Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Considering I come from the dependant county mentioned in the story right below… I’m impressed. In Wellington that would be breaking the law.
Can’t be in Alberta that ignition system not safe enough.

No safety officials, no permit, no admission fee…

The clip is from Thailand
Here is a longer version with more ‘launches” and a spectacular “fail” (at 13:40)

I only watched it once but something seems phony about that video.
Wow–amazing!!!!!!!
My guess is that the Chinese had that technology in or about 1200 AD!!
That. Was. Epic!
Actually pretty impressive. Nice, stright flight, and successful parachute deployment. Went a lot higher than I expected when it first took off…
Yes, but, but, but,… the carbon footprint!

Thailand is no third world country, it has better and more affordable dentistry, way superior transportation systems compared to ANY Canadian city. It has not turned away from the religious principals that formed it and still revers their tie to past history ,their King. Thailand is climaticly very similar to Mexico but everything works, the people are not defeated serfs and there is a joy in living missing in many “first world countrys” The Rocket festival is just one of many really fun vaguely religious festivals that make Thailand so interesting.
