Via email;
Today on John Gormley’s show, I heard that the University of Regina is adding foot baths to their washrooms and having a Muslim prayer room to “accommodate” their 800 Muslim students.
Via a grapevine, though it isn’t a secret apparently, a Muslim company has just won the contract to provide housekeeping and dietary services to Saskatoon District Health. The current 450 people so employed with the previous company lose their jobs and may apply to the new company.
The District will also add prayer rooms.
Rumour has it that there will be a mosque membership subsidy of $10.00/hr for the Muslim workers. If that is true, it would indicate the kind of Middle-East oil wealth buying influence as it has in Europe and Britain.
From following the goings on in Europe and Britain, my first question is how long before pork is no longer offered on the menus prepared by this group?
If they deliver home care services, what about going into homes that have pet dogs? I’m not sure what the contract covers in full.
Or maybe, for a time they’ll have some kuffar workers who’ll do that.
I could see how this would facilitate a claim of needing to import “workers” from abroad to fill some of the positions. a way around the new federal guidelines.
The M.B. may have a major setback in Egypt but their going like gangbusters here.
I thought things would be quiet until their new mosque is completed and they took over the new neighbourhood surrounding it. Evidently, I was mistaken.
As you may be aware there are two large mosques planned for Saskatoon. One is the Amahdi, who are peaceable, modern to some degree, and persecuted badly in the M.E. and Pakistan. The others hide behind them to deflect away from discussion about issues.
The other mosque is, I believe a M.B. affiliate. I noticed their web page is scrubbed very clean, hard to tell, but they do mandate that grade 7-8 girls wear the Saudi abaya. To me that is a give away clue.
Canada may be 10-15 yrs. behind Europe and the U.K. but we’re catching up fast.
Since the present government in Regina seems complacent in allowing aboriginal children to taken over by totally some incompetent tribal run Child Services, (Amnesty International could do a press release on the torture of that recent case), so I doubt they’ll deal with this issue in Education or Health or anywhere controlled by the politically correct bureaucracy.
If they won’t safeguard aboriginal children’s lives and health due to the risk of being called “racist”, I doubt if there is much they would stand up for.
Just sharing some observations.
I can’t verify if any or all of these observations/rumours have merit. The comments are open for feedback, corrections, clarification, whathaveyou.

“If they won’t safeguard aboriginal children’s lives and health due to the risk of being called “racist”, I doubt if there is much they would stand up for.”
It didn’t help that Prime Minister Stephen Harper has tarred all of the people who worked, in good faith, in the Aboriginal Residential School System with being guilty of systemic abuse by apologizing for the generally unproven abuse.
How can any Canadian cultural norms in any educational system be maintained at all without accusations of suppression of specific non-standard cultural expression after this fact? If any institutions which receive federal/provincial dollars do not actively support minority cultural initiatives, they will be accused on this basis of suppressing that culture, cultural genocide, as apologized for by Stephen Harper.
It’s the new normal, get used to it.
If such turn out to be true, I suggest everyone who reads this blog, email the Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer video’s posted ove at BCF (Blazingcatfur)to each and every Dean, instructor, professor, and all administrative support staff, at the University of Saskatchewan and any other universities that are submitting to Islam in the name of cultural competency and/or health and safety concerns, along with an email expressing why installing footbaths is in fact being Sharia Law compliant and submissive to Islam.
It’s important to note that these indoctrinates clearly state that the highest expression of cultural competence is to bend (accommodate is used as an euphemism) to those visible minorities in a community by adopting/accommodating/normalizing their cultural practices.
These students are not socially or economically deprived, or being discriminated against by not having a footbath. Let them know that the purpose of the footbath is for Muslims to cleanse themselves from any and all contact with infidel non-Muslims-it’s an act of bigoted racist religious supremacy against every other human being attending, visiting, working or teaching at the university, and that they are literally dhimmi’s submitting to Dhimmitude (“a person living in a region overrun by Muslim conquest who was accorded a protected status and allowed to retain his original faith”).
Saskatchewan has always been a model of backwardness…why change now? The present little resource boom isn’t much compared to what’s going on across the southern border. As well as across the western border.
This is just another reason why investors will never trust the backward province. The leftist culture is too engrained. The US and Alberta have the momentum to carry past the present little experiments in leftism. Saskatchewan never gained that momentum.
Saskatchewan has a lot to answer for, spreading the seeds of leftists filth far and wide.
Where the hell’s Brad Wall in all of this?
Heh, probably playing the banjo (not very well).
