  1. “One more time…..what evidence really exists to prove that Ford smoked crack? The answer is absolutely ZERO. ”
Actually, they’re not hack reporters, but very good ones. You just don’t like what they’re telling you. And their story is matched by somebody from another media outlet. And then there is the fact that his chief of staff has apparently called him out for substance abuse, and like any other addict, he has denied and pushed him away. His brother is supporting him, but with very curious language. “I’ve never seen Rob involved with coke”, which is a great way to distance himself.
And then there are all of the incredibly unusual reports of Ford being ejected from functions for intoxication, in one case where people said, he didn’t smell like he’d been drinking. And then there is erratic behaivor, such as alleged @ss grabbing, running around handing out magnets when he should be in a meeting, and even ordering his staff to hand out magnets at a funeral! Finally, there is the fact that he’s been arrested before on drug charges, and while it was just marijuana… he lied through his teeth about it, indicating that he is not a trustworthy person when confronted about substance use.
So yeah. It’s adding up that it looks like he’s probably a crack smoker.

  2. “So yeah. It’s adding up that it looks like he’s probably a crack smoker.”
Only if you’re really, really bad at math. Kinda like journalists and lawyers.

  3. We would love to “examine the evidence in front of us” – yet no one has put it (the video) in front of us for examination. It’s all still a fantasy in the minds of some Star reporters until it can be produced for inspection.
You see how that works? Saying it’s so doesn’t make it so.

  4. John, crackheads like you are so skinny, they have to walk past a place twice to cast a shadow.

  5. I had assumed any drooling Star journalists who looked at the video would have immediately discounted any differences in voice as “because he’s smoking crack.” Looks like the evidence for that is piling up.
Not hard to find someone who looks like the guy and photograph him wearing a shirt Rob Ford has been publicly photographed wearing.

  6. So if you have 3 witnesses to a crime, behaviours that corroborate the evidence, but no video, so the crime didn’t take place.
Gordin… that’s called an ad hominem attack. A bad, stupid artless one, but ad hominem, none-the-less, and it serves no purpose other than to demonstrate that you have got nothing.
So when Ford finally admits it, which appears likely as support collapses all around, what are you guys going to do?

  7. John,
If you can forward a copy of the video to SDA, I’m sure Kate would appreciate the exclusive. If you can’t, keep quiet while grownups are talking.

  8. It’s bigger than the video now Dick. His chief of staff clearly has witnessed the man’s behaviour and called him out for it. As have others who have asked him to leave events for his behaviour. You’re desperately holding onto the need to see the video as evidence of his problems, rather than looking at the big picture.
Rob Ford’s government is collapsing by the hour. His trusted executive committee have lost faith in ability to govern, and I’m sure they’re not doing this because of media pressure. It’s because they work closely with him and can probably see that he has a problem.
But like with the climate change debate, you guys will believe whatever you want despite the evidence. If you did see the tape, you’d probably try to split hairs as to what was in the pipe, or if it was really a Rob Ford imposter, or cleverly used video affects. I don’t know why I waste my time here with you tinfoil hat types. I guess it’s like not being able to stop poking a sore tooth.

  9. > His chief of staff clearly has witnessed the man’s behaviour and called him out for it.
Why do certain types of people always have an indisputible explanation for things which no explanation has been given for?
Tell you what, if I *didn’t* smoke crack and some jackass who works for me fell for a smear campaign rather than trust me I’d fire him faster than you can say pink slip. Of course, we don’t know that’s what happened either.

  10. Looks like John may well be a Star employee himself. With this laughable comment….”Actually, they’re not hack reporters, but very good ones. You just don’t like what they’re telling you. And their story is matched by somebody from another media outlet. And then there is the fact that his chief of staff has apparently called him out for substance abuse, and like any other addict, he has denied and pushed him away. His brother is supporting him, but with very curious language. “I’ve never seen Rob involved with coke”, which is a great way to distance himself.”
No….they are hacks….working for an organization that has been caught so many times in lies it isn’t funny. Their story matches nothing but a couple of reporters drinking each others bath water. As for Ford’s chief of staff, again, you are relying on reports from another hack reporter and in any event, is nothing more than heresay. There is NO evidence. Absolutely ZERO.
Where is the video, John? Evgerything to date is nothing more than words from reporters. Not ONE scintilla of evidence.
John seems to believe everything the media pours at him. No wonder he is so incredibly dense.

