I realized years ago that if the weather of the 1930s in North America were to happen again – ten years of drought with record breaking heat waves causing a gigantic dust bowl – the alarmism would be off the charts. As it is one winter without snow in California is proof to “President Obama’s top climate advisers” that man has ruined the climate.

I recall a cartoon, in Playboy of all things, it featured a coupla troglodites(cave men), holding clubs, standing inside the mouth of their cave, looking out at pouring rain.
The caption read:
“We never had such lousy weather until they started using them damn bows and arrows.”

Have “climate scientists” always been the panicky type? These guys seem to exemplify the worst of the “chicken little” syndrome.
They work in the field,gather the data,yet run about shrieking about disasters which never happen,and over the decades,never seem to learn from their mistakes.
It’s as though paranoia was a prerequisite for that career.
We’ve seen these same exposes of fear-mongering climate experts from the late 1800’s, early 1900’s, 1920’s,1930’s, 1960’s, 1970’s, all there to see in the media’s archives,wrong on every count, and they’re still shrieking the same BS in 2014.
And our politicians apparently believe it!
Does The Black Rod have any insight into those business’ in the west end of Winnipeg who’s water supplies froze underground in january?
Are they still frozen from the recent climate inflictions?
Well at least they claim that this was a human caused set of events … Whatever they may have been and gone.

As we’ve heard over and over lately, such extreme, weird, freaky weather has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE!
There has been ENORMOUS damage done as a result of “climate change”. But it isn’t to people or property. The REAL damage has been to science itself which has allowed itself to become politicized as it has. I guess the politicians felt they could increase their standing by highjacking “science” but instead they have sullied science for their political goals.
A problem is that most scientists are stupid, and probability and statistics are too hard and too arcane for them.
Even the great William Feller in vol. 1 of his An Introduction to Probability Theory and Its Applications
commented that even he was surprised by the problem of the distribution of recurrence times in coin tosses
(actually the zero crossings distribution of cumulative totals) and added that most professionals if asked, and
if they hadn’t studied the problem, would guess wrong.
And that is for a stationary process. Where the nature of the process is unknown, though guessed to be stationary,
well, Manitou and the Farmer’s Almanack are more believable.
My maternal grandmother put it all down to artificial Earth satellites.

My mother-in-law is 98 years old and a retired prarie farmer.(She still ives alone in her own house and uses her own snow blower-tough old bird) Farmers live and die by the weather and so she remembers almost 90 years of weather. Her take on “climate change”. Bullsh*t she says. There isn’t anything happening now that hasn’t taken place in her recollection.
I remember around 198o when it was cold and they blamed the Russians , they said they were altering the whether with radar. The Russians response, not us, if we could change the weather we would fix ours before we wrecked yours
Back then they blamed everything on the Beatles.

Your anecdote about the 98 year old farmer is a good one. Because of its obvious importance to their livlihood farmers pay a lot of attention to the weather. On the other hand people not so tied to the weather have zero memory about weather events and tend to believe whatever is being passed off as fact. A couple of years ago when we had a nice winter more than one city person I talked with couldn’t recall the brutally cold winter we had just endured the year before.
I somehow have strange feeling they are all told to say,that rain is caused by GW,that snow is caused by GW,that lightning was caused by GW.Why?Are they being paid extra by someone to keep this GW BS going when everyone but the weather forcasters know there is no GD GW..Now it is CLIMATE CHANGE..Shouldn,t these people be held accountable for the BS they spread every night on the weather channels.And when do we get Al Gore to give his Oscar back?
Everyone looks back on the scientists of 50 years ago and scoffs at their audacity – how could they possibly have made such bold predictions when they could not possibley have known anything, with their rudimentary instruments. The primary arrogance of the present is the failure to realize that in 2064, we will enjoy the same fate. My guess, and can be nothing more than a guess, is that Al Gore will be utterly beclowned. I’ll be happy in my grave.
