Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Yes! Jim Demint pretty much endorsed Ron Paul for president, and he’s 100% correct! Jim Demint is a HUGE Ron Paul fan, as they both hate the government and its bureaucrats, and are dedicated to balancing the US budget.
Thanks for posting Kate!
Ron Paul 2012!
And END the CBC, too!
A number of my friends in America downsized to partnerships and sole-proprietorships because the cost of keeping employees was simply unprofitable, largely due to government regulations. They contract other self employed people as needed. The result is a much more profitable business. Oh yeah, none of them vote Democrat.
Another reason why so many people with the potential to be entrepreneurs see the big picture and bury themselves into the biggest paying corporate elephant they can find and milk it with as little energy as possible.
A little like welfare and the eventual enslavement of our society, one with the globalized Third World sweatshop we are trying so hard to be equal with.
Steve Jobs in his face to face with Obama told him that it is impossible to open a factory in the US due to unnecessary costs and regulations. Obviously didn’t make much of an impact.
Poor old Sam is probably SOL unless he becomes a crony capitalist.
Are there any examples in history of a government voluntarily shrinking itself other than as a result of economic or political collapse? With 16 Trillion in debt and a US government that has not passed a budget in 1000 days, it is a toss-up as to which will come first. Thatcher and Reagan had some success but it was more of a minor detour than a meaningful course correction.
There should be a determined effort to cut regulations/entitlements/business subsidies by 5-10% per year to promote growth but few politicians can withstand the squealing of the recipients and program administrators. In Canada, witness the lawsuits and outrage at the elimination of relatively minor programs like the gun registry and CWB. The mere mention of health care and pension reform is causing conniptions.
If there is any hope at all, it is that individual states will break free and return to the sanity of limited government.
‘Ditto’ to what Mike and LC Bennett said and to what Ron Paul is saying! The pension pigs of the unions and big gument are the roadblock – they care about their ‘entitlements’s’ not their country or the future (citizens) of their country. Sad that we have sung so far into the trough and the dung around the trough.
Freedom is popular – I hope it spreads like wildfire and that Dr. Ron Paul will be President Dr. Paul in Jan. 2013. It would be a grand day for citizens everywhere in the world.
dave, I do not remember the fellows name, but he is the current head of Best Buy and was being interviewed on Fox News a couple of weeks back and he said the same thing. He actually likes all the regulations because it is almost impossible for a competitor to him to start up. Sorry no linky.
I am on the fence about Ron Paul I genuinely think he is better than Romney and prolly better than newt as well but his foreign policy is weird and the fact that he is a Jew hater kinds sits uneasy with me. But other
Than that I think he truly loves America like palin since she is not running I think I would want to see either Ron Paul and sanatorium or santo rum and Ron Paul . Basically I would be going for the guy that the media is ignoring or hates that is how you should vote America …..vote for the guy that the media ignores or hates or makes fun of or attacks all the time …that’s the guy you vote for. Because he is obviously in love with his country and prolly knows the constitution and is prolly a fiscal and social conservative…..on that note I will make a comment tonight in the tips and comments because I want people’s input please head over there tonight and read what I say and please comment on it. Thank you.
Paul in Calgary: I disagree with you that RP hates Jews…. RP actually LOVES Jews and fully realizes that ingenuitive Israel is surrounded by savages!
But the USA is broke broke broke! Stop spending, NOW !!!
Still much to complicated for Obama supporters to understand. Should be dumbed down some more.
Paul In Calgary >
Ron Paul as a Jew hater is a cooked up fabrication. If he had ever said or written anything at all disparaging about Jews it would be headline news every night on the MSM until he disappeared into obscurity.
The fact is RP does indeed want to “End the Fed” the other fact is that there is a fringe segment of conspiracy society that believes “Jews run the banking system”. Fringe because there are dozens of other mainstream conspiracies about who really controls the world which do not include Jews as the master planners.
Therefore the RP hating spin doctors have lumped RP’s “End the Fed” campaign into the “Evil World Bankers are Jews” campaign.
Ergo RP hates Jews.
Nothing more to it than that.
Ron Paul a Jew Hater? I don’t know. but he is naive…his foreign poilcy is full of holes. I too agree we need to have fewer bases in the world and stop subsidizing everyone else defence (including Canada). We need to get out of Korea or have them pay for our costs, our airfcraft carrier stationed in Japan costs the US government nothing….yup nothing. They (Japanese gov) pay for all all costs associated for the forward basing of a carrier wing, support ships, US Airforce Bases, Marines, and Army Forces. I don’t care that Ron Paul was a flight surgeon in the airforce. Most of those guys don’t know their ass from their elbow when it comes to military and foreign policy. I include him in that assessment.
all I can say is
Vote for DOCTOR RON PAUL or settle for the mulatto Hitler, George collaborated with him in the 40’s and now has placed his doppelganger in the white house
Only Ron Paul will deliver.

Ron Paul was in Congress when Israel bombed Iraq’s Osirak nuclear plant in 1981 and — unlike the United Nations and the Reagan administration — defended its right to do so. He votes against support for Israel due to his opposition to foreign aid by the US in general.