  11. I doubt he fell for a smear campaign. More likely he sees Ford acting erratically himself daily. This dude is an arch Conservative and a longtime ally of Ford’s. He very respectfully left the office and told reporters that his advice was for Ford alone. If he were against Ford why wouldn’t he just come out and say “that guy is wacked out on goofballs!”

  12. I had seen several telling points raised at National Post online by a Terence Corcoran. Now I have not really done my homework, but it seems that there might be complications. That of paying monies to known criminal elements which could be construed as money laundering. In addition to that there is the HST on such monies. Another point raised was how does the dispersal of so much money take place.

As for myself, I do know that likely nearly a hundred thousand beautiful bucks are in the coffers of Gawker. Piously, they state that if the deal does not come off – it will “go to charity”. Can one imagine the greedy, itchy, clutching fingers ready to dispose of that cash? I can!

  13. So, John is saying that we should believe that Rob Ford smoked crack because some people, maybe even several people, say they saw a video that no one can or will produce. We rubes at SDA are demonstrably incapable of examining the evidence. After all, it was in the Toronto Star.
Seems to me that John’s comments are demonstrating that he wants Rob Ford out as mayor of Toronto so bad that he is willing to take any, that is, any, allegation or statement that might put Ford in a bad light and call it “evidence”. Notice, however, that the drug arrest, the one hard piece of evidence of Ford’s behavior, would be OK though, except that Ford (according to John), lied.
Well, John, you’ve got us pegged. Redneck neanderthals the lot of us. You can go back to the Huffpost or Rabble and crow about putting us in our place. Bye.

  14. Johnny the atrocious tool said: “But like with the climate change debate, you guys will believe whatever you want despite the evidence.”
Johnny Johnny Johnny. What happens to people when they do a whole bunch of crack? Or meth? Or beans? Or coke?
I know its hard for you to think and look stuff up on google, but just try, okay? Try it one time.
Here, I’ll even put training wheels on for you: google “crack weight loss”. See what you come up with on the first page.
Hint, obesity is not a known symptom of crack use.

  15. In order to be the victim of an ad hominem, you first have to be human. That assumes facts not in evidence.

  16. Dear John, you are so brilliant, I bask in your wisdom.
A man as honest and upstanding as yourself, is the only trustworthy recipient of the world class videos (recently come into my possession) of Prime Minister Harper and a Goldfish/goat/3 dollar bill /whatever.
This exclusive footage can be yours for just $5 000 000 and a handshake.
For sure a mere 5million is peanuts, compared to the sacred mission to save Canada from the Evil Harpos.
Oh yes cash only,no bills larger than $100, meet me at Cab 45 Tonight.
I foresee a growth industry here.
And defrauding liberal/progressive douces of money is not a crime, its social justice.
Taking from social welfare/government payroll recipients is reclaiming stolen taxes.
As they have never earned money, or they would not be such tools.

  17. Smoking crack CAN make you lose weight, but not in every case. There are plenty of people in the world who do coke (which is what crack is), who are fat. Ford might not be an addict either, or he might just be in the early stages.
In the end, you guys can believe what you want. You are, after all, just the fringe of the right, so the vast majority of the population think you are jokes anyway. I’m not gloating over Ford. He’s a sad man and a bad leader who never should have been elected. It just goes to show you that the majority of voters in the GTA voted with their hearts (or possibly their @sses) vs their heads in picking a man with such incredibly poor judgement that he has added crack smoking to his list of moronic decisions.
I now leave you to whatever imaginary dreams you may wish to have.

  18. Speaking of imaginary dreams John, where’s the video?? Ford’s not a bad leader, he’s had to deal with radical leftwing filth and do his job, we won’t let you destroy democracy using fabricated videos.

  19. “… I can imagine you all standing on the Titanic, …”
I don’t see anyone here doubting your imagination. But speaking of unsinkable ships sinking, there was a report of a video, yes, actual filmed images of Toronto’s Mayor Rob Ford, in a drug den smoking crack. Got him.
But the report by “reputable” reporters of the Toronto Star that has been running a vendetta against Ford since before he was mayor, is that they were shown a video on a small screen in the back of a car (which they can identify) by people who identified themselves as criminals and who they can’t contact, name, or identify (all Somalis look so much alike in the dark?) and now that the campaign to solicit donations to buy the advertised video looks close enough to the needed amount that it might actually succeed, the organisers say they can’t contact the seller and by the way, they won’t be giving any donors their money back, but they’ll probably donate it to some kind of drug charity (harm reduction, perhaps? – at least they will be putting the money in the hands of drug dealers eventually.)
Nice watertight case you have there. You’ve convinced me, at least, that someone is on crack.

  20. John the Omnipotent said: “Smoking crack CAN make you lose weight, but not in every case.”
Wow John, you say that with such authority. Its almost as if you know what you’re talking about. Sadly, medical science says otherwise. A guy with a crack habit will shed weight like a duck sheds water.
True, if Ford smoked crack -one time-, then it wouldn’t affect him. But then, if he smoked crack one time… do we care? I’m thinking no.
In the end John, I could care less if the video is 100% true. Ford has all the right people freaking out about all the right things. He’s got Lefty councilors having cows in the lobby of City Hall. That’s awesome. That’s why conservatives voted for him. He’s getting it done.
Bottom line John, you and your little progressive friends HATE this guy. So really, if he smokes crack, drinks like a fish and cheats on his wife with transvestite hookers using city funds, I’m ok with it. I like him. He’s damaging your calm, and that’s worth overlooking a whole lot of character flaws.

  21. “We rubes at SDA are demonstrably incapable of examining the evidence.”
There IS no evidence, but we ARE very offensive in our defence of Conservatives, and sometimes to our detriment. Conservatives don’t have lock on honesty and integrity, and are just as susceptible to temptation as anyone else.
There’s something “off” about Ford, whether it’s drugs, alcohol, or bi-polar affective disorder,I have no idea, but this man has problems and they all don’t stem from the Toronto MSM’s attacks on him.
I hope and pray Ford was NOT the subject of the alleged video, and I DO hope he sues the Star into bankruptcy, but Ford has dallied with dope, and there IS a possibility of further use.
btw, crack doesn’t cause you to lose weight by the tens of pounds daily, it’s a slow process from having no appetite. Ford could be on crack for a year and still be overweight.
Mood swings, depression, paranoia, euphoria, are all symptoms of crack use. IF Ford did use crack,it very well could have been his first and only time.
I worked with an intelligent and capable young woman a few years ago, fresh out of rehab, and clean as Mary Poppins, or so she said.
Sadly, it took only one weekend unsupervised to fall off the wagon.
But as there IS no proof,it’s pointless to speculate, which is exactly what the media are doing. I can’t believe the Star reporters simply made it all up, as they would know the truth would eventually come out.
What they saw or think they saw, is anybody’s guess. As the story unfolds,as “the plot thickens”, we shall see who was “right” in the end.
Meanwhile,I hope they’re sweating at The Star.

  22. Ya know what disturbs me about all this?
These anti-Fords are so obviously whacho…with an emotional investment that is potentially dangerous…..what’s the odds of a coupla these nutbars ambushing Ford with a meat cleaver or two?
    Seriously!

  23. I would have reacted the same, not dignifying yet another attack from leftards with not one shred of evidence or proof to back up what they are saying. As for this notion that he is not addressing this latest allegation and that being a problem, he already has, callng it ridiculous. Now we hear that Gawker can no longer get a hold of the scum that want to sell the video? These are the people the Toronto Star are depending on to sustain this?
If this video is bogus I hope Ford sues them into oblivion.

