  1. Some years ago I knew many Winnipeg Jews. Many of their parents or grandparents came from Saskatchewan. How are you going to keep them down on the farm after they’ve seen Winnipeg?

  2. They missed the Wapella connection to the “Seagram” empire. The family of Bronfman homesteaded in the Jewish settlement at Wapella. It was home-brew from the Moose Mountains (Kate’s home turf) that started the Seagram whiskey Empire.

  3. The Canadian movie “Hounds of Notre Dame”(1980) I thought was an excellent portrayal of early life and hardships faced by Saskatchewanians. One of my favourite movies.

  4. interesting article, and would help explain the western Canada roots of the Jewish lady I dated some years ago. He father did a lot of work with the Indians in southern Alta and Sask.
