Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

You should blame it on Pope John 2nd.
Yo
He has my respect. Wish I could vote over there.
Romney should be careful making fun of Obama,
IRS might release his last 10 tax returns.
Brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 trillion.
So Obama got up to speak after Romney?
No need to post his speech…we’ve heard it before…
Me,ahhh ahhh me, and, and, uh, I, uh uh ahh, me, I, Michelle…
Funny guy,!!!!!
You did’nt build that.
Outstanding!
He looks like Bob Hope and the delivery is similar.
(Brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 trillion.)
Just heard that and the Big Bird Straw man,
nearly choked on my chewing gum.
Ha
Brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 trillion… should be the campaign slogan! Started posting links under that heading already!
loved it !!!
I hate to say it, but I’m watching Barry and he’s not being too awful. He’s trying to imitate a person with a capacity for self-deprecation.

I love this clip, I was laughing the whole time! So much truth can be told through humor.
Barry was something less than suave and debonair…
CBC…”Obama and Romney tade barbs”
Yes…’tade’…someone do a screenshot please before an editor wakes up.

Romney was impressive…I laughed throughout his delivery and he said much about alot.
I don’t think there’s been succinct humour like that in high places since Reagan’s day.
Watched both performers and from audience reaction I got the impression that Barry’s applause was polite while Mitt’s was genuine.
Brilliant!
Al Smith IV remarks:
Smith added that Romney gives 10 percent of his income to charity — “but the charity is the federal government.”
“Really governor,” Smith asked, “your father was from Mexico and you have five kids — are you sure you’re not Catholic?”
Smith dished it out for the president, too.
“We recognize that you have some challenges this year,” Smith told Obama.“It’s never good when your opponent has produced more sons than you have jobs.”
I thought that was very good. Funny but at the same time he sure got his points across.
While this was not supposed to be “political” Romney absolutely kicked OboZO’s ass right off of the main table.
Barry’s delivery was none other than pathetic.
I can’t wait to see the reports on this one.
Let me add that after seeing this I think Romney is going to win the election. I know that sounds silly to reach such a conclusion after a humourous speech, but I sense a certain confidence in Romney that did not exist previously. He is head and shoulders above Obama. We all knew this but I think the populace is now realizing this too and there is little the MSM can do to reverse the trend. You can only prop up an empty suit for so long. Short of a complete screwup, I am at this point putting my money down that Romney has the win. Indeed I think Romney might even have a big win.
AWESOME!!
Very funny no matter your views.
I thought Romney’s performance was outstanding. One of the lines I enjoyed the most:
“I never suggest the press is biased. I recognize they have their job to do and I have my job to do. My job is to lay out a positive vision for the future of the country and their job is to make sure no one else finds out about it.”
Even Katie Couric, sitting behind Romney, laughed.
He sounded like a statesman and very likeable. The MSM will have a hard time bringing out negatives to aid Obama. But I’m sure they will try.
Agree with Black Mamba and Joe. Romney received much stronger applause and more often but Obama carried himself well.

OOps, this was the link I’d meant to post:

Joe, I thought the same thing.
I don’t what speech “a different bob” was watching. Obama’s speech was excellent, on par with Romney’s. But Romney just looks so much more confident and comfortable in his own skin than he used to. A month ago I don’t think he would have been able to give this performance.
Very funny. Very impressive. I hope the YouTube version goes viral.
BamBam,s was the same??? Well,I guess so, if you like watching paint dry,or your weed growing.
What the Braves did to NY earlier in the day, Romney did to Barry!
For no particular reason… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAsV5-Hv-7U&feature=related
I just pondered this….
Both were using the same material…cutting up OBOZO…..
Romney won this event too. OBOZO was stiff…but then you could just tell he hated his material…and Romney. His two best lines were about Axelrod and Matthews….
He stuck it in that jug-eared little commie twerp. I love it.
I heard a lot of Dennis Miller humor in Mitt’s comments. I wonder. Regardless, he was exceptionally good. Obama had some good lines, too but as previously stated, he was stiff and gave me the impression he really didn’t want to be there.
REALLY liked Romney’s speech, but Obama was good too. I like both “you didn’t build that” jokes. Obama’s line about Paul Ryan and running time may have been too obscure for many but it was good too. There were many good ones, but the line about Romney being told he needs to put “I’m Mitt Romney and I approve this message” on everything Biden says was classic.
I liked both in 08 too though – funny lines are funny lines.
About the only thing I didn’t like was Obama treading near any foreign policy topic (the spoiler alert one). That one was raw to me and should have been to many others still also.
Hi-lair-ee-us!
I especially liked Romney’s last line, though they’re all good (this president is brought to you by the letter O and the number 16-trillion …): Romney has his beautiful wife Ann to stand with him and keep him going and Oblahblah has … Bill Clinton.
Touche, Mr. Romney … I almost said Mr. President.
Syd B.: I heard a lot of Dennis Miller humor in Mitt’s comments.
Me too. He probably did have help from Miller, who has unreservedly endorsed Romney.

Several people talking to me about the election have said:
“did you hear/see President Romney last night.”
And I grin when they walk off not realizing what they have just said.
I decided to reassess my earlier critique of the two by watching both of them again. Romney’s rerun held my attention from start to finish. After the first few lines of Obambam my mind started to drift to the point where I completely missed the end of Obama’s spiel.
Indeed I think Romney might even have a big win.

Dick Morris has been predicting for some time that Romney will win in a landslide. He was saying this when Barry was the front runner. Now the tide seems to be turning. Did Morris see something most everyone else missed?
There is now a realistic hope that we will be spared another four years of Barry.
Both candidates for president speak well, but after that there is no comparison between Barack brought to you by the letter O and the number 16 trillion Obama and candidate Romney.
@JMD
I second that i recall dick morris saying this five or six month’s ago….if it happens the guy is a political profit.
Delightful banter, it is always good to see them poke fun at themselves.
Pope Benedict XVI couldn’t be there because he was directing St. Jude to intercede on behalf of Big Bird’s lost cause.
“If you got a church, you didn’t build that…!”
Priceless…

Obama lost the funnyman duel with his first line. He stumbled in his delivery of the Clint Eastwood punch line. The punchline wasn’t even funny although everyone knew what he was referring to. He should have said “…before Clint Eastwood gets tongue-tied”
Thanks batb.
