  1. Will Thomas Mulcair Follow Suit Regarding His French Citizenship?
Being NDP why should he? Their all Aliens anyway.
Beyond that , being French to him is like being steak to Canadian prairie oysters.
An ever more extinct critter each year.

  2. I would rather have Mulcair renounce his Canadian citizenship. I’m sure he’d love Paris in the spring time. Well, except for all the arabs torching cars there. Buh-bye!

  3. We had Dionne and have Mulcair wanting to lead Canada as citizens of France. We had Iggy who claimed to vote in U.S. elections. We had Paul Martin who, while a loyal citizen, kept his company overseas to avoid the same income taxes he imposed on us. Then we have Harper who allows endless work visas for unskilled workers to insure our poorest workers do not have a living wage. Does anyone give a crap about Canada?

  4. The easy way to renounce Canadian citizenship.
    A) Say “Bilingualism sucks and is prejudicial to non francophones”
    B) Badmouth Celine Dion
    C) Say that (ice) hockey is not the greatest sport in the world. If you put ice before hockey that’s two strikes in one statement.
    D) Say “Trudeau was an ivory tower socialist who ruined everything he touched and indebted future generations with his social engineering.”
Your citizenship will be cancelled without having to fill out a single form!

  5. Canada should have a statute like the US which makes naturalized Canadian citizenship mandatory for federal office. Of course that law didn’t seem to stop the fraud artist in the oval office.

  6. So Paul Martin’s treacle tart did the right thing once in her life? Great. Let’s all take back one bad thing we ever said about her.
For example, Michaelle Jean was never in the slightest manner Reseau des independantistes’ minor concession to diversity, a token by way of suggesting that when the French Canadians were done ridding Quebec or all of Canada of English law, they wouldn’t do away with everybody who wasn’t an inbred French cretin—just the English and the Jews, the ones who kept Montreal from turning into a snowbound Port-au-Prince.
Perish the thought, I don’t know what came over me when I thought that at all. I hope Mme. Jean will find it in her heart to forgive me.

  7. I think Cruz should *not* renounce his Canadian citizenship ‘officially’. He should just come right out and say that just because he was born there doesn’t give the Canadian government *any* power over him.

  8. Ted “Tail Gunner” Cruz a Canadian? You mean this wannabe Joe McCarthy is a Canuck?
Worst news I’ve heard since Tim Horton changes their coffee sizes.

  9. I really miss Mulcair in the news.
His blowing up in front of a microphone was so “je ne sais quois”.
A real Montreal delight as it were.
To paraphrase the judge in Roger Rabbit:
    “It was beautiful….”.

  10. Will Thomas Mulcair Follow Suit Regarding His French Citizenship?
He would give up his Canadian citizenship before he’d give up his French.
Remember, leftists hate the country they live in more than anything else. It is why they are constantly pointing out all of the so called injustices.
Canada is so evil in their eyes.
In the US, they have Barry as the example of how a leftist hates his own country.
And so it goes with Mulcair.

  11. Mulcair’s biggest challenge in 2015 does not lie with Harper, but rather with shiny pony. Mulcair has all the personality of a dead fish and I expect he will lose a lot of seats to Trudeau who has shit for brains but charisma and gift of gab. And the best hair, which is all you need to get the young crowd. Harper only has to stay the course and avoid doing anything stupid to pick up another majority while the NDP and Libs battle it out for the lefty votes. My prediction….? Mulcair will be replaced after the next election because the NDP will take a beating and move down to 3rd place.

  12. Tyler was the first natural born US citizen president, though he wasn’t elected, Polk was the first elected.

  13. I understand that Fidel has demanded a paternity test. He is willing to provide DNA for cross reference. It is that be forwarded directly to the House of Commons Citizenship Committee of to the Toronto Star?
Perhaps Fidel is trying to repatriate his rising Canadian prodigy back to Cuba in an effort to continue la revolution.

  14. If you think Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen of the U.S. because his mother was a U.S. citizen when he was born outside of the U.S. but Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen of the U.S. even though his mother was a U.S. citizen when he was born because you believe a conspiracy that Obama was born in Kenya – you might be a conservative.
Classic ‘hate-shaping the facts’ approach of the SDA conservative crowd. Either Ted Cruz is ineligible to be president or the ‘Obama was born in Kenya’ thing would be totally irrelevant to his eligibility.

  16. At this point where he was born is academic. He’s had 5 years to bring the country together and improve the economy. All he’s done is make himself the most divisive POTUS in US history, surrounded himself with incompetents, and proven he doesn’t have the economic sense to run a Hot dog stand. That’s not hate shaping, that’s simply a fact.

  17. Wednesday edition of the National Post has a page one article by Araminta Wordsworth. It is titled “Cruz not first to be stymied by natural born law”. On page two it is titled Natural-born citizenship clause ‘mind-numbingly stupid’.
Quoted is Dylan Matthew of the Washington Post: We are told that good candidates are barred and this includes Arnold Schwarzenegger born in Austria. Matthew points to “Britain, France, Germany and Austria” which allow outside births as no barrier to leading a nation.
Snidely he goes on to point to the NBC clause as applied by Afghanistan, Mexico and Argentina. The memory drifts back in time to other days.
Well, there he was ranting; ” One Germany, One people” An Austrian born citizen no less and a naturalized German. The natural born clause would have saved the world some fifty million dead of course.

  18. Germany is a national state; you’re entitled to German citizenship if you’re of German descent, wherever you were born or have lived. It’s the exact opposite of the USA, where your descent doesn’t matter but your connection with the country does. Not an appropriate comparison. And of course, as I’ve explained before, there’s no such nationality as “Austrian”. Modern Austria is a German national state, and to the extent you can’t call yourself German, you can’t be an Austrian. Hitler was not a “naturalized” German, he was German by birth and therefore a German citizen by right.
Yes, it is rather odd to our minds that you should have two competing national states for the same nation. It strikes a lot of Germans as odd, too, but it wasn’t their idea; the nation was divided for reasons of internal and then international politics, and the division is by now well enough established that nobody feels the need to change it. But when Hitler actually merged Austria into Germany, just about nobody in either country saw any reason to get upset. There were obviously good reasons to object to Hitler, but that one didn’t make the list.
