I think all Canadian taxpayers should be compensated by other Canadian taxpayers – that way we all come out ahead – and that Canadians who murder our allies abroad deserve a little extra, as a kind of hazard pay.

number one — he was an enemy against NATO which Canada is a member and I belive Article 5 (I may be incorrect) was used to bring in Canadian participation as NATO was concerned.
he acted in a hostile manner and killed NATO / american participants in a battle without clearly identifying himself as enemy combattant.
thus he was a war criminal / combattent who was not marked as such — geneva convention protects soldiers of a government acting on their behalf as long as they behave by the rules of war.
Khadr did not fit any of the loopholes — by his actions against NATO troops he was comitting treason — thus charge him with that or at very best deport him. Canada is a member of NATO. thus fry the asshole.

I agree — I recently was dating somebody who works for an ADM and an ADM in their ministry was always working against government policy — thought process was if we hold out long enough the liberals will come back to power — no kidding.
I heard this same mentality from the revenue ministry.
Also learned thru an independent source that government contracts could be bought by Liberals even when Conservatives were in power via a specific law firm in Ottawa and was thus protected by attorney/client privelage and brown envelopes were passed to buy government contracts via the Liberal party even when they were not in power.
I heard about such a process back in 1993 — it was confirmed by an independent source in 2013 — and the individual had too much integrity to follow thru. So is this a backdoor government that is in play? Is this what earns the liberal party funds? The 1993 source was pretty obscene about their liberal connections in montreal. He made fun of me as I has gone thru the Open Bidding Service to win genuine contracts. He ridiculed me as he said the bureaucracy was always under the control of the liberals. I was shocked.
What is worse, I have seen comnpanies do well under the federal liberals got similar if not more offensive contracts under the provincial liberals. They still produce junk/crap but paid by another government. what is wrong with this picture — it is the great untold story of government corruption.

As for Khadr: I’ve never hated the country whose passport I carry, never trained in a Pakistani terrorist cell, never schemed to kill Jews and never murdered an American Army medic while dressed in civilian clothing but demanding POW treatment all the same (against the Genevan Conventions). I’ve contributed to Canada’s coffers all my life, never broke the law beyond a few minor traffic violations, and I’m adding a few children raised with a Christian, patriotic, loyal, hard-working and stable upbringing to Canada’s population. But I’ll never get a cool $10 million (or whatever amount) from my country. Nor will you, whose life is probably similar to the one I’ve just described.
Life’s like that. But we don’t have to take it without saying something in protest, at least.

From my limited knowledge I would agree 100% with your comments. The idea that this corruption ended when the Liebels got caught passing brown bags of cash in Montreal is a farce. After all no one did time did they?
The Liebels control the civil service, judiciary, and the media. Much of this control has less to do with political conviction than simple ‘pigs at the trough’ mentality. I had a casual acquaintance who had been a Rev Canada auditor. I told him I had read a book called ‘The History of Booze in Western Canada’ and that my take away had been how corrupt the politicans were who were bought off. They kept the booze moving and skimmed their take. The ex-auditor laughed and told me that he had been taken off several sensitive files during his career. Files that were proving tax evasion by individuals and corporations. He was removed from cases and his notes were forwarded to senior Rev Can bureaucrats. Nothing further was heard.
IMO there is a sizeable community within the power structure of this country who make their living/fortunes from what they can rip out of the public purse. These people exist within the CPC and the Liebels. The Liebels are a worse outfit because they have no real philosophy and can be manipulated that much more easily. When Mulroney was doing it the true conservatives in the country rebelled and took the party back. At times I wonder if the CPC has already been taken back by these thieves.
Sadly its when not if Khadr roams free on the streets of the country he betrayed by attacking and killing a medic in our allied forces his shyster legals will be suing patriotic Canadians for millions. They’ll already have it in order to proceed. If he gets one red penny we need to protest across the country.