Can’t wait for the first time they refuse to hire a lesbian. The HRC would be beside itself.
welcome to thee awakening, it ain’t lefty politicos, it ain’t neocon politicos, it’s politicians in general, and even more so, public employees (beaurocraps)
“…If they won’t safeguard aboriginal children’s lives and health due to the risk of being called “racist”, I doubt if there is much they would stand up for…”
Not true.
As a matter of fact, they will stand up for quite a few things: celebrating diversity, caring, sharing, healing, stewardship, embracing our differences, dialoguing, snot, drivel, pablum, and baby-shit.
This is way over the top, this is Canada where all people are said to be treated equally. Why are Muslims allowed to have prayer rooms in universities or work places in this country where we have taken the Christian religion out of our schools and frown on using the name of God in public gatherings?
Time to take a stand against any and all inequities in this regard, having people with whom this country has no history, settle in this country or in some cases use this country as a safe haven, which has the Trudeau Charter telling us we are all equal while some are being treated more equal than all others. We have freedom of religion but religion has it’s place in places of worship,we are not a theocratic nation. The Trudeau Charter and Multicultural policies is slowly taking this country to a fractious mess and a dangerous one. We will not have a cohesive society without which we cannot have a strong united country.
“…Why are Muslims allowed to have prayer rooms in universities or work places in this country where we have taken the Christian religion out of our schools and frown on using the name of God in public gatherings?…”
Because (multiple choices allowed) Canadians are: cowardly; stupid; selfish; uncaring; ignorant; too comfortable; etc…..
Where are the atheists on this? If it’s something Christian, the atheists come out of the woodwork to complain and take action in court to shut it down. I think it’s time Christians started remembering the ass-kicking Jesus gave to the merchants and money-lenders who were defiling the sanctity of the Temple…
Brad Wall has proven himself to be nothing more than NDP-lite. Until the pushback begins from mainstream society, I fear that these types of assimilation techniques will continue. Time for the Crusades once again!
We are here.
The problem is, with all the overt hatred and bigotry on this site streaming towards muslims from so many that call themselves christians, we can’t get a word in edge-wise.
This not hatred or bigotry, it’s about having a cohesive society, keeping religion where it belongs, in places of worship and the private home. Canada is not a theocracy where religion rules in every facet of life from home to school to workplace.
Are Christains and Jews allowed special compensation even for their holy days to cut off during work and school time to pray? Is this a road we should be going down given all the turmoil around the world with one common link?
Are these foot baths paid for by public funds just for Muslims, or can we infidels use them, too?
A few years back, my former employer had to hire more people. But since the employer had a bad reputation in our particular field, those who did work there before did not come back, and we had a massive influx of Muslim workers.
It wasn’t long before a prayer room was requested. The management allowed it, much to dismay of the work force and the union.
One Muslim complained that how come they do not get their holidays recognized like the traditional holidays and his friend (I believe he friend was the rabble rouser) replied, don’t worry it will happen.
At that moment I realized, even tho they wanted respect, they did not want to earn it, they want it given. They don’t want equality, they want superiority and they will use our laws and decades of PC brainwashing to their advantage.
They can make up their prayers at the end of the day.
The funny thing I noticed with the vocal ones, they take advantage of an individual’s ignorance of religion and can make themselves sound very theologically savvy. But when confronted by someone who has a knowledge of theology, both Christian and Islamic, they play dumb.
But I can see the day come where they will have their way and this society of ours will have to tip toe around their ideological mood swings as to prevent some type confrontation.
This a war that has been going on for centuries, we just don’t know it.
Wow!! It doesn’t take much to get a mob going does it. I hate the aggressive invasion of islamic values into our culture probably more than anyone, but how about some substantiation of these allegations before we get the pitchforks out.
This isn’t a news service, but a blog. If one of my long time readers is hearing these allegations, that means thousands are, and publishing them for comment is as good a way as any of sorting the truth from fiction.
The seeds for the independent religious schools were planted by Christians in the 90’s. They got funding for religiously based independent schools and these schools were umbrella’d into provincial school divisions.
This opened the door to other religions. It also took a lot of professing Christians out of the regular school system.
Don’t blame the Muslims for being able to read the school act.
Gary said, “This a war that has been going on for centuries, we just don’t know it.”
This is exactly it, and the victories of the radical Islamist 5th column within the midst of western nations are small, slow, and deliberate. By the time our soft politicians and radio talk show apologists realize the end game it could be too late.
