Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I think nothing captures the essence of a situation as well as a good cartoon. This one is, to me, particularly powerful in the simplicity of the drawing emphasizing the huge irony of the situation.
What a great illustration of the truth. I love it
need one for chopping down the forest for wood pellets.
Ontario is fast becoming a bird free expanse of land run by political enviro wackos with brains reduced to green jelly blobs.
This cartoon is too true.
Who is the author / artist? Do they have a regular op-ed?
I’ve had this graphic on my hard drive for a while. And if you had asked me where I got it, I probably would have said SDA.
Best depiction of the current watermelon lunacy that I’ve ever seen. Deserves to be spread far and wide.
is there a real link to this cartoon, I ignore twits
Breaking News
Redford has just resigned as premier of Alberta.
Breaking news. . . . Alberta is saved, socialist leader resigns
Incredible, she fell on her sword and didn’t fight to the bitter end. Must be guilty of something, despite the CBCs sympathy.
Good Riddance to Ally the Redfraud
Allison Redford. . Putting the arrogant socialist in the Progressive Conservatives in Alberta.
Who wants to take odds that she doesn’t pay back the promised expenses now?
Greening the country for sure, green plants grow real good on blended bird.
After three years of litigation, a Maine Superior Court decision has finally found in favor of wind turbine neighbors complaining about excessive noise from three nearby 1.5 megawatt GE wind turbines. Although citizens across the United States living near wind turbines are complaining — including lawsuits against wind turbine operators — this is the first court case where a state judge has found against a state agency charged with enforcement; the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.

One cannot ignore what one is.
The sad reality is that this one cartoon encapsulates the entire
debate over “Renewable energy.” THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS
RENEWABLE ENERGY!
It is an oxymoron with an emphasis on the word MORON.
Electric cars are a pipe dream. As is the case with solar and
wind power. Anyone who sees these as a viable form of energy
production make Forest Gump look like Albert Einstein.
Anyone who believes in windmills and PV panels is an absolute
idiot! He has no concept of mechanics, science or physics!
Don’t let trees or hydroelectric dams get in the way of your fantasies.
Rd-It appears to be by Josh, of cartoonsbyjosh.com. His work features quite prominently on the popular climate blogs Bishop Hill and Watt’s Up With That. Somebody owes him some credit, I think.
Here’s one of his best on this subject:

Renewable energy sources for electricity around the world
http://www.csmonitor.com/Photo-Galleries/Infographics/Who-has-the-highest-share-of-renewable-energy#805999
@North of 60: Most people don’t even think about hydro electric power generation when using the term “renewable”. But hydro electric is the most common “renewable” energy source in the world. It could be an even larger share if so called micro generators were allowed in rivers. But rivers must be allowed to “run free” and the removal of existing dams continues…. the insanity of the so called green movement.
TEAR DOWN THAT ENGINEERING MARVEL CALLED THE HOOVER DAM AND LET THE COLORADO RIVER RUN FREE!!!!!
We could run some power lines from China, they have plenty of coal powered plants, and building more each week.
Labor would be cheap.
It is impossible to have a serious conservation with brain-dead
morons who fail to understand that solar power, wind power,
protovoltaics and electric cars cannot exist without the
government reaching into the pockets of the taxpayer in order
entice companies to manufacture these items and consumers to
buy them.
Even with Chinese mass production and government subsidies,
PV’s are prohibitively expensive. Why is it that of all forms
of energy (Even with the bribes,) solar and wind power are the
most expensive forms of energy production?
The trees and dams line are totally incomprehensible! I agree
trees are renewable, but hydroelectrics? Damn near every
place we can situate a dam in America already has one, so it
is unlikely to provide more than the tiny percentage of
power production that it is generating today.
Energy is not renewable. It is created by conversion. Any
idiot with so much as a Jr. Hi science class understands this!
These “Alternatives” will never be more than small fraction of
the total energy produced because they are hideously expensive
and obscenely inefficient compared to traditional sources.
Try rebuilding megawatt level steam turbines, and changing a
747 GE engine in a 35mw CoGen plant in a paper mill. As a
Millwright and an electrician, I have done this and more!
North of Havana, if you want to advance clean power production,
I suggest you champion nuclear power. It is the only viable
form of energy production that does not produce CO2. It is also
the only form of energy that would make the electric car viable.
Renewable implies self sustaining. The closest thing that comes
to mind is a perpetual motion machine. There is no such thing
as renewable energy!
I suggest you start your education in mechanics here:
