Am.Can.Ch.Minuteman Goldikova in the group in Scottsdale, AZ yesterday. She’s following in the footsteps of Venus, and is already top ranked female Mini Schnauzer in the US this year. Thanks to the guest bloggers for helping keep the place humming while Golda’s been ripping up the rings from Portland to Denver to San Diego. Normal blogging will resume in a couple of days.

And every inch a lady!
Goldikova? I can guess where you got that name. Let’s hope she has as much success as her thoroughbred namesake.
Go Kate’s Russian dog! Huzzah!
good looking legs , nice dog, and just look at that weather!!!lol.
I like the clipping! Cool. I wonder if a cocker spaniel could pull off that look?
congratulations. very proud looking dog. and a very proud owner I bet also!
Beautiful dog, Kate. Congratulations!
May you mercilessly crush the competition…and enjoy some good weather.
I’m sorry I know that this probably a dumb question but are you sure this is a miniature Schnauzer. My wife and I own a miniature Schnauzer, and although we always thought it was on the big side for a mainiature, it looks smaller then the picture of your dog. Your dog looks like a normal Schnauzer to me. In anycase your dog is a beautiful dog. Ours looks pretty good too, at least right after it’s been groomed. Also I have a quick question, what’s with cuting off their tails, is there some good reason for it?
LOL. Yes Dale, that’s a Mini. I can provide her pedigree on request. 🙂 There are three types of Schnauzers, Mini, Standard, Giant. Here are the CKC standards for a mini: http://www.ckc.ca/en/Portals/0/pdf/breeds/SHM.pdf
Mini’s are in the Terrier group, Standards and Giants are in the working group if you want to search CKC for their breed standards.
As far as the tail question goes, yes there is a good reason. I _think_ it has to do with the fragility of the tail, but you’ll have to wait for Kate to return to correctly answer that question.
I read the link you provided and it described our dog pretty well except I’m going to have to read the part about being “obedient to command” to our Schnauzer. I don’t think she understands that part. As for the size I guess it can be hard to tell sometimes from a picture. Thanks for the link and the information. Dale…
I’ve noticed that ‘obedient to command’ part myself. I think it’s a bad cut and paste error. 🙂
Good Luck Kate, give em hell !
,
Kate, figures you’d be in Scottsdale after I’ve already gone home.
If you’re still there, try a prickly pear juice margarita. Unique and delicious flavor. Worth the trip to a decent bar.
Cheering you on Kate…if you see my uncle say hello for me eh!
ya but can she hunt?
I’m just curious: Are any of these beautiful schnauzers lapdogs in the kate/lance household?
