Good Graffiti?

I generally abhor most graffiti, especially the mindless “tagging” that is clearly not art and could be done by a 3 year-old with a spray can. But this example, spotted in San Francisco recently, made me smile:

  1. I feel like I’m trying to see the same picture in the cloud that you see… and I ain’t seein’ it.

  2. It says that it is no one’s business but mine whether or not I like a Pepsi or Coke or Cream Soda, for that matter, in the evening.

  3. And elsewhere in upbeat graffiti news:
“42-yr-old graffiti ‘artist’ dies after being electrocuted by third rail in NYC subway station”
A police source said he had been arrested 13 times since 2008, including this past February for criminal mischief, graffiti and trespassing, the Post reported.
His casket will be white so that it can be covered in graffiti.

  4. What Larry Bennett and Oz said. This is exactly where all this dictating of personal life choices is going. The next thing you know hamburgers and s*x, other than virtual s*x, will be punishable by re-education camp.

  5. I see,
    PMPO HTC
    which means nothing to me.
I still don’t get it, what is it saying??

  6. Geez, people. The top part reads —

No, of course I wouldn’t eat 17 packs of sugar, because it would be dry and virtually flavourless. When I drink that much sugar in a glass of pop, on the other hand, it not only quenches my thirst and gives me a sugar ‘lift’, it’s also very tasty.

    The bottom part says —

Plus, many flavours of carbonated soft-drink beverages, including colas and Mountain Dew, have caffeine added to them during the production process, which helps get me through a long day of tagging.

  7. Gee thanks.I thought taggers were mindless criminals but now I understand they are on a much higher plane of existence than I am.

  8. Yeah simple things….
“They” say don’t sweat the little things…..
Truth is little things can drive ya nuts or be very satisfying…
Like that fly er two that lands on my bald head when I’m trying to type…
…the four (4) flies stuck to that brand new fly paper….
    Life is good….

  9. I believe it is not so much the graffiti, but the lack of interest by those who the ad “tries” to target.

  10. Who is to say that no one would might eat 17 packets of sugar? What Ken ( Kulak ) said; when you create intrusive government, it is inevitably captured by people who imagine themselves to be superior to everyone else, and are eager to coerce others behavior.

  11. I think the best deterrent to tagging is when some one is caught, they have spray paint ‘is a fag’ behind every tag they can find.

  12. We give the hummingbirds a 1:4 ratio of sugar and water – they love it.
None have reported any problems with diabetes or obesity at our feeders. 🙂

  13. FIFY – None have reported any problems with diabetes or obesity at our feeders – who’ve lived!

I saw that episode of Saturday Night Live too. 🙂
Anyway, I don’t get this either.

Actually, hummingbirds are quite metabolically interesting. Because of the high sugar consumption, they basically get metabolic syndrome every evening, with fatty liver, fat infiltration of other organs, fat everywhere. Sugar has that effect. However, the metabolic rate of hummingbirds is so high, by morning it has burned off all the fat. So it would be like a human eating sugar for a week (which would generate loads of blood triglycerides from liponeogenesis from high dietary sugar) and then fasting for a week to live on what is essentially a very high fat low carb diet (stored triglycerides, comprising three long-chain fat molecules and a glycerol, basically half a sugar molecule). Or similar to a bear, feasting on carbs in the late summer to fatten up for a long high-fat, low-carb winter.
The problem with modern humans is that they eat high carb, especially high sugar, all year long without a metabolic winter.

  16. Actually they breed here, as we’ve a forest beside us and a field of wild flowers – every year. I spot their nests. We get lots hummers every year.
You can tell the babies, juveniles and the genders of the adults. We get returnee as they hit the feeders with both feet firmly on the rims of the feeders, babies, newbies tend to stay flying while enjoying the sugar water, until they become comfortable with the feeder.
As a good tip about ants. We wrap a fly paper on the fixture right at the wall, wrapped around like a roll, in one spot – given you have a side or overhang fixture as we have. Works very well, no ants or other crawlers.

  17. That’s because they’re on a sugar high.
    (You’re killing them, man!:)

  18. I still have no idea what the graffiti says ( and so do a few people it seems)
Why won’t the smart ones who figured it out tell us what it says???

  19. Well must have an never ending supply of them, since their here from May to Sept and have been for years.
