  1. Now you know why they call it police services, no group is to small or vile to pander to for profit. If the people in this country tolerate the burka as a uniform women will have to admit that liberal males sold gender equality to the Sharia Law Fanatics for free.

  2. Ontario has become the type of social cesspool you expect in a corrupt commie backwater. Police service there is so politicized an honest person cannot trust a cop to uphold anything resembling the law of the land.
Again these PC fools have been duped into believing fundamentalist Islam is a religion when in fact it is a theocratic cult.

  3. There’s a reason it’s called a uniform,,,uniform meaning consistent. Yet a Jew or Christian officer isn’t allowed to wear any religious symbols visibly. Please correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t believe I am.
Does not the wearing of a head scarf give an attacker something to hold onto, much like a ponytail?
Last, a straight talking officer told us that when going to court (custody) NEVER NEVER NEVER allow the use of the word “reasonable” It is not an absolute and is open to interpretation. We are so screwed,, at least take us for dinner first.

  4. The Mounties allow turbans. I thought that was bad enough pandering but a niqab just boggles my mind.

  5. Niqabs are so totally inappropriate for police work on so many levels, one barely knows where to start a discussion on this bit of PC madness. Who would want to deal with a cop whose face was masked? How would you even know it was a cop and not a male posing as a female cop? Imagine a niqab-clad officer in a physical tussle — so much clothing to grab and use to take the officer down.
Niqabs are body bags for the living. They are a symbol of female repression. The Toronto police force and any other that would even give such idiocy a moment’s thought needs to wise up.
    Imagine a world without Islam.

  6. Canuckguy, the turban is a touchy one although it is technically a religious requirement. The head diaper is just a cultural or personal preference thing. Having said that, if one’s religion is in conflict with a chosen line of work or sport, that individual should accommodate the job or sport, not the other way around.

  7. Like Tareck Fatah said, why would anyone trust the corrupted Toronto Police force, unless they were a radical Islamist.
    Anyone.

  8. Isn’t it obvious?
Muslims want Canada MORE than Canadians want it.
    Law enforcement enforces the law.
    ANY law.
Toronto police are ahead of the curve.

  9. So when the corner store gets held up how do you tell the difference between the thief and the cop?
    Cheers

  10. So if a female officer is wearing a niqab, she won’t arrest male offenders? Is the niqab not an indication that culturally, she accepts that women are lower class citizens?

  11. think thats bad?
a toronto cop is facing MURDER charges:
    canada.com/news/Toronto+police+officer+charged+with+murder/6197849/story.html
could this be some post G20 karma?
    heh heh heh.

  12. A few months ago while on Sun TV Tarek Fatah warned that the guy lined up to be the next Toronto Police commissioner is a “revert” to islam.

  13. think thats bad? a Toronto cop is presently charged with MURDER for the first time in the history of the force.
    google it.
    post G20 karma eh?

  14. When a retrograde but strong culture meets a self-deprecated, weakened, apathetic, and suicidal culture, guess who wins?
In the long run, the only thing that matters is what is taught in schools.

  15. @ Olde Spice:
Well regarding the Turbaned mounties, at least it can be used as a bandage if one is wounded. Or would the wearer rather bleed to death than defile his head wrapping.

  16. The City of Toronto has,as they say,”jumped the shark”. Toronto has always lauded itself as the “City of Light”, “center of the universe”,epitome of cultural civilization,in short, BETTER than the Rest of Canada.
Now,it looks like Toronto is headed in the other direction. I wonder what a burqa-clad cop would do to someone who deliberately defiled the Koran right in front of her, shoot the infidel dead?
And I suppose the Police Commission would consider that “an appropriate response”.
Tell me again that we’re winning the war with Islam, please.

  18. Sikhs, like Canadians, were subjects of the Crown for many generations, and they served, fought, and died in disproportionate numbers in military and security roles in the service of the Crown. I’m hard core conservative but I have no problem with reasonable accomodation of Sikh culture. They earned it in the hardest and most honourable way.

  19. “Niqabs are body bags for the living. JMD” Thank you, JMD! You’ve summed it up completely.

  20. They should hire a couple hundred niquab wearing officers and send them out to kick some civillian ass the next time the G20 comes to town. It’ll save the rest of the jack-booted, para-military thugs the trouble of donning face masks themselves.

  21. Yop >
    “They earned…..”
They earned the right to immigrate to Canada and assimilate. That would include maintaining the status quo that has functioned here and failed in the countries they are fleeing.
We too have cultural and institutional traditions that should be respected. If not they are more than welcome to practice their own back home in Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, wherever.

