  1. O’Really, there must be something they put in edumakator’s water that makes them want to neuter everything. Christmas, Santa, Halloween, witches, the Easter Bunny and now Leprechauns, nothing is sacred anymore except for throwing everything into the diversity blender and turning it into mush.
By the way, while I personally don’t celebrate the occasion, I do not have any problems with those who do. Actually, any occasion to hoist a hearty brew and celebrate is fine with me.

  2. And at the first anniversary of the beheading we could celebrate and call it…… “O’Happy Day!”
    Green Beer Day tomorrow, eh?

  3. LaMotte and others say Curtin’s heart is in the right place, but claim her ruling is “political correctness gone too far.”
I say Curtin’s skeevy little black wizzened commie heart ain’t in the right place.
If it was, she wouldn’t be tearing down our culture and traditions.
It’s time to stop giving the enemy the benefit of the doubt.
    They are the enemy.

  4. The Destroyers of our civilization, our culture, our nations, our freedom, are not muslims or Iranians or North Koreans.
The Destroyers are the suicidal leftists that infest the schools.

  5. What I can’t understand is how a school principal has the authority to take a established holiday and change the name. Seems to me that the State school authority is the only one with the power to do that. No different to changing the school curriculum on a whim. When was this power granted to the lower levels ?

  6. Well just fits in with the wider “war on anything related to the Church”.
    They just don’t give a ‘tinker’s damn’!
    @ sasquatch:
That type of action is about the only thing the loons will understand…may they have many electoral ulcers.
Well there goes the Irish vote…and they have been known to express their displeasure in no uncertain terms.
So who sent the snakes into Massachusetts? So is this clown handing out condoms and birth control to the kids as well?
Well that calls for a hearty ‘Saints preserve us!’

  7. Spoil Sports. Lets not be too hasty here. We can rename Ramadan “Starve Yourself Month’. And Kwanza ‘Baby Mama Week’. We can have fun with this if we just use a little creativity.

  8. The new name for Ramadan is? …
Posted by: BJG at March 16, 2012 2:00 PM
    Ramitdownyerdamthroat Day.
Like my wife’s warnings, all Kate’s thread titles, in time, will prove to be true: Not Showing Up to Protest is a Failed Conservative Policy.
In other culture war news, George Clooney has been arrested at the Washington protest and Bruce The Boss Springsteen’s new CD incites the murder of his fellow one-percenters. One song has a rifle shot at the end.

  9. Lisa Curtin, principal.
Puts me in mind of the old SNL counterpoint skits with Dan Aykroyd and JANE Curtin, wherein Dan would respond to Jane’s character’s comments with an opening along the lines of “Jane, you abysmally ignorant slut…”
    Curtains for Curtin.

  10. Not all Irish celebrate St. Patrick’s day. It’s an Irish Catholic celebration. Those of us of Irish Protestant descent have always shunned this celebration. I tried explaining this to some German friends, who invited me over for green beer, and they were completely stunned. It’s not a secular tradition, at all. Just ask an Italian in Boston or NY. They’d just as soon drive a firetruck into the crowds watching the parade. I’ve mellowed over the years, and no longer make sarcastic remarks to people who wear green, etc.

  11. Coach, let me guess, you were the guy behind the white horse at the Orangemen’s parade.

  12. Coach, let me guess, you were the guy behind the white horse at the Orangemen’s parade.

  13. We need to yell something, a substitute for “Allahu Akbar”.
How about screaming “Jesus Saves” while brandishing a lynching rope? Too klanish? Okay, how about “God Is Merciful” while waving assault rifles?

  14. Irish culture is not culture because it’s white.
No one has an issue with the little brown Mexican’s or Central American’s or even Southern ALL black Baptist churches being fanatically Christian, only white European people that cannot celebrate religion or culture. *Note that ALL black Christian choirs are a hit with Liberal Hollywood and the Music industry.
There is a common denominator to this hate, but it’s not religion.

  15. I’m of southern Irish Catholic ancestry, a fifth generation Canadian, and could care less about Religion or St. Patrick’s Day. I’m a Canadian through and through that could give a rat’s behind what becomes of the Liberal commie, EU sellout that Ireland has become. Have even traveled Ireland from top to bottom and visited our ancestral home. Indeed it’s a beautiful place, but the best of Ireland immigrated to NA and Australia a century ago.
I respect both Christianity and the Irish right to maintain their culture any way they see fit. For me St. Patrick’s Day is an immigrant’s celebration of their achievements from humble beginnings. Both the Irish and Christianity were fundamental building blocks of what we consider our great society today, so all the power to them.
Unlike the entitled, welfare reliant, squatting immigrants of today without skills or ethics, the Irish and the Catholics have long ago earned their spot in the sun.