You’re allowed to hate the entity that’s trying to kill you…once us pesky Christians and Jews are out of the way…you’re next atheist. Can you name one instance in the 20th and 21st Centuries when atheists were killed by Christians or Jews for their beliefs?
One can appreciate the concerns of the University of Regina. Without these Islamic foot-baths, the washrooms at Regina, just like those of just about every university in Nova Scotia which is increasingly dependent on the flow of Saudi students (which means just about all of them) become even more disgusting and dangerous places than they are already. The washrooms are often covered with puddles of dirty water, and the toilets are clogged with the paper towels used to dry the feet (no one ever bothers to dry the floor).
Down East, however, we are careful to be fully “inclusive”. At one of our formerly Catholic universities, an office once used to house part-time faculty members was taken away to create a space with shelves of Islamic (if not Islamist) literature, prayer rugs, and long draperies to separate men and women. It is graced by a sign that reads: “Multi-faith prayer room – Administered by the XXX University Muslim Students Association”.
I have no doubt, of course, that any Catholic students on campus (if there are any) would be welcomed to come in to say a lap or two of the beads.
Been travelling and away for awhile; return to the second comment blaming the present P.M. for activities taking place in a provincial sphere.
Glad to see no one picked up the drive by smear. Cheers;
I don’t have a problem with footpaths, prayer rooms for Muslims or any other religion but it should be not be paid for by the school. You want it, you pay for it. Space on campus should also not be free for any club, it should be rented.
The problem with Muslims on campus is not accommodation but radicalization. In the UK, a shocking amount of terrorists became radicalized at universities. These are the places that government agencies need to monitor. Wouldn’t surveillance be easier on campus – where new and unknown people are the norm- than in tightly-knit, established mosques?

As for atheists and agnostics, they don’t seem to be timid about confronting Islamists. Dawkins just recently was in the news for criticizing them. What about Ayaan Ali Hirsi? Above is a video from an atheist gathering. It’s not like atheists have a reputation of being too polite and too tolerant.
Atheists/agnostics have other advantages. They must be close to dominating the entertainment/media industry which means they can get their message out into large sections of society. They haven’t gone full anti-Muslim but they could if provoked. Atheism/agnostics dominate the scientific fields and we now know how it can be used to push an “expert” message into politics. Finally, I would suspect that many of the shadier parts of society are atheists (except politics, of course). A class of people not as prone to the effects of political correctness and pacifism. We see this gang style battle happening in the EU and a few years ago in Australia.
Frankly, I don’t see religious leaders being as effective.
I for one, think it is very thoughtful for the U. of R. to add extra urinals configured for use by little people.
“This not hatred or bigotry”
I’ve got to agree with that, as would any rational person with the ability to read.
I read no postings advocating beheadings of muslims or destruction of mosques. I must have missed the comments calling for a ban on all things Islamic in Canada or persecuting those that practise that religion. And I certainly saw no suggestions about burning the Koran.
Instead, there were many thought-provoking comments about a situation that is rapidly going from bad to worse as governments and institutions scurry to one up each other on the “accommodation” checklist.
Yet, as with any discussion of this nature, someone is overcome by the urge to indulge in sanctimonious scolding and immature finger-wagging while frivolously tossing around words such as hatred, bigotry and racism. These words are so overused and carelessly thrown about that their real meaning has been lost. Those that feel the need to self-righteously disrupt any conversation wouldn’t recognize hate or bigotry or racism if they were bitten in the ass by them.
“Time to take a stand against any and all inequities in this regard”
(The following posting is restricted to the public sector.)
1. The only religious symbols on the flags of ON and QC are Christian ones.
2. There is a cross atop Mount Royal, QC and a crucifix in the Quebec Provincial Assembly. Neither will be removed despite professed neutrality towards religion by the PQ government.
3. Prison chaplains are only Christians.
4. Only Christians may have a separate public school board.
5. Canadian nation-wide statutory holidays include only Christian holidays (Good Friday and Christmas).
6. Streets named in honour of saints primarily (if not exclusively) carry the names of Christian saints.
7. The (nominal) Head of State of Canada is coincidentally also the Head of the Anglican Church.

I suggest you brush up on your reading comprehension skills and knowledge of history before spouting off your garbage.
The exact last words before my post are ” Time for the Crusades once again!”