  22. “So if a female officer is wearing a niqab, she won’t arrest male offenders?”
    Female officer in a niqab?
Who says the officer must only be female?
Now you’re being sexist too, my friend.
This is modern and progressive Toronto, you know!

  23. If this happens, pictures of niqab-clad police officers on our streets will be so over-the-top that the slumbering sheep that make up a majority of our population may finally wake up and realize that political correctness is out of control. It might also get to the point where at least one political party will finally understand that they don’t have to pander to each and every grievance mongering victim group in order to get elected. At that point, political correctness in Canada may have hit its high water mark, and there may be a meaningful backlash from the silent majority. Bring it on!

  24. “Muslims want Canada MORE than Canadians want it.”
    ~Dystopian Optimist
    Muslims understand they are invaders.
If Canadians largely understood the issue to be framed that way, as an issue of Arab cultural hegemony instead of thinking the issue was about tolerance, this kind of crap would end.
I blame George Bush and his “Religion of Peace” bullshit.

  25. It must be nice to live in a city that has it act together so well it can ponder silly stuff like this. No.

  26. Wait until residents of Toronto will be forced to give up their pets and other little pleasantries to accommodate Muslim police, firemen and so on.
The accommodating of Islam does not end until you have an Islamic state. I just can’t get my head around why people don’t see that. – It never ends you dopes.

  27. I wonder if seeing Metro police women wearing niqabs would have any effect on whether or not a Muslim female is more or less likely to phone the police for help in a domestic abuse situation?

  28. This is total insanity which results from listening to radical Muslims and leftist idiots. Not only is it unpractical but it is very dangerous. Imagine young Muslim women and girls asking for protection from their family for wanting to simply be Canadian and they are sent such an officer. A Muslim in the police force insisting on this can only be radical and has no business there in the first place.

  29. Oz >
“…a Muslim female is more or less likely to phone the police for help in a domestic abuse situation?”
That seems to be the point in the first place. As Muslim demographics grow in Canada we will have the same issues Europe is having today.
No-Go zones, Sharia compliant zones etcetera. If we complain, we will get the car-b-ques and mass prayer blockages of our streets up to 5 times a day – until things really turn ugly.

  30. Did political influence by the Ontario provincial government undermine policing and law and order in Caledonia? Did political influence by the City of Vancouver undermine police and contribute to and exacerbate the Vancouver Riots? Is political influence in general undermining policing in Canada?
If you answered yes to these questions then you are acknowledging that the rule of law is no longer first place and foremost in policing in Canada. If that is the case then over time it is likely that something else will fill the void. The question is what?
Will the either the insurance industry or business associations or even private security firms try to find an alternative way to mitigate the losses in an effort to reduce the millions of dollars in damages caused by politically influenced policing? Would they eventually look to limit their losses by using a private police force to better protect home owners and/or businesses from the millions of dollars in damages caused by politically influenced policing?
    Just asking.

  31. Niquab and burkha eh? Sikhs get their turbans and get to carry big-@ss kirpans too, right? (They aren’t supposed to be little and dull, y’know.)
So if I want to wear my Black Watch kilt, claymore, skean dhu and Glengarry bonnet as my cop uniform, they’ll be all good with that right?
I take it there’s no word on the Toronto Police Services Board plan-of-action if the Muslim cops start treating the Sikh cops the way they do back home? (There’s a reason why the kirpan is a religious symbol to the Sikhs y’know.)
On a related note, here’s my comment to Jasbir Sandhu, Surrey North NDP Candidate on the subject of kirpans in the House of Commons.

“Hey, if you get your turban and kirpan then I get my kilt and skean dhu. Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Otherwise it hardly seems reasonable, does it?
You going to be happy with me, Scottish Conservative Guy, standing behind you in the House with a knife in my boot? Be honest.”

Just turn that around. If you went to India and wanted to join their police force insisting you be allowed to wear your stetson hat on duty, the answer would be what ?? The RCMP has never been the same since they embraced political correctness.

“Ontario has become the type of social cesspool you expect in a corrupt commie backwater. Police service there is so politicized an honest person cannot trust a cop to uphold anything resembling the law of the land.”
I knew someone who was stabbed in a minor way and robbed. He did not call police. He is not a criminal but has simply come to the conclusion that police are worse than useless.
People used to love small town Mounties 50 years ago. Now the big discussion is whether they are lazier than they are stupid or stupider than they are lazy. They have no ability to tell the good guys from the bad guys. To them everyone is a criminal and they delight in chickenpoo charges. I have received exactly one speeding ticket in my life and the cop lied. Does anyone really wonder why OJ was acquitted?

