If Obama’s friends are mussing about suspending democracy in public speeches, what are they talking about at strategy sessions? One can only assume that van Jones’ or George Soros’ agenda is a talking point.

Up north you assume that blacks are FAR more prevalent than the census facts … their share of NC’s population is in the low teens, and they’re only 12% of the population nationally. Obie needs a LOT of white votes to win anything, and anywhere down here in the South he’s NOT going to get those white votes.
People love mocking southern ‘rednecks’ but they’ve got / we’ve got much more common sense and street-smarts than most of the over-credentialled city brainiacs that I’ve met throughout my career … and they/we have VERY finely tuned bullshit detectors, which have been buzzing and flashing since about Jan. 21, 2009.
Both Obie and Dem. Governor Bev Perdue misread the 2008 election as a mandate for socialism when it was actually ONLY a mandate against Bush’s last 2 years.
Obama is badly burned toast all over the South – you can safely bet your house on that. Unlike those “urban sophisticates” in places like Toronto (who keep supporting moron liberals like McGuinty no matter how hopeless they prove to be) we southern rednecks have long and vindictive memories toward those who blatantly screw us over. This is welcome news. It means Obama will probably not win North Carolina in the next election. On the other hand, her decision might have been made by the party to get a more popular donkey who will bring in votes for Obama.

dmorris, how right you are. Four years ago, I read postings written by Obama-backers on a forum. They stated that there would be NO U.S. election in 2008, because George W. Bush would implement a dictatorship. Obama has said over and over that because Congress seems gridlocked, he will have to go it alone and do ‘it’ himself. In my view, he thinks that if he says it enough times, the public is more apt to accept him taking over control when the time is right.
The OWS gang should tread lightly….an event even close to what they aspire to could trigger a Fort Sumpter moment. An emotional event not neatly compartmented by the mason-Dixon line but rather fly-over VS the urban enclaves.
