Oh yes of course rats feel regret – and guilt and remorse as well – particularly at the way they spread the plague and have competed for life-sustaining resources with humans and failed – deep regret they did not do more damage – and in this dystopian world becoming more dystopian by the minute, there are just enough self-loathing misanthropic “progressives” to become rat enablers and politically aid in the rat quest to defeat human domination of the animal kingdom and realize the golden age of rodents. All they need is a little help from their direct descendants – the progressives.