  34. this will make it almost impossible for tehm to draw their weapon and fire it accurately. more dead in the streets, innocent dead that is.

  35. If we complain, we will get the car-b-ques and mass prayer blockages of our streets up to 5 times a day – until things really turn ugly.

Hah, I’d like to see them try it in -32 C weather with the roads full of salt and brown snow.
As for the car-b-ques, in Canada the insurance companies have a lot of clout when it comes to government policy.

  36. Maybe there was a reason for not allowing public officials to wear religious symbols. Personally, I think Hutterites should be allowed to join the military and the men wear all black and the women wear checkered dresses.
Also, the fact that they are pacifists should not be held against them and they should not be required to carry or fire a weapon. After all it is just one big social experiment, isn’t it?

  37. So if I want to wear my Black Watch kilt, claymore, skean dhu and Glengarry bonnet as my cop uniform, they’ll be all good with that right?
“Hey, if you get your turban and kirpan then I get my kilt and skean dhu. Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Otherwise it hardly seems reasonable, does it?

    ~The Phantom
Actually, according to the Bible, Christians are supposed to be armed for their defence(LUKE Chapter 22:36), it’s far more supportable as a religious requirement than wearing a hijab or niqab.
    Time for some push back.
Let’s see if the anti-self defence Leftists are willing to really accomodate religious freedom when the shoe is on the other hand.

  38. Hey, Sikh groupy, the Sikhs are responsible for the worst terrorist act ever commited on Canadian soil. Sikh gangs hold more street territory on the west coast, than almost any other group. Sikhs use bullying tactics to displace other workers from many BC factories/pulp mills/ saw mills, etc. Sikhs are dangerous. Just because they hate muslims more than we do, doesn’t mean we should embrace them.

  39. Ah, the sweet sounds of progressivism and accomodation.
I can envision the day when the Toronto police will force their officers to wear niqabs.

  40. “You going to be happy with me, Scottish Conservative Guy, standing behind you in the House with a knife in my boot? Be honest.”
Dunno,Phantom. You won’t make a case of it if you go “commando” under the kilt, I’d wager.
This is complete madness. What needs to happen, in a non-idiotic liberal PC universe, is:
    1. Repeal of Sec 13 of HR Code (still waiting, harper), plus gutting of ontario human rights fascist division
    2. Firing of TPS chief & deputy chief
    3. Restating and reinforcing STANDARD dress for TPS members, eliminating any of this nonsense
    4. Elimination of all turbans from canadian police forces
    5. Federal Proclamation that this country recognizes it has gone over the edge with the PC pandering, and will return to more stabilized roots
Yeah, right. Now I’ll return to the Land of Reality.
It would be interesting to see if there was a legit court challenge from getting busted by Masked Female officer. You have your right to face your accuser in court, but how could you ascertain WHO arrested you if their face was covered?
    Disgusting times.

  41. “To claim that the oppression of women has nothing to do with Islam and is “only” a traditional custom is intellectually dishonest, a decoy. The two elements are interwoven. The code of honor and shame may be tribal and pre-islamic in its origins, but it now an integral part of the Islamic religion and culture.”

Absolutely, Jesus clearly said “He who hath no sword, let him sell his garment to buy one”.
The sword of 2000 years ago is the AR-15 of today. It’s not only our fundamental right and national obligation to own one, but a religious duty as well.

  43. coach >
    “Sikhs are dangerous”
Absolutely, they are also a racist bunch with some sort of huge invisible chip on their shoulders.
The fact that Vancouver requires a complete and separate police task force to deal with the Indo gang problems should be a wakeup call, although it isn’t for most muti-cult dummies.

  44. Knight 99- As if murdering Indira Ghandi, the very person they were sworn to protect, weren’t evidence enough. The only reason they didn’t murder Raj Ghandi, is the muslims got to him first.

  45. I don’t think that we have to worry too much about niqab wearing Toronto cops.
Women who would wear such a thing come from families where there is no chance that a woman could aspire to such a role. It simply wouldn’t be allowed.
That’s not to say that the Toronto Police Service should be exempted from the ridicule they deserve. They are asked by a member who comes from a particular community to wear a symbol of that community. They consult with various members of the community and then grant the request. Were The Phantom a member of the TPS, all he need do is ask to wear his kilt. The brass consults with the Scottish-Canadian club, a couple of Gaelic scholars, a Presbyterian minister or two and voila! He’d look great in that kilt.
    No?
The worst part of the video that accompanies this thread is that we now know of two cases in the last year where the Toronto Police Service has refused to act on instances of violence or threatened violence perpertrated by muslims.