It doesn’t get any more hateful than that, numbnuts.
favrill….I just love the way so many religious types have the basic need to classify everyone else into a group too. I don’t believe in flying saucers from outer space either. What label does that earn me? I prefer “sensible”. As per your challenge, the foot-soldiers who actually carried out the atrocities of Hitler were far and away mostly Catholic and Lutheran. What does it matter the theological beliefs of those who they were slaughtering and torturing. How many of the millions of Africans killed by AIDS may have survived if the Vatican didn’t ban the use of condoms?
LC Bennett said….”. Finally, I would suspect that many of the shadier parts of society are atheists…”
If you think that comment isn’t wholly uneducated, bigoted and asinine, you are suffering severe mental retardation. Or can you name an atheist group that enables the systematic fucking of children as efficiently as the Catholic church.
The only real question I have left about this site is who the regulars hate and fear most….Muslims or leftists.

Muslim students to get footbaths at UBC
Muslim University of B.C. student Hesham Alsalaman hopes the days of cleansing his feet in the small washroom hand basin near the university’s prayer room are numbered.

The M.B. may have a major setback in Egypt but their going like gangbusters here.
Some parties are mutually agreeing to services that involve Islam, therefore the Muslim Brotherhood is taking over.
This is what the Islamo-obsessives actually believe.
LAS, what other religions are accommodated to the same extent as Islam? If you let a group of people who refuse to assimilate or acclimatise to Canadian life demand accommodations, you might as well concede defeat and turn Western civilisation into the same crapholes that constitute the Islamic world. Culture matters. If Canadians are not going to stand up for their own culture, could they, at the very least, refuse filthy footbaths?
You’re not winning any points being contrary.
Speaking of substantiating accusations, tell us more about who is is “getting the pitchforks out” and exactly when and what are they doing with the pitchforks.
LAS, what other religions are accommodated to the same extent as Islam?
Basically all of them but Christianity in particular.
If you let a group of people who refuse to assimilate or acclimatise to Canadian life demand accommodations, you might as well concede defeat and turn Western civilisation into the same crapholes that constitute the Islamic world.
There’s absolutely no evidence this is happening in Canada. Our immigrants assimilate just fine, your ‘Footbaths of Doom’ notwithstanding.
Canada’s head of state is titular head of the Church of England and of several other things, including some whole other countries. You are right, it is a coincidence, and not a matter of any Canadian policy. You, too, are allowed to have more than one job, including work overseas. If one of your employers doesn’t like it, you can quit working for them or quit moonlighting, but that’s between you and them.
“Canadian nation-wide statutory holidays include only Christian holidays (Good Friday and Christmas).” Except Good Friday, that’s not a statutory holiday in all parts of Canada. And Canada Day, New Year’s Day, and Labour Day are statutory holidays throughout Canada but aren’t Christian holidays..
You must be joking.
People make it a point to cave into the Muslims. They do. It never occurred to anyone to make them (as they should with anyone else) responsible for their own religious and cultural leanings.
Are immigrants assimilating? Why should they? There is no impetus for them to learn either official language let alone acclimatise to Canadian life. It’s no accident that politicians troll for the ethnic vote by wearing X hat, scarf or face paint. Do you know what is going on Quebec? You do read newspapers, right? Does that sound like immigrants are assimilating to Canadian life? Try going through airport security in a burqa and see how many times you are stopped.
This is why your petulant adolescent attitude is the noose around your neck. You’re trying to stick it to dad or society or the Man or whatever authority figure you think is calling the shots. It’s not about standing a part from everyone else. It’s about taking a keen look at what is going and asking yourself what part of a workable culture you’re willing to throw away to soothe an unworkable one.
When I was at the University of Waterloo, the Muslims would wash their smelly feet in the sinks in the bathrooms. They would literally take over the bathroom as a mob, and they would leave the sinks a complete mess, with water everywhere, on the mirrors, pools of water on the floor, etc. ZERO manners, ZERO respect, ZERO consideration for other cultures than their own.
I once approached them and said they should not do use the washrooms for that purpose and the mob began shouting at me in Arabic to the point where it was clear that they didn’t give a rats rear end about Canadian values.
These same creeps would carefully orchestrate trips for their wives to come to Canada from their backward countries, shortly before a baby was due, so that their kids could be born in Canada and thus be Canadian citizens.
They would associate with no-one else but themselves. One even told me once that he was in Canada to learn engineering so he could “help defeat the West, praise be to Allah”. That same asshole who said that to me is now a professor at Carleton.
None of this is made up. Not one single bit.
Most of these sons of bitches were graduate students of the infamous Abe Elmasry.
