Not flaming but I watched the entire presentation and didn’t find it a waste of time at all. In fact, well worth the time it took (3-4 sittings to get it all).
Amazing if not criminal that this isn’t front page news on every paper in Canada.

It’s a little scary to see how little understanding of science there is among the Senators on this Comittee that deals with highly technical subjects.
(Of course, Nancy Greene is a world expert on the effect of gravity on a body perched atop two low-friction boards on a snow covered slope!)
I’m fully aware of the AGW-CO2 scam, and have been since long before it was fashionable to be a skeptic. What new information do these videos bring to the discussion?
If you’re fully aware, probably nothing. For me I found it very informative, some of it, a bit too deep for me to casually understand. Like I said earlier, I’m amazed it isn’t front page news. The presentations were really well done and for the most part understandable and informative.
This gives ammunition against foreign & domestic NGOs, the Suzuki heads, the Gore maniacs. It allows those in Government to point out how insane this whole scam is. How irrational it is to spend money on fantasies that even implemented will do no good even if true. Its a right move in a direction most of us here knew was a plot years ago. Before the Mann data dump opened this can of lying environmentalist dung up.
This is necessary theater to debunk an evil deception.

Senator Nancy Greene-Raine should be commended for her work in helping to expose the fraud that is climate-alarmism.
The panel presented the facts and the science in a comprehensible manner.
Seemed that most of the Senators tried to understand the subject material at hand. It was, however, easy to discern that it may have been the first time in their lives they ever heard the real story on climate-alarmism.
Senator Mitchell’s response at the end was truly juvenile. Despite all that took place the previous 2 hours, he simply said ‘nan nan’ don’t want to hear what you are trying to tell me, I have made up my mind and nothing will change it, I believe in climate-alarmism because I just believe in it – just because. (Same as religion, you see – except he wants you all to pay for his multi-$Billion church.)
I have mailed the Good Senator more than a few times – she has responded often.

It was so refreshing to at last see the real story of Climate Alarmism heard in our Canadian Senate. I have been waiting a decade. Any longer and I may have not been around!.
What I found very interesting and revealing.
For Two hours:
We heard well thought out scientific facts.
We saw data and graphs presented that put climate alarmism into perspective.
We were clearly shown that the IPCC’s and other climate models do not stand up to scrutiny.
We were reassured that global warming is not and will not be a problem but cooling may be.
After all that, all Senator Mitchel could respond with was – ‘ But, despite what is said here today, so many still say man will cause a catastrophe’.
That is all he had? Did not say how this “catastrophe” will occur or what it may be.
During the two hour hearing I wish someone would have made some of the following points:
– Only 15,000 years ago, the earth’s climate changed so much that most of Canada was under two (2) kilometers of ice.
– Then it changed again and melted a lot of it and is still melting some remnants today.
– Since the this recent ice age, the earth has, during a few periods, been warmer than today: Roman Times, Medieval Warm Period, ect.
– Carbon dioxide should not be vilified, yet the whole Climate Alarmism thing is predicated on CO2.
– Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant – it is an essential gas of which the earth’s atmosphere barely has enough as it is.
CO2 conc a hundred years ago 0.03% (300ppm)
CO2 conc today 0.04% (400ppm)
CO2 conc enhanced greenhouses 0.10% (1000ppm)
CO2 conc at which plants stop growing 0.02% (200ppm)
CO2 conc giant plants/dinos Mesozoic 0.20% (2000ppm)

I think the Enviromental Minister should have been there. Too bad he “appears” to believe the opposite of what was presented.
He was on Rotherford a few weeks ago when he said something has to be done because the permafrost is melting in the North. As long as you got a supporter in that position, nothing will be done. He [represanitive of the Conservative Party] is too scared of the enviroMENTALists like Dr. Fruit Fly. [To me he is no different than Senator Mitchell, he does not want to face he facts that were presented.]
I still do not understand how Dr. Fruit Fly has a chatity status – it should be taken away. Again, the Government will not touch him, because they fear him.

The opposite of “climate scientist” is Real Scientist. As in, “Real scientists have proven otherwise”.
The term “skeptic” was coined to delegitimize them, so why are you using it?
While many Canadians are familiar with Ross McKitrick’s yeoman service in exposing some of the excesses of the IPCC crowd, to CBC and the concensus media he remains a non-person. Our state broadcaster can employ Dr Fruit Fly for 25 years and promote Al Gore’s propaganda incessently, and never get around to interviewing this distinguished Canadian. That is simply a disgrace.

Real scientists are skeptics. Science is all about questioning and looking for proof or disproof of theories.
Most science is based on empirical evidence not faith. Quantum Physics is a possible exception. In many ways it’s indistinguishable from religion.

Actually Quantum Physics has much empirical evidence. I witnessed a French nuclear test in the Pacific, back in the day…..it was quite empirical.
Such disciplines such as psychology/psychiatry are quite another matter….Remember that bravo Sierra about repressed memmories a while back….how many innocents were incarcerated based upon a psychologist “recovering repressed memmories” of females, who had been actually brainwashed in the process.
IMHO climate science is a robust, but difficult, science….it’s the politicized researchers bent on supporting a political agenda who have put it into disrepute.
Don’t confuse CO2 climate fantasy with climate science. It is the reputable climate scientists who have done the heavy lifting to debunk the fantasy scam.
