  1. I was just thinking that those NDPee strongholds could do with a bit of creative riding redrawing.
Still, can you say “crushing defeat”? How about “snatching victory from the jaws of… victory!”
Ontario PCs take note, THIS is how its done you dumb bunnies.

  2. Louise, Where is the veil? Of course that is a reference to the Wascana windbag, and his pathetic, irrelevant little party.

  3. You Saskabushians have tasted free enterprise and you will never go back to the thumb on the top of the head again, congratulations. It is so good to see evolution in front of our eyes, the folly, stupidity, uselessness, of following liberalism/ndpeeism has been layed wide open in Sask for this generation to see. Here in AB we have had years of free enterprise, but with Ralph letting the lefties drive the last four years of his tenure, and then RedEd trying to please every no account fiefdom builder by letting regulations run business into the ground we have faltered, hopefully Redford gets back to getting out of the way, and Ab will once again be a leader, but it is good to see Wall stick the unionistas to the outhouse, where they don’t even belong. Times over Ralph with the stickup, you had years of thieving liberalism, it is over, go quietly to the great Ignatieff Dion Mclellan Cretien garden party, Canada paid for it, be happy, WE are.

  4. You really think Alison Redford wil fix Alberta’s government?
She won because liberals bought a 5 dollar membership and voted for her. The unions backed her because she cranked spending on education.
Danielle Smith is the only choice. The WILDROSE Party is what Alberta needs to compete with Saskatchewan.

  5. What’s most interesting to me is that Wall essentially promised NOTHING during the campaign. So what will we have after another four years? We’ll still have the Human Rights Commission, the attitude of entitlement rampant among our youth and native people, no incentive to get off welfare, the continuation of the ludicrous wind power schemes and carbon capture boondoggle, and when the price of potash cycles down again, I’ll bet on increased taxes.
Wall’s entire campaign was “Isn’t it great here? Don’t trust Lingenfelter.” Pretty weak beer… but still better than the horse piss being offered by the NDP.

  6. Ralph Goodale could be finished.
He wins with smaller and smaller percentages and he’s old.
If ReginaWascana replaces Ralph with “generic Liberal”, then it’s over.

  7. I cannot help but view the Sask Party success with a degree of nostalgia. We now have provincial Reform parties in Sask and Wildrose knocking on the door in AB.
Sadly, in BC we have a sad excuse for a free enterprise party in the BC Liberals. They are NDP-lite and with the Conservatives re-establishing, the NDP could form the next provincial government. In my area the Libs and Cons are making no effort to organize. The NDP utilize most public events to do their insidious bs.
Many of us orginal Reformers voted against the Party moving into eastern Canada but Preston was adamant and carried the day. I still feel that western/eastern interests are fudamentaly opposed and that provincial governments have to protect western interests. To an extent I see a similiarity between the Eurozone and Canada.
Canadians live in a fools paradise that Canada does not suffer from the Euro and USA debt disease. Not only does our per capita debt rival the USA but that debt is not equally spread across the country. Ontario and Quebec owe disproportionally high provincial debt. An international debt crisis, which is coming’ will throw those economies into kaos as their ability to re-finance that debt at affordable rates becomes impossible. Like Germany, will Western Canada feel obligated to bail them out? My vote will be no!

  8. Peter at 8:36 AM, hold your tongue, sweetie. I pay no attention to Ralph Goodale. He’s Regina’s and the Liberal Party’s problem, not mine.

  9. @djb
The Saskatchewan Party is a Liberal-type party. Brad Wall doesn’t seem to have a high caliber conservative cred.
Not being the NDP is simply worth its weight in gold.

  10. My congratulations to Sask residents and best wishes for the future. I may join you soon with a new business venture. Glad to see you voted to stay open for business.

  11. looking at the ridings that the NDP won they only won by a sliver in most cases. I am willing to wager if a fraud investigation into the counting in those riding were to happen then those sliver thin wins would disappear.

  12. CT:
“provincial governments have to protect western interests”
    Agree with all you wrote.
    cheers

  13. “What’s most interesting to me is that Wall essentially promised NOTHING during the campaign.”
O that we might have a few more politicians who promised as much.

  14. Congrats to the province of Saskatchewan for making the best possible choice for its future. Sadly, we in Alberta are going in the opposite direction, and it is my belief Saskatchewan will be a better place to invest long term now. The liberal urban influence in Alberta is destroying our economic future. Even more money will be flowing into Saskatchewan, especially if the center left conservative gou’t of Alberta is re-elected.

  15. “[P]rovincial governments have to protect western interests.”
Let me fix that for you:
Provincial governments have to protect provincial interests.

  16. Me I’m still wondering Whiskey Tango Foxtrot happened here in Ontariario with our last election.
McSquinty relected? The wind-mill thing and hydro rates shoulda retired him and his crowd. At least my riding didn’t do it.
The anomoly with the Saskabush election is the bullet-proof majority in the North( aculture of dependancy?)…other than that the NDP support was strictly urban…

  17. Ralph Goodale is that rarest of politicians, one who voters vote for the man, not the party. As much as I dislike the Liberal party, I don’t see Ralph getting voted out. When he retires though, the Libs can kiss goodbye to their last bastion in Sask.

  18. My entertainment was looking at the greenie votes in all the ridings. When are the granola chomping, foam at the mouth tree huggers going to take the hint ? How long will Elizabeth May have to cry herself to sleep ? Are the Gore/Suzuki followers really such a tiny minority and if so, why are we teaching their bullshit in schools ?
    Inquiring minds want to know.
