Will Trade For Tulips

Via Tim Blair;

EU carbon prices fell to their lowest ever level on Wednesday as the euro currency and equities slid on renewed fears over the bloc’s debt crisis and oil prices tanked after producers promised to maintain high output. […]
“I still don’t see any bottom to this market,” said one carbon trader, who said any positive sentiment from this weekend’s landmark U.N. climate summit in Durban was purely psychological as it brought no increase in demand for permits.

  1. No demand for carbon credits?
Didn’t you notice all those damning Emails and lack of evidence and all the political hype and corruption?
We’re all on to you now … and we have all wised up.
    Bye Bye

  2. Thank God Al Gore still has some income and isn’t forced to dumpster dive. Gore and co. closed the CCX in Chicago, but kept in open in Europe in the belief Europeans are even more gullible than Americans.
    They were right.
Europeans should sell their carbon credits asap at any price, and invest in new EU bonds.

  3. Carbon credit shysters…couldn’t go broke fast enough.

  4. Speaking of carbon trading, I read that Quebec has just announced a cap and trade system for their province. Obviously the advantages of having access to new taxes and corruption opportunities outweighed the disadvantages of the absolute failure of Chicago and European carbon markets. Someone should organize a betting pool as to when the first allegations of infiltration by organized crime and political corruption make the national papers. I’m betting October 2013.

  5. I’d rather buy Nitrogen credits, its eco friendly and more abundant in nature.
The good news is that if you “hedged” against the carbon credits, you’re doing pretty well this week. Despite how it appears are there any bets that Soro’s and Gore are possibly popping some champaign tonight?

  6. Speaking of Carbon tax/credits:
Looks like Quebec wants to go as California, should transfer payments stop because of this:

I hear that Alberta and Saskatchewan will take their industry and sell Quebec Carbon Credits – that way they will get transfer money back [with interest.] From a so called “have-not Prov” to where California is presently …. Best of luck. Now those leaving Quebec will have to communicate in English – like the rest of Canada.

  7. A tree leans only so much before it falls, a ship lists then must roll over. But the carbon scam seems to be defying gravity in it’s long descent to horizontal. Oh well since its a fake market we can have a extended fake collapse. Maybe its a fake Mel’s hole.

  8. I had heard that 1/3 of the pension plan for BBC employees had been invested in carbon credits and companies that trade them. If they are in the toilet, it is simple to see why the BBC still trumpets the strumpets of carbon offsets. Talk about conflict of interest and truth.

  9. Carbon traders already spend most of their time planting tulips, so it’s not much of a stretch.

  10. They’re not that swift in Quebec.Posted by: Jethro
I think it’s a matter of too much wine. Winos are easy targets for bullies and thieves. Luckily, they have an annual 9 billion dollar allowance from the ROC that has delayed their descent to rock bottom.

As per your link…When I read stuff like that, I wonder if the folks behind AGW are evil geniuses or ff..ffu..fffuucking idiots…oopps… sorry about that last bit, my Trudeuttes kicks in when I’m confused…(genetic thing).

  12. Recently ran across some old promo lit from Viterra, shortly after their buy-out raping of the shareholders of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.
Here, an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of this new concept: Carbon Trading!
‘You ignorant, coniving a-holes’! thinks I. Time to move my business elsewhere.

Boy! Glad it’s not like that in Ontario…

And the morons get shafted, time after time.

  14. I’m curious how much money has gone into the Carbon credit black hole. I know that Russian organized crime profited big time from this scam but would be curious who else made money and who lost money. Hopefully the remainder of the BBC retirement funds are invested in Greek bonds. I predict we’ll see a replay of the Chicago climate exchange in the near future but the complicating factor here is that the carbon credits are valued in Euros. The lower the Euro goes in value, the greater the value of the carbon credit and if the Euro disappears???

“The lower the Euro goes in value, the greater the value of the carbon credit and if the Euro disappears???”
If the Euro disappears the carbon credits will have the same worth as the carbon itself. Trading in nothing is never worth more than nothing. This is the first time in history that nothing is worth billions. Of course you’ll only have the word of the people who control nothing , that nothing is a valuable commodity one should invest in. Nothing ventured…..nothing gained. Here in BC we still pay millions for nothing. There will be a increase on nothing in 2012 because our political elite has nothing between the ears. They are now addicted to the money nothing brings in and nothing will make them admit that nothing is a scam they are well aware of. Nothing like a province full of brainwashed fools that think nothing of being charged for nothing. So, all people that have investments in nothing should save them and someday nothing might be worth something to a collector. That was fun.
