Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I say it’s an improvement!
Given that their leaders typically tend toward ‘fashions’ involving latex fetish gear, dildoes and other obscene fashion accouterments…this ain’t so bad! Creative anachronism is a minor, harmless eccentricity compared to the typical bath house warriors they usually vote for….
I’ve been to Stockton. I had close freinds who lived in Stockton many decades ago, and it was a beautiful little city.
The solution now, of hiring lots of new police officers does little to convince me that things will change. All this will accomplish
is the facilitation of putting more people in jail, and depleting further an already stretched budget. Of course it creates more
jobs, but the real solution there is the creation of thousands of productive jobs, not service jobs.
Current unemployment in Stockton is officially listed at ~13.6%, but it’s likely much higher. Home prices are … all over the map….

Stockton, like much of California as a whole, is a mess. The answer of adding more police is great for the new police that get
hired, and great that the response time to take a report after the fact will be shortened, but to the average citizen, I’ll argue
more police will be a placebo. An ineffectual placebo.
The argument that reducing police presence is a root cause of the increase in crime truly ignores the reality. The housing bust and
recession need to be overcome before there’s any real healing. More so, people need to have the ability to defend themselves and not
be prey, something that is at odds with the direction California lawmakers want to take.

If the neighbourhoods need more policing then get more police. Nobody’s going to want to move into a crime ridden area and bring new business so dealing with crime is important. Maybe all it will do is shove a lot of the crime into other communities but at least there’s a mayor willing to make his own safer.
“Who’s willing to fight for Stockton?”
Progressivist code for “who is stupid enough to stay here and suffer tax rape by those who mismanaged the public purse if they wrap themselves in the city flag and hum the battle hymn of the republic?”
Answer – chumps
Dear Kate:
You’d be praying to St. Andrew the Apostle, brother of St. Peter (and one of the patron saints of Scotland.

The future is in Privately paid cops by community’s. That way your rid of the political police.
Indeed.
One might pray to patrons (ie- Saint Agatha) AGAINST earthquakes but this California, so….
