  1. What utter drivel. The key sentence in the article is this one:
“…After decades of poor water policy, “there was no resilience left in the system.”
Droughts occur regularly in the western ME. Population growth and severe drawdown of the aquifers have been depleting its water sources for decades. None of this has anything to do with climate change. It’s all about lousy water management, population growth and an ongoing civil war.

  2. Well, at least this expert is from Penn Sta….. never mind.
Typical tendentious reporting: “unprecedented drought.” Where are the numbers? Worst since when?
I looked at reporting on the Sao Paulo drought, currently being breathlessly reported on CBC. I see headlines like “Worst water crisis in history”. Well, at no time in history were 30 million people living in such close quarters. The drought, in fact, is the worst in 80 years. That means: IT WAS WORSE 80 YEARS AGO. Of course “climate change” figures prominently in the CBC reporting.

  3. Great idea. Jobs for terrorists.
Give ISIS climate quality control jobs.
Any manipulation of the global warming charts, or false temperature readings,
    and heads will roll.

  4. Terrific. My nephew was recently accepted by Penn State. Like Dennis Prager says, I’m going to urge him to drink heavily those 4 years.

  5. Off topic-
Lowell Green on frank discussion of Ontario Liberal Government’s new sex education program. Now, at cfra.com

  6. Once again the Fabian Socialist is stoking the fire, grooming the gullible for the shearing that is coming via Agenda21. Just re-read Dr.Lawrence Zillman book “Living with Agenda21 “. It’s a short read but fills in the blanks quickly.
Clinton signed on to the UN’S socialist scheme by executive order, no congress or Senate. Obama is full steam ahead.
I also.read in the Canadian Press where the CPC is quietly canvassing the provinces looking for ideas and solutions to take to Paris for the AGW gong show.
Looks like I get to keep saving my political donations as they have officially bought into the scam.

  7. Might as well face the facts: when the sky is falling, almost everything is affected.

  8. Universities are increasingly becoming welfare for the Professoriate. “Research” like this is simply carrying water for their fascist / socialist thug clergy of the climate inquisition. Mindless parroting by the media is what you would expect from Court Eunuchs. All parasites of humanity.

  9. Simply overpopulation. Something like 25 million people in Syria whereas a few hundred years ago there might have been a million. All these are sucking out groundwater, chopping down trees and overgrazing. It is reported that the Arabs rode from Suez to Gibraltar in the shade of olive trees – no more.
Whoever wrote this article is a pathetic moron or at least a moron with an agenda.

  10. Next up: Global warming molests children and murders puppies. You don’t hate puppies, do you? DO YOU?

  11. Attempting to fight climate change(the climate has always changed and always will change) did indeed spark the Syrian Civil War. What part of fighting climate change sparked the Syrian Civil War? Turning corn into ethanol did it.
Syria and many other Arab nations have socialist policies which kept food prices artificially low, and certain food exporting nations like Canada, the U.S., and Australia provide a lot of food and foreign aid via food supply. Turning feed corn into ethanol made food expensive.
Turning corn into ethanol to fight climate change drove up food prices globally, making it difficult for governments like the Assad government in Syria(Yemen is another example) to subsidize affordable food. People starved, triggering protests and revolts leading to civil war and coup d’états.
The EnviroMentalists have a lot of blood on their hands and here they are trying to lay off their direct culpability in the ethanol debacle at the feet of skeptics.

  12. Why not give those ISIS guys jobs as climatologists. That will solve two problems.

  13. Man, and you wonder why people like me don’t even read climate change crap anymore, although I guess I read/skimmed this one. These people are getting desperate it seems. With all the billions of dollars on the line I guess if I was one of those waiting to cash in I’d be getting anxious to get on with it too.

  14. climate caused ISIS??? You’re right it is a cult and they accept only the deeply delusional as spokes-thingies

  15. Slurp, slurp: “The consistency of climate models made the eastern Mediterranean a great place to start looking for possible connections between human-cause climate change and conflict. The Middle East has already seen decades of drying, which is expected to intensify for the next 20 years and beyond as a result of climate change.”
Ah yes, the Syrian drought of four years is “unprecedented.” Presented, of course, without evidence. No big deal, it’s just the lynch pin of their argument. Apparently, while warming isn’t the cause of drought elsewhere, it is in Syria.

Those Jihadists gallivanting throughout the region isn’t the reason for the Syrian/Islamist civil war – don’t you know – that’s what the models tell us. After all, those models have been so accurate in the past. Oh right, when you rely 100% on models which prove to be wrong then well, “we look at lots of things besides models – the fact they’re wrong, given no model is 100% accurate, proves we’re right.” Yeah, 0% right.
The only human induced climate change is the political climate.

  16. “…you can draw a very credible climate connection to this disaster we call ISIS right now.”
I can also draw a credible connection between David Titley and a rubber room right now.

  17. Ooz, yup, the USA and Kanada are the only countries in the world that can grow food, the middle east is the only place there is oil, and I have a couple bridges for sale. I will sell you the second one for 1/2 price if you buy the first one.

  18. Climate change causes all bad things EXCEPT those bad things caused by smoking or G.W. Bush.

  19. New Study Says Climate Change is a religion, not a science
Penn State voodoo priest David Titley is an idiot.

  20. “I also.read in the Canadian Press where the CPC is quietly canvassing the provinces looking for ideas and solutions to take to Paris for the AGW gong show.
Looks like I get to keep saving my political donations as they have officially bought into the scam.”
I agree. That is disgusting, and to think they had me fooled. No better than the liberal Mulroney. World around is collapsing and these idiots have nothing better to do than get sucked in by the biggest scam in history.

  21. Climate change has nothing to do with MUSLIMS KILLING EACH OTHER. Muslims will kill each other for just about any reason. A bad hair day, a camel throwing a shoe on a neighbors sand dune, looking under the tent at my smelly sister. You see, lots of good reasons to start WW3, not Climate change. Leave Climate Change to the pro’s.

  22. Hmm. Let me see. Civil war breeds terrorism and terrorism is caused by lack of job opportunities, and civil war is caused by Climate Change(TM). Aha! We can solve the Middle East crisis: fire all the meteorologists and climatologists and replace them with ISIS terrorists!
In terms of the policies and tone, would anyone notice a difference?

  23. And do not forget hurricanes and tornadoes!
There was a web site devoted to listing the more than 500 causes and effects of
“Global warming / climate change.” My personal favorite was rape epidemics.
Too much rain was evidence of global warming, as was too little rain. It was
the same with tornadoes and hurricanes.
This is lot like the radical feminist driven child molestation witch hunts back
in the 90’s. They relied on a list of over a hundred symptoms compiled by some
unqualified “Therapist” that included; pisses pants, is hyperactive, is shy, is
extroverted, is moody, is everything you could imagine! A child with any 5 of
these so-called symptoms was considered normal 4 decades ago.
This is the spaghetti against the wall method of modern pseudo-science. That
and having 100 signatures on your “Consensus” paper in lieu of actual peer
reviewed research. This is why Michael Mann will be reduced to penury after
Dr. Timothy Ball and Mark Steyn counter sue his fat ass. He is never going
    release his research.
