“The Ontario Liberal Party has decided to reimburse taxpayers the $10,000 Peter Faist was allegedly paid to wipe government computers.”
So, to be clear; the emails which in no way tied the Office of the Premier to the Gas Plant debacle, which really wasn’t that big of a deal ($2B), and in no way was political (2 seats), didn’t exist at all and wiping the drives (cost of a CD for someone who knows how) wasn’t to rid the systems of the emails.
But just to be on the up and up, the Libs will pay the $10G…cause you know, innocent and all.

“…cause you know, innocent and all.”
Things like guilt, honesty, or concern for future generations don’t matter in the GTA.
And she thinks that will absolve them of all liability?
And of course the “announcement” comes on December 23rd when everybody is really paying attention to stuff like government announcements.
Paying back money they shouldn’t have paid for illegal activity is not good enough.
Sadly, the sheeple will forget this un-event, if they even recall the scandal at all.
By the time this government has run it’s term the people of Ontario will be clamoring for an “iron mike harris” type.
I’m stuck in Ontario for Xmas. What’a place. The vitriol exhibited toward the private sector is really quite astonishing.
They’re just doing whatever it takes to keep the finger in the dyke till the next election.
I see what you did there…
Clearly, worried about St Nick leaving them a large lump of coal to burn in their gas plant… 🙂

Last place I’d ever put my finger…
I shudder at the thought….
Wynne’s wifey is hot, though.
Well, that was nice of them.
I would like to give them something in return, like the $23,000 they saddled me with.
It’s Christmas and I feel like being generous.
James Walker?
What alternate universe do you live in?

I’d draw a couple of contrasts to this most obvious admission of significant vulnerability, if not guilt, to wit:
– in the midst of his most difficult moment, so far, as prime minister, Stephen J. Harper (according to the RCMP affidavit) ordered that all e-mail evidence in respect of the Mike Duffy business be preserved and turned over to the police;
and,
– the most senior member of Mr. Harper’s staff, out of his own personal resources, essentially paid back ALL of the monies owed to Canadian taxpayers. For which the gentleman concerned also paid, in one fashion or another (a great how-many-angels-can-you-fit-on-the-head-of-a-pin distinction, of course, for what passes, I guess, as an “independent” “news” media in this country), with his job and something of his reputation.
As it happens, there was a time in my life that I used to wear suit and tie to work. In exactly two instances, under entirely different and unrelated circumstances, someone spilled a beverage (in one case, with alcohol, and in the other, without) on my suit. In both cases, however, the response was the same: “Oops, sorry: here’s a twenty; now, run along and get your suit cleaned.”
This Ontario Liberal pretzelization is nothing more than my anecdote: “Oops, sorry: here’s a twenty; now, run along and get yourself a Timmy’s”.
This will not work, in any way, shape or form: it was astounding to me that Bob Chiarelli said that the Auditor-General was out of her leaque on electricity, when he, himself, is the one out of his league (the Auditor-General is completely correct; the subject matter involved is not conducive to political oversight, actually).
I am equally astounded that the Ontario Liberals would try such a stunt, even given their standards: who are their legal advisers? I am even more astounded that Trudeau, Jr. would have tied himself to this boat-anchor: as I have said before, Trudeau and Wynne have taken all the wrong lessons from the recent Ontario election.
It’s chrystal clear to me that Wynne WILL be “Reford-ed”, either by her own party, or by the Ontario electorate. She must go, and the sooner the better.

Wynne’s wife? But why is there never anything about her husband, is he just cast out into the cold? Does he not deserve to speak of how unjust society has been to him and his children? Then again, perhaps he’s not worthy of our concern? Just wondering.
I still believe Wynne is one of 3 twins.

Hopeuly everything with be quire in Bedford Falls
I’m long past of being “surprised” by any group of politicians (and their advisers) throw at us.
I still marvel about the mindless that can’t process the painfully obvious.
I’m thinking the highest number (percentage wise) of people that got took by the “Nigerian Millionaire” scam, in Canada, came from Ontario.
.
Ontario needed a Margaret Thatcher. Instead we got a Imelda Marcos.
Beautiful… and so true. Even better, they got a lesbian Imelda Marcos.
Ontario is doomed. Cut ’em loose at Thunder Bay.
$10G’s is just the tip of the iceberg, how about paying everything back on this list !
http://mothersagainstwindturbines.com/2014/05/29/marilyn-taylors-list-of-liberal-scandals-growing-rapidly/
there are not very many large brains left in Ontario.
If I still lived in Ontario I would be pushing for a separation of anything north of Barrie into a new province!
Hell they won a majority last election what’s stopping them from doing anything…..
Now you have gone and spoiled my breakfast.
Are they also going to repay the $1 billion they blew on gas plants to get elected?
My comment on the article;
Yes! Premier Wynne learned well at the feet of former Premier McPinochio.
This lesson obviously; is that directions from the Liberal Party of Ontario/Canada must be followed exactly as prescribed in the Constitution of the Liberal Party of Ontario/Canada.
The Constitution of Canada was only written for us little people who eat “popcorn and drink beer” and encourage our young girls “to drop their prom night dresses”.
Well $10,000.00 here and $10,000.00 there is not much, unless the $10,000.00 becomes a Million. Of course if the Millions become Billions in the annual monthly budget deficit it might just come to the attention of the little people.
This would mean the Liberal Party of Ontario/Canada will have to do something else to encourage a Political Riding or two or three to re-elect the Liberal Party of Ontario/Canada.
Unfortunately this might also lead to situation where the Liberal Party of Ontario/Canada actually has to give another $10,000.00 back to the little people.
Nothing to see here.
Move along.
Pretty pathetic ploy.
And will any money actually return to the taxpayer?
Or will it be pay back 10 000 and steal another Billion?
Which reminds me, didn’t the Liberal Party of Canada promise to pay back the $40 million stolen by them through the add-scam operation?
David Southam said: “This will not work, in any way, shape or form”
David, I hate to disagree because I share your distaste for the Wynners, but I think it will work. No one is going to know about it. We do because Kate posted it, but we are not really representative of the majority Ontario voter. Therefore because no one knows, it will all grind along quietly through the vast machinery of the Ontario Justice system. It will be utterly ignored by everyone who doesn’t have the file physically on their desk.
Even the Conservatives won’t trot it out at election time, because they don’t appear to really want to win an election. It seems to me they want to remain in Opposition where its safe, and let the fire fall down upon the Liberals.
But there won’t be any fire. Because the Liberals own the media. Fire is reserved for Conservatives.
“I am equally astounded that the Ontario Liberals would try such a stunt, even given their standards…”
I’m not at all. After ten years of corruption, and still getting returned to office, they’ve got the “standards” of the average Ontario voter pretty well figured out by now.
This scheme is akin to a bunch of bank robbers, stealing a car for a getaway vehicle, then robbing a bank. After that they pay the owner of the car for the gasoline used in their crimes.. Classical Liberal thinking.
