactured with serial numbers. This scheme is a UN boondoggle to employ more bureaucrats. It will require importers bringing guns into signatory countries (e.g. not Canada, so far) to pay for laser engraving of an additional number to be used on documents that already record the unique manufacturer’s serial number of every gun. The laser-marking equipment is very expensive, so the anti-gun ninnies hope it will help kill the gun trade and make private ownership of guns too expensive and too much trouble so there will be fewer gun owners to vote against their ineffective gun-control measures. Guns will be imported illegally instead and the black market in firearms will grow.
