  1. “why was Jones hoping for warming?” Good question.
I think he was worried about the optics of not having physical evidence to back up his scam.

  2. That’s an easy one.
    * Governments worldwide ALWAYS desperately crave MORE things to tax, so they can piss away EVEN MORE of our hard earned income “helping” us
    * Since they already tax gas, they wanted to increase those already high taxes, so they concocted a “carbon tax” … BUT …
    * to make that palatable (especially to youthful brain-addled morons) they first needed to make carbon a monstrous evil … but how to you turn the fuel of the 20th/21st modern world into something “evil” and thus taxable??? …
    * you blame it for threatening to “end all life as we know it, SOON!!!” …
    * and to make that even remotely plausible, they had to invent the myth of global WARMING melting the ice caps, etc. etc. ad naseum AND THE NEEDED “SCIENCE” TO SUPPORT THAT RIDICULOUS MYTH
And THAT’S why Jones and his ilk have been “hoping” for / shilling for ‘warming’ … because their paymasters (= govt grants) NEEDED warming to justify their carbon taxes as being “essential” to “SAVE all life as we know it … for the children”
That was easy … next (harder) question, please.

  3. Davers6…plus by stealing all the rich countries maoney, and turning food into fuel, they can starve millions, which is their REAL goal.

  4. Human nature. When you make a prediction, good or bad, you have a natural desire to see it come true. Especially if you’re banking on the results.

  5. It’s pretty obvious that is main concern is that by 2020 the environment will be screwed beyond repair. How wrong he is is irrelevant.
    He’s a scientist, not a politician.
Also, everyone hates to be wrong.

  6. All of the above, and also because in my opinion there is a self loathing death wish at play among many on the left. Take for instance the TV series “Life After People”. Or as I call it “The Environmentalist’s Wet-Dream”.

  7. Hah. I watched part of ‘Life After People” and turned it off when they said Boston’s old North Church would fall over 30 years after people. It has been there almost 300 years — I somehow doubt it will fall over in 30. Another show to add to the “do not watch” list.

  8. Well, imagine a Boy Who Cried Wolf whose problem was incompetence and paranoia, rather than mischief.
He really does believe the wolves are on their way, and keeps seeing them in every shift of grass or crack of twig. But whenever he tries to get someone to help him find the wolves, they somehow just can’t ever actually find them. So out of desperation, knowing that when the wolves do come it will be too late if they aren’t ready, the Boy desperately hopes for the sight of at least one wolf, even if he knows that means the wolves are already too close for comfort.
Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by paranoia.

  9. If life were baseball….
He bet against his own team and would rather tipoff the opposing batters than lose money.

  10. I think they are all leveraged to the max in green tech and carbon credits. When the AGW bubble bursts all teh water melon greens are going to be wiped out, dragging the rest of us down with them.

  11. We need to quit bulling Phil Jones,
    he has considered killing himself..

‘Climategate’ Professor Phil Jones ‘considered suicide over email scandal’-
Professor Phil Jones, the scientist at the centre of the “Climategate” leaked email scandal,
has told how he considered suicide over the affair-
    would he use carbon gas,
or buy one of those republican guns?

  12. “Truth is not a liberal value–feeling good is”
Being right is more important than reality to them.

  13. And,in the midst of all this Climate ‘crisis’..Lizzie May tweets: ‘Conservatives actually laughing and applauding their Fossil of the Day Awards.I want to weep.’
I want to weep too Liz..I was hoping for a Standing O !!
