In November 2010, Trudeau told a Quebec television show that he was tired of Albertans running the country and that, whether it was Jean Chretien or Brian Mulroney, Canada is better off when Quebecers are running the country.
“Canada isn’t doing well right now because it’s Albertans who control our community and socio-democratic agenda. It doesn’t work,” Trudeau said in French to interviewer Patrick Lagace on the Tele-Quebec program Les francs-tireurs (The Straight Shooters).
Lagace then asked Trudeau if he thought Canada was “better served when there are more Quebecers in charge than Albertans?”
Trudeau replied: “I’m a Liberal, so of course I think so, yes. Certainly when we look at the great prime ministers of the 20th century, those that really stood the test of time, they were MPs from Quebec… This country – Canada – it belongs to us.”

So certain members of the media feel that the use of a 2 year old video to demonstrate a point is not playing fair? If the media had done their friggin’ jobs at the time, this approach would not be necessary.
Besides …. anyone with a modicum of common sense and real life experience knows full well that someone who was an *sshole and made stupid comments 2 years ago is, in all likelihood, still an *sshole and still prone to making stupid comments.

Anyone who’s worried that Justin will be able to pull an Obama need not worry. Stockwell Day is not the leader of the CPC, Harper is. If Shiny Pony wins (I hope he does) then the attack ads will start in force and he’ll be destroyed like every other piece of sh*t before him.

Judging by how badly predictions of recent elections have gone, I think we’re deluded into thinking that what we see so clearly represents what the rest of Canada sees. I saw how the story of Justin’s remarks was treated in the Globe and Mail. The first comments on the message board (heavily thumbed in favor) were all very supportive of him. Instead of chastising him for his comments, they blamed the evil smearing Conservative machine for daring to bring them forward. Now, I don’t believe those commentors represent the views of Canadians either. What we have are islands of opinion which people seek out according to their already determined opinions. I also believe there is a small group of folks with lots of time on their hands who log in frequently under various identities trying to create the impression that they are the majority view. People with a more Conservative view are drowned out. It’s pointless to express views on CBC and G&M boards, and increasingly NP is being infiltrated by the same claque. I must either conclude that Conservatives are in the minority, or else have too many other things to do than to try to rig the message boards. But in withdrawing from discourse at those sites, and finding refuge in sites such as SDA, I sometimes thing we are abandoning the field.

I know this is a couple years ago, but THIS CLIP should be stored and resurrected when this little incompetent is running for Prime Minister. If only on the basis of his mindless and Quebec-centered, illogical fundamentalism, he CANNOT qualify to be a federal leader. At best, he may aspire to be the new helmsman of The Bloc, which is a counterfeit federal party anyways, whose sole mandate is to further Quebec’s interests while promoting its autonomy and the dissolution of Canada as we know it. Of course the so-called power or influence rightfully belongs in accordance with the location of economic strength. As we know, Canada’s most concentrated value is in the western provinces, primarily Alberta, where they finally have a voice thanks to our current administration, and contrary to the many years of unequal and misrepresentative maneuverings by our French-Canadian PM’s. This edition of Trudeaumania will NOT get off the ground, and with Junior shooting himself in the foot like this, he may indeed be limping onto the Liberal launching-pad.
