The Left’s long held pipe dream is over. Most of them don’t know it yet, but it is.
In a spectacular new column, Margaret Wente accurately paints a picture of the modern world and illustrates how far out of step assorted liberal sycophants clearly are. It starts thusly:
Laurel O’Gorman is one of the faces of Occupy Toronto. She believes the capitalist system has robbed her of her future. At 28, she’s studying for a master’s degree in sociology at Laurentian University in Sudbury. She’s also the single mother of two children. “I’m here because I don’t know what kind of job I could possibly find that would allow me to pay rent, take care of these two children and pay back $600 each month in loans,” she said.

Miss O’Gorman got all that edumukation and still didn’t understand “contraceptive”, or was she just a lay-a-bout
One question for the OWS crowd. If you know a better way, why don’t you simply do it? Build companies where everyone, president to janitor makes the same salary. Create your products in a way that does no harm to the environment. Use nothing but solar and wind energy. There no finer argument than a successful demonstration. Stop telling us you are smarter, better, more noble and just do it! And when you prove you have a better way, I am sure the world will follow your example.
I blame the government for handing out student loans regardless of the job prospects at the other end.
And they don’t tell you that student loan debt is not the same as other debt – it follows you to the grave -even if you declare bankruptcy.
Easy government student loans are also the reason tuition fees and professor’s salaries are so high.
The occupiers should be angry at the government, their university, and their professors.
They are being ripped off alright, but not by Wall Street.

I noticed that many of the G&M commenters accused the author of “blaming the victim”, completely missing the point that blaming the victim is appropriate for self-inflicted wounds.

Because YOU have it good, no one else matters? Is that what kind of society we have become? Do you realize this is NOT an attractive quality?
The “Occupiers” are merely a symptom of what is actually wrong with our constantly evolving Democracy / Plutocracy.
What has stifled investment in North America and robbed opportunity from millions of Americans and Canadians – MORE THAN EVERYTHING ELSE PUT TOGETHER – are the obscene Federal Budget Deficits of the United States of America. (Canada isn’t free of blame either.)
We know that investment by corporations – creates jobs. Foreign Direct Investment flees, or just never bothers to show up, when governments are running reckless deficits and carrying perilous government debt.
Jobs leave the country, (writ large) when more fiscally responsible governments phone job-providing corporations and companies.
Therefore, these Occupiers are but a symptom of government mismanagement!
Try doing a little research before you decide to disrespect millions of hard-working Americans and Canadians who are angry that their governments sold them down Debt River!