  24. A great mayor. A true statesman. All Conservatives should be proud of the great and wise Rob Ford, the pride of Toronto (snicker, snicker, snicker…)

  25. A great news source. A true bacon. All Liberals and NDP should be proud of the great and wise Toronto Star, the pride of journalism (snicker, snicker, snicker…)

  26. And someone is putting the “man” to Smitherman.
    *SIGH* Get lost, troll.

  27. Actually BCF had it posed on the 22nd, that’s when I sent it to him. The H/T is to me, the real problem with the date is because BCF doesn’t include the date when posted. Rather he lets articles slide off the front page, and only uses a timestamp. I use a short hand nick on SDA so I can keep track of everything, that problem of pain medication dulling your memory and all that, I find it easier to break things into small groups. 🙂
Anyway, I’m just repeating myself I found it rather interesting and I do remember the Somali immigrants we had come here back in the 90’s doing something very similar, using blackmail and extortion in order to get money. It died down after there was a huge crackdown by the OPP and RCMP. But as the saying goes, “if there’s a way to cash in on it, someone will.”

  28. John: The important issue here with Mayor Ford’s alleged crack use, as with the Palestinians, and the Boston Bombers, is Root Causes. Frankly, I’m suprised that Justin Trudeau has not tweeted about that yet as he is known to have done. Think about how alienated Rob Ford has felt from the rest of city council. Then there’s the immense amount of ridicule and bullying he has received over his weight; plus the relentless fault finding and hearsay accusations by the Star and kindred media outlets. Where is the famous liberal/leftist empathy now? Where is the offering of free clean disease free crack pipes for Mr. Ford from leftist organizations like Insite? Where is the fundraising campaign to send him to a recovery facility for high profile public figures-they don’t come cheap-anywhere from $5,000-$50,000 per month. Where is the campioning and empathy for those caught in vicious addictions now? Just a tad hypocritical don’t you think?

  29. Oh yes, forgot to add the bogus lawsuits filed against him which Mr. Ford won. The evidence is abundantly clear that Mr. Ford is a victim of mobbing-organized bullying. Where is your outrage over the relentless bullying from every direction imaginable? Where is the mandate to discover root causes? The media desperation to destroy this man is blatant and palpable from a far. Whether Mr. Ford is guilty or not, your kind is most certainly guilty of taking mobbing to a whole new level.

  30. I’ve seen some comments questioning whether or not it is legal to buy a tape like this from a known criminal source. I have no idea if that is true or not.
If it is illegal, there are close to 7000 idiots out there who have just publicly donated money to a criminal activity. Maybe they should think twice before sending in their $5.

  31. Where is the video Gerri .Oh it does not exist Snicker, snicker, snicker

  32. Got a pretty good idea John that you were likely one of those progressives screaming and moaning about the cyber bullying which led to the suicide of the young Nova Scotia teen last month. Lets see false allegations, lies and innuendo drove poor Rehtaeh Parsons over the edge. But that treatment is perfectly acceptable if its done to Rob Ford. Take your two-faced hypocritical act and shove it where the sun don’t shine Phony!

  33. “…like with the climate change debate, you guys will believe whatever you want despite the evidence…”
I guess you didn’t see a mirror on your way to the computer.

  34. Why not Larry? There are certainly plenty of people dumb enough to believe there is such a video and by extension believe that the video really shows the Mayor, despite the fact that the report of the video’s existence comes from journalists working for a paper that has a long-standing vendetta against Mayor Ford, despite the fact that what they claim Mayor Ford was doing in the video is somewhat incredible, despite the fact that their language is consistently guarded (they don’t say it certainly is Mayor Ford, they say it looks like it’s him), despite the fact that they can’t actually produce the video or identify the people they claim showed them the video, despite the fact that opponents of Mayor Ford have previously made up scandalous accusations agaisnt him.
There’s no proof yet either way, but the premise that someone made up the video is simply plausible.

  35. If it were up to the lefties Rob Ford would have been ousted by now based on nothing but the word of some somali crack dealers and some star reporters. There are people calling for Rob Ford to resign over this. That’s the new standard they’re trying to set. Imagine what they’ll try to do with Harper if they succeed here. Democracy? Screw that let’s make up stories and destroy elected officials.