  16. The half of me that is Irish thinks the principal is a racist ignorant pig jackass. St. Patrick is celebrated because he is Ireland’s national hero who happened to be a priest, who if born 1,000 years later, I can only assume would be a proud Church of Ireland priest. Did I say the principal was a racist pig.

  17. Real Irish (especially those around Dublin) leave town and leave all the green beer swilling to the visitors who inhale the crap. All the real Irish are out in the country having a picnic or something.
My relative in Ireland don’t bother. Neither do I.
But, the discovery of oil off the coast of Cork is really good economic news.

  18. Reference was made to Valentines Day being renamed, presumably for the same caring reason. (Gawd, we might offend someone.)I was recently in Malaysia where, if this moron principal ever went beyond her state line, she would quickly discover is decidedly anything BUT Christian. And Valentines Day is HUGE. It’s not just a day, it’s celebrated for at least a week. And these idiots as teaching our kids?

  19. We need Saint Patrick to return to drive the snakes out of North America.

I like your thinking. Yet more loathing for anything connected to Christianity , while Islam gets nothing but respect by the left no matter how much brutality. No Mosque & State desperation there. This kind of idiocy just make the authors of it, show how really backward mentally, they truly are.
There will be a reckoning by the barbarians or who’s left after these morons create a civil war.
As Ive said before no one looks kindly on traitors to their people. Even English textbooks or Canadian loath Benedict Arnold. As do pretty much all Historians.

  20. coach at March 16, 2012 2:55 PM;
” Not all Irish celebrate St. Patrick’s day. It’s an Irish Catholic celebration ”
That it is. My grandpa was from Belfast. St.Patrick’s day was not always a joyous occasion. I still remember being sent to school wearing orange on St.Patrick’s. It was a Catholic school as my mum was Catholic. Fun times.
However, the “troubles” were not a factor in all that often, with a few notable exceptions.I still hoist a pint of Guiness, and until a few years ago did celebrate with the amateur ‘Irish for a day’ crowd.
Having said that,I wonder how hateful and full of yourself does one have to be to change the name to O’Green day. That is not a message of tolerance that this principal is sending out.

  21. Would you ever hear of Lisa Curtin if not for socialist/fascist tendencies?
This is where warm and fuzzy ultimately leads to.
It is quite bizzare, the way these useful idiots behave.

  22. Saint Patrick and U2 must be spinning in their graves!
Look- if you want to stop this nonsense and return things to how they are, tell everyone that Saint Patrick was really a Muslim (albeit a bacon-eating, beer-drinking Muslim)named Parviz and that Saint Patrick was just his stage name.
    Kinyobe O’sumashi

  23. It’s time to change or ban Martin Luther King Day, and Black history month if we want to stop offending Muslims.

  24. Knight 99 writes, “Both the Irish and Christianity were fundamental building blocks of what we consider our great society today, so all the power to them.”
As a Canadian of (partly) Anglo-Irish, Christian (now Catholic) ancestry, I say “Amen”!
(Forget green mashed potatoes: bring on the Bushmills!)

  25. I’ll celebrate the teacher/principal who says to a Muslim child – during Ramadan – “your lunch is being provided for you and you will eat and not go hungry. If you don’t we will call Child Services and have you removed from your home because your parents are denying you the basic necessities of life”. ((I can only guess (sarcasm) what would follow but I would still support anyone who at least attempted this))

  26. This is an example of what a lousy job the education schools do in training people to be school principals. This principal’s action simply shows how poor training always leads to poor decision-making on the job.

  27. Just more tales of faery lights that shone on the darksome bogs and glensides, to lure men to folly and destruction!

  28. “This principal’s action simply shows how poor training always leads to poor decision-making on the job.”
Although I wholeheartedly agree with this statement, all the training in the world would be to no avail since this principal obviously suffers from a bad case of terminal stupidity. Stupidity with a generous dose of striving to appear “progressive” thrown in is an incurable cocktail of utter hopelessness.
This person should not be anywhere near children.

  29. Same as when a buisness sends a card with the greeting “Happy Holidays”.Screw ’em.
It goes in the garbage or is returned with a clear,if not indignant comment.

  30. I remember this used to be the biggest day of the year in Butte Montana. everyone wore green and used it an excuse to be Thick Micks
I never wear green on march 17, I dont want anyone to think Im Irish

  32. I would normally say that the biggest holiday in Butte, Montana is Welfare Cheque Day but I’ve been there and it’s a nice little city.

  33. Perhaps dipwad should go on a staycation to one of those lovely no go zones in Eurabia and if she gets out intact she can tell us how wonderful living under seventh century Sharia Law is.
