For the best part of 6 years skeptics have watched the full weight of āconsensus scienceā and left-wing media descend upon them. Al Gore got a bloody Nobel Prize.
Those who had the temerity to suggest that maybe, just maybe, the driving force of temperature on this planet might be the enormous flaming ball of gas around which our planer rotates were tsk-tsked and labeled stalking horses for big oil.
When we said we agreed that increased CO2 would obviously have some effect on temperature but not anywhere near the level suggested (which included the end of earth as a habitable planet due to chain reactions that would kill the oceans) we were claimed to be disingenuous.
When the models kept failing to predict accurately, they were revised downward but never seriously questioned. Even now that is the case.
A couple of Russian climatologists made a $10,000 bet with British counterparts That the earth was about to get cooler not hotter. They were dismissed as nutbars.
Kyoto and its ilk were used to mobilize public opinion against the US and then Canada. Our later refusal to play along at Durban made us eco-criminals.
Due to consensus science our planet has wasted billions of dollars on lightbulbs that we canāt safely dispose of, carbon sequestering technologies, a bubble economy in solar and wind power fuelled by a fake market in carbon training and new taxes.
A few years ago, the proponents got smart and dropped āglobal warmingā and started talking about āclimate changeā.
Now the numbers are coming in and the emperor has no clothes. The whole thing is one elaborate pile of horse$#!+. Increases in C02 are continuing and are going to have tiny effects on temperature going forward. To the extent they have an impact, they will most likely prove to be a net benefit to our species, increasing crop output.
The tragedy of this is it has discredited both real science and the cause of environmentalism for a generation. And all because the leftists distorted the true scientific method. We kept drinking the koolaid even after the hockey stick was disproved and leaked emails showed the scientists were tweaking the data to support the hypothesis.
As global temperatures continue to drop due to low sunspot activity, this is going to be the gift that keeps on giving. Stay tuned as various rats abandon ship.
