…there are more trucks rolling through Williston, N.D., now than in downtown Chicago.

The oil industry is the big gun that keeps North American economies afloat. I hope the liberals realise this when they are finding new ways to tank the aforementioned economies.
They should keep these success reports quiet or the Obama supporters will be coming in by the busload to shut everything down.

No Sir! Not in Ontario! McDinky is lightyears ahead of you dinosaurs…
Of course, Jamie! How could I have forgotten? 🙂
Too bad Barry O B Bam Bam can’t find North Dakota on his map or else he would close off the highways and build Canada Goose choppers.
The problem is that the eastern dems are living off trusts set up by their great grandfathers that were based on whale oil and they still think thats the source of Americas oil wealth.
The watermelons are fighting fracking tooth and nail, through their lackeys in the media:
From USA Today: ” Oil-drilling wastewater pumped into a northeast Ohio well “almost certainly” triggered 11 minor earthquakes around Youngstown since last spring, including one Saturday, a seismologist tells the Associated Press…
The seismologist interviewed by the AP, John Armbruster of Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, said more minor shakes can be expected throughout 2012.
“The earthquakes will trickle on as a kind of a cascading process once you’ve caused them to occur,” he said. “This one year of pumping is a pulse that has been pushed into the ground, and it’s going to be spreading out for at least a year.”
What USA Today neglects to mention is Mr. Armbruster is employed within Columbia’s Earth Institute, which “…mobilizes the sciences, education and public policy to achieve a sustainable earth. ”
About two-thirds of the way through the article I became confused. Where was the outrage from environmentalists? The moral dilemma? The cautionary tone of the writer? The condescension towards “brown” collar workers?
I’ve never read straight reporting before, is this what it looks like? How strange but also intriguing.
They’re shipping the oil by rail instead of that unsafe pipeline. Obama is such an idiot.

Wrong,Scar. Buffet/Pickens are just calling in their chips, which makes the Zero worse than an idiot.
Shipping oil by rail? Sounds inefficient since the tank cars will come back empty. If only there was a way to run a big hose or maybe even a steel pipe from the oilfield to the refinery….
@ Al_in_Ottawa
You may have hit on a keeper here. Actually, railway right of way is wide enough to run a pipeline within moderate distance of the track. No eminent domain problems. I wonder if that is too logical ??
The oil/gas boom in north dakota has one huge benefit:
It will see an incumbent democrat US senator defeated and replaced by a republican in 2012.
Peterj said:”I wonder if that is too logical ??”
Absolutely.
It’s kind of hard to plan pipeline projects, when there are Bakken, et al, wells coming in so fast. There’s a bit of a scramble right now, and big P/L projects usually don’t start until the music stops.
Egads,I love to read positive articles about people working and prospering! Made MY DAY!
I’ve lived through construction, oil and gas,and forestry “Booms”,and am very familiar with all the travails, heavy traffic, housing shortages, etc.,but I’m not familiar with what a Windill “Boom” looks like.
Perhaps some of you Ontarians can fill me in on that phenomenon.

North Dakota? Isn’t that one of the 57 states?
The Democrats down here in the states have, for years, done their best to minimize energy production and blue-collar jobs in general:
