Bush quote, several users edited Neil Tyson’s wiki page to include details of the quote fabrication controversy. The fact-loving, evidence-weighing, ever-objective editors of the online encyclopedia did not appreciate the inclusion of the evidence of Tyson’s fabrication. Not at all…

We can’t be so stupid as to, by now, not clearly see that the Left scrubs inconvenient and supremely unflattering truths from their narratives.
I’m reminded of the extra feet in the old Stalin purge era photos of the remaining politburo.
Tyson, like Obama, is a (self-appointed) member of the priestly class. Members of the priestly class have seen their way beyond such mundane concerns as facts and logic. He lives on a higher plane, untroubled by the hobgoblins that haunt lesser creatures, such as you. He, like Obama, is a maker of fact and value. You are a subject, oppressed by “facts”, “objectivity”, and what you quaintly call “reality”. He makes the world with his likes and dislikes. He is just that good. It’s a fact. Get over it.
You should check out “Climate Change Deniel” on Wikipedia. Shall we say very one sided.

There’s only one statement from Adler’s otherwise excellent piece with which I disagree.
“…and we know Tyson is much smarter than the average politician.”
Smart people don’t just make stuff up. It remains unclear that Tyson is so much smarter given his history of serial fabrication.
I love reading about these Wikipedia stories because they mirror my own experience with Wikipedia editors. They are almost to the very last one fanatical left-wing radicals. They view Wikipedia as some sort of platform through which they are going to change the world by hiding the truth and by exaggerating falsehoods. The head honchos at Wikipedia sit by and do nothing while these little radicals run about all day long editing and deleting. It is the left’s version of utopia, where knowledge and facts are all relative concepts and are less important than the bigger agenda.
Wikipedia is not an encyclopedia. Never has been. Never will be.
For very fact based knowledge, such finding the standings in a tennis grand slam, it has some limited use. Things such as that.
But its value quickly deteriorates for anything else.

He said that and he calls himself a scientist? Molecules including long chain hydrocarbon molecules do not atomize, they vaporize and then ignite as they combine with oxygen. Also if you’ve changed someone’s view “360 degrees” he’s pointed in his original direction.
Only the science challenged would consider this guy a scientist.

Fact is that his TV show is boring and pedestrian, the graphics don’t save the day either. After watching the show it is hard to believe this guy’s so popular, but then again, I’m not so sure that he is popular outside of the media blowing sunshine his way.
Tyson is over rated. If he has no problem making things up, you can be sure his CV has been inflated on the same way. I think he’s a total bore who speaks down to people. Sorry Neil, your comic book graphics and condescending manner are hardly fit for first graders.

Dare I say it’s more than just “little fabrications”. I really view the left as ones who play rather haphazardly with facts, experiences, current observations and societal ‘truths’ all in the endgame of their dogma. Now, the right doesn’t skate away on this totally either without some thin cracks. I often cringe when I see these poor tactics utilized by those displaying conservative ideas…. but not can be as brilliant as, say, Kate. If I wasn’t married…
