Justin T. has won the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada with 80% support in a preferential voting system. His sycophants are clearly brimming with near orgasmic joy over at CBC News. Here’s a sampling from that bubble chamber:
I really hope that after the results the Liberals will continue to garner support from a broad section of Canada and then wipe out the Cons. I would be happy with a Liberal or NDP government and either other one as opposition. In 2015 Canadians need to put the CPC into 4th place status.
Many Conservative supporters must have seen the light. The numbers supporting Harper are much lower on these blogs than they used to be. If you consider at least half are paid Harperites and the others are Americans trying to disrupt our political system, doesn’t leave many true Harper supporters.

You had me up to the Health Care part, I paid much less in both taxes and health care (private non business plan) than I did in the USA (when you consider the amount of your tax dollars going to health care here it is quite expensive). I am not sure how well we actually measure the costs and comparisons.
Trudeau does have several things going for him, a large percentage of the country that loves the social system and either votes NDP or Liberal. The wind is fickle, if that group bands together and votes Liberal instead of NDP, I think he can make a come back for the party that may eventually lead to government.
Never discount the number of low information voters, as they say. I believe it is becoming more difficult to disgust these people with horrible government.

I think all Harper can do is hold off the inevitable for a little longer and perhaps make it’s coming that much more difficult for the working stiffs who pay the bills.

I was in the free country of Belize for a month and I took a break from being constantly irritated by the mind numbing rhetoric and childish (‘safety’) regulations of North America. I read a book, I did not watch or read any Canada/US news – not even SDA.
Belize people are of every color and culture yet they refrain from hyphenating their citizenship and they do not tolerate any punitive gument imposition of rules on their day to day lives. How refreshing to be in the company of adults!
That said, I too listened to parts of the lithpissing son of the Turdo as he gave his infantile speech to a gaggle of fools with the mind set of the Beatlemania crowd in the 1960s. From 9 to 90 years of age the feeble minded hair worshipers (it was all about the hair when the Beatles reduced “teenage” ‘girls’ – and some ‘boys’ – to babbling/screaming blobs of jelly) gushed over a lisping, empty mannequin who wants their money to line the pockets of his Dad’s pals. Yet…as you said above, Revnant Dream, Alberta elected a frump without any interest except breaking the back of the economic engine of Canada; Alberta, to help her human hating ‘pals’ at the UN reduce independent thought and action to ‘crimes against the people’ .
I did not watch the gushing and panty wringing on CBC or CTV because it would have really gotten my goat after those sane days in Belize. CPAC commentators are just as pink as the fore mentioned but they have the live coverage and I prefer to filter for myself. Sun News is still not available on Northwestel Cable. The spokespeople on Northwestel claim they have never heard of Sun News network!! Back ward bushed morons or agenda driven robots – thank heavens for the internet, I can access replays – and I can’t wait to hear Ezra’s response to the ‘Coronation of a Mop pet’.

She’s been accused of having an intellectually superior manner when speaking in public. Doesn’t enamour her to the public. Most recent poll shows a 29% approval rating – lowest in the nation. Further she’s managed to alienate both the progressive and conservative elements within the APC.
Most telling is her body language – what with grasping claw-like hand gestures when trying to make a point.
I predict the APC will do end-run before the next provincial election and turf her.

In a perfect world with an unbiased media … yes. When Trudeau makes a serious misstep, and he will, who will report it? The CBC? Not f*cking likely! Trudeau could be caught on camera torturing newborn kittens or selling cocaine in a schoolyard and there wouldn’t be a peep from the mainstream media. On the other hand, PM Harper, his caucus, conservative senators, CPC staff and anyone remotely connected to the Conservatives are under a microscope with the media eagerly awaiting the slightest gaffe. With the number of cretins who receive their dose of daily news from the CBC or CTV, it makes the Conservative battle just that much more difficult.
A perfect example is a recent discussion I had with a co-worker. He proclaimed that Harper was another Hitler and that Brad Wall was spending Sask into bankruptcy. When I called him on this lunacy and asked him the source of his (mis)information, he replied the CBC and the Saskatoon StarPhoenix. After a concerted effort on my part to insert some facts into the discussion, he admitted that he viewed all politicians, regardless of party affiliation, as crooks.
This is the kind of stupidity and ignorance that Conservatives must endure day in and day out and somehow must overcome in order to remain in power.

There’s an easy way to beat Justin, call the election so it happens in the winter (e.g. Jan 2015) then his shiny pony stuff about saving the earth will look ridiculous and he will be forced to dress in layers. Summer elections are good for Trudeaux, they can strip to the waist and remind the wymyn of what’s missing in their lives. Keep them covered up, just like daddy’s close ties with the Kremlin.

My niece said Trudeau’s hair will win it. Might be insanity on my family’s part or might be insanity of young people. They will have to live or die with the carbon tax.
Voters should be reminded that politics is not a popularity contest. Government is about coercion, and about spending tax dollars taken from voters at gunpoint. Having the best looking hair does not enable a candidate to make good decisions on these matters. And if the country makes a mistake, like it did in 1968-1984, that means an even bigger hole in the voter’s pocket.