I realize the middle ground approach will not be appreciated here but I think it’s worth a look. First, both pro-Muslim progressives and anti-Muslim conservatives are wrong. Progressives accept everything no matter how vile. Conservatives accept nothing no matter how benign.
They both need to focus on specific behaviours that are incompatible with modern, enlightened, classical liberal society. Things like gender equality, free speech, free expression, individual rights, religious freedom. Foot baths…sure. FGM, gender segregated public events, honour killing, abusing free speech rights via HRCs…not allowed.
I’m optimistic that radical elements of Islam can be marginalized. I don’t think marginalizing all outward expressions by Muslims helps that process. OTOH, pretending there isn’t any chance of radicalization occurring on campus or in mosques would be ignoring ample evidence from overseas.
“FGM, gender segregated public events, honour killing, abusing free speech rights via HRCs…not allowed.”
How many cases of honour killings have taken place in Canada in the last twelve months?
Eighty thousand innocent unborn babies are murdered every year in Canada.
Forcing a woman to stay pregnant against her will is not a good thing. Neither is aborting a baby. Abortion is a controversial issue that, IMO, will not be solved by the culture wars. Better reproductive technology will be the key factor in reducing unwanted pregnancies. Advancements in better contraceptives for men (the male Pill) would make a big difference.
Why you brought this issue up at this time is puzzling? What’s your point?
Here @ University of Windsor we already have the prayer room with the feet washing stations… And a “gender-neutral” bathroom @ the gym.
Number of deaths in Canada in 2012:
1. Honour Killing: 0
2. Abortion: 80,000
What you have mentioned i.e. honour killing hasn’t happened. What you have not mentioned has happened eighty thousand times. Where should our focus be?
So in your world the cops can’t investigate assault cases until every murder is solved?
Anyway, since you missed my point I’ll try again. Focussing on behaviours which are normal in Islamic countries but criminal and/or in opposition to basic human rights needs to be addressed while benign cultural traditions should be tolerated. Preventing radicalization should be standard practice for security agencies.
Abortion is an entirely different topic. Your bringing it up makes absolutely no sense.
I think Rizwan has a point. Sex-selection abortions are a symptom of both a sick society and a backward culture, neither of which people want addressed.
I think Rizwan has a point. S-x-selection abortions are a symptom of both a sick society and a backward culture, neither of which people want addressed.
Gender selective abortions would be part of gender equality. As technology progresses I think that it will move from gender selective abortions to gender selective pregnancies. Parents may have the ability to choose many traits. Ethically this could get tricky but still better than abortion.
Again, this was not my point. My point was about conservatives accepting benign traditions and progressives condemning malignant ones. Any thoughts on that?
I lived with that as well for about two years. People who’ve not experienced Islam first hand have trouble understanding. Or they’re idiots .. often both.
I had very few Muslim friends, and they tended not to be very pious, ifyaknowwhatimean. It’s possible to live relatively normally with Muslims if you’re willing to mark clear boundries and make it known that violence will occur when those boundaries are crossed. In that way they’re more tolerant than leftists. Leftists need to own everyone’s headspace.
There is no impetus for them to learn either official language let alone acclimatise to Canadian life.
The impetus is to talk to people.
Do you know what is going on Quebec? You do read newspapers, right?
Yeah, I know what’s going on: Quebec is being a neurotic self-obsessed pile in decline. So the sun rises.
Does that sound like immigrants are assimilating to Canadian life?
Yes. They are. There are lots of Muslims in Calgary, and they’re just fine. The problem is the place (Quebec) not the immigrants.
My point stands on the previous comments.
The larger issue is the accommodation by extortion. Western civilisation has grown weak. It will not defend its values nor will it enforce laws and customs that work for the majority. The Muslims ask and they get (or else). No one asks them to acclimatise or reform or even do without. That is exactly what we should be doing as we have done so with other cultures and have gotten (more or less) harmony.
What might be rather putrid foot baths today is sharia zones tomorrow. Inch and mile and so forth.
I’m willing to bet that you have never travelled outside of your house let alone anywhere in your city, province, country or planet. I can tell from the totally ignorant comment you just made.
When you have entire enclaves of ethnic minorities who have never been made to assimilate or acclimatise, they don’t have a need to move beyond mere phrases or conversational English or French. This isn’t every immigrant but there are quite few who behave as though Canada is just a crashpad, not a country to which they must now live and pledge allegiance. There are so many examples of this. You, on the other hand, have nothing in the way of proof to back up anything you say.
I know you’re mad at your dad or whatever but really- grow up and pay attention to what is going on around you.
