  1. The Obama State Department Smart Diplomacy(TM) strikes again!
U.S. Ambassador Mark Lippert was slashed in the face and hands Thursday morning by an attacker armed with a razor blade, just days after a top State Department official’s comments caused outrage throughout this close Asian ally.
However, there were also concerns about possible South Korean anger against American diplomats after recent comments by U.S. Undersecretary of State for Politics Wendy Sherman.
Ms. Sherman create outrage across South Korea when she suggested last week that South Korean demands for reparations and an apology from Japan over the World War II-era enslavement of South Korean women, many for sex, were simply political.
“It is not hard for a political leader anywhere to earn cheap applause by vilifying a former enemy … But such provocations produce paralysis, not progress,” she was quoted as saying.
Lawmakers and political leaders expressed outraged at Ms. Sherman’s comments, suggesting they were insensitive and ignored the cultural pain many South Koreans feel over the issue involving World War II-era Japan, which also had ruled Korea since 1910.

  2. NEW YORK, N.Y. – The nation’s largest public school system will observe the two most important Muslim holidays starting next fall, a policy change hailed Wednesday by Islamic leaders in New York City.
Under the new policy, the city’s 1.1 million-pupil public school system will close on Sept. 24 for Eid al-Adha, which is also known as the Festival of Sacrifice. The holiday of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan, will be observed during summer school in 2016.
“Hundreds of thousands of Muslim families will no longer have to choose between honouring the most sacred days on their calendar or attending school,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said in his announcement.

  3. It just occurred to me that the commie mayor of New York handed a big slap in the face to the 3,000 victims of 9/11 and to their families.
What the Sam Hill is going is going on south of the border when two scum bags are elected to high office.

  4. But those shopping carts may have had pork in them, meaning they would be unclean for a muslim to touch. If the carts were unclean and he touched them, then he would have to go home and beat his wife. This is being done to protect the women. sarc

Are Canadians unwilling to pony up to help “battle climate change” or are they sick of being played for suckers?
“On the one hand,” Mr. Nanos said, Canadians “want to reduce greenhouse gases, and on the other hand, they want someone else to pay for it, to bear the brunt.”
Let’s just make carbon taxes “revenue neutral?” No wait – let’s make the rich, I mean “polluters pay.” Oh that’s all of us? On both counts? Really? Look ma, no guilt:

“The head of an organization representing Estonian-Canadians has accused the federal Liberals of “political gamesmanship” for opposing the chosen Wellington Street site for the Memorial to the Victims of Communism.
In an open letter Thursday to Liberal MPs Stéphane Dion, David McGuinty and Mauril Bélanger, Markus Hess, president of the Estonian Central Council in Canada, said members of his community took “deep offence” to their statements last week urging the federal government to relocate the memorial.”
