Ever wonder why really good, competent people don’t run for political office? Now you know why.

St. Ambrose had a great line. When someone told him that someone was speaking ill of him, he commented, “Thank God, he doesn’t know me better or else he would have worse to say.” Unfortunately you can riff off a line like that in politics, some people have no sense of humor.
We’ll see who’s the last man standing. Here we are, day 5 and the journalists have nothing. Meanwhile, the Cain campaign moves forward. The journalists made a grave mistake in smearing a good man who is both far more intelligent and a far better communicator than anyone in the Washington press corps.
I wonder if the media has jumped the shark on this.
After dumping the Obomination on the unsuspecting public they might have finally overdone it.
I could give a damn about ANYTHING the MSM is saying.
HIS message is good. He’s worth serious consideration.
I’d prefer him as my C-in-C over Romney.
The establishment has given people crap in the past. I think the more they demonize Cain, the more people will be driven to him.
Now. What the Electoral College does remains to be seen…
Ron Paul will always be my first choice but Cain is the only hope of saving the world from the US sliding into real socialism. 4 more years of Obama and the future is looking grim.
His 9-9-9 plan may be flawed and certainly needs some polish but how on earth could it possibly be worse than what Obama has done so far??
go Cain go
The rothenberg header that asks “would cain be leading if he was white? “is my favourite. I don’t think I ever saw that headline from the msm when Obama was running.
“would Cain be leading if he was white?”
So now being Black is an unfair advantage. Could it be that Cain is just an excellent candidate who stands for the same thing as his supporters.
The charge’s against leveled at Herman Cain, could be leveled at just about any male of a certain age. When I was young and ho-er- frisky, thing’s were different. Young men and women, saw each other differently then youth today do. With the feminist- filter firmly in place a good long appraising look at a female today can get a man,and perhaps a woman in trouble. Bill Clinton seemed to suffer at first glance, the accusation’s leveled at him. Strangely, after lib-fem’s looked at it, his popularity jumped, especially with women (guess we are all horn dog’s no matter the sex) . I wonder if B-HO will, will ever be looked at that way. I am male, so the sexual interest in this man I find strange. A tall emaciated person, with bat-like ears, only there for the reason of keeping his head from slipping farther up his ass. I dont’t know what will happen to Herman, I am sure it won’t be good, as he is Conservative. He seem’s like a nice man, but President—no, shouldn’t be.. I don’t think the right person has been found yet. With the media scrutiny that faces all candidates now, will we ever be innocent enough to accept anyone who want’s the job. I think we view people with such a jaundiced eye these day’s I do despair. Where, and is there an answer
Hmmmm…is Cain really a non-establishment candidate? He was a chairman of the Kansas Fed, favored TARP (or so I’ve heard0 and though Greenspan was the best Fed chairman ever…yeah. So…?
I sent him 25 bucks today. God bless him and God bless Jesse Ventura. I have had enough of Stalinist Obama (Teleprompter Jesus) and his sycophantic minions. I need another cup of coffee.
Next debate he should look square into the camera and ask the national media where they were during John Edwards run for the Presidency. Then ask it again. And once more for good measure.
I am tired of Conservative candidates being convinced by their handlers that they need to play by the rules. (or not venture too far outside them)
Media is the enemy. Attack the media.
Found out through Cain’s newest campaign video that Clarence Thomas was lynched by Joe Biden way back when…The community organizer’s choice for V.P.
Hussein never seems to run out of surprises to make one sick to ones stomach…
i am stil rooting for cain even if he has done some of these supposed thing’s like made sexually suggestive remark’s , or stared at a womans tit’s , or invited a woman out to his home for drinks and perhaps sex ……i have done every one of these thing’s to mwoemn …youk now when youl ike a woman , or you find her attractive , i joke with the women in my work place all the time , in fact the women in my work place absolutley love opening there work shirt’s to show me there …….new t-shirt’s with the funny pictures or slogans on them and i will say this they are ..well endowed women and they DAMN well know they are being looked at and oogled …i have gone so far as to ask one woman jen 24 blonde petite but about six feet tall married i have asked her how she felt knowing that men stare at her butt and chest so on and so forth and she said “men are men and women are women it’s notl iek they are touching me i am in a male dominated industry and for the most part men are polite to me so if i catch them looking i let them or i ignore it as i know i am attractive but i also know i am married and loved i cover myself and i do not throw it out there all day i respect that men are men that will never change and i don’t want it to , besides she said it’s good for moral” LMAO!!!
That is not a joke that is the truth , there is another young lady who is well endowed she has no problem showing us men her …..t-shirts either and they both know that while we are reading there shirt’s we are also looking at there tit’s and enjoying the view ….thye really don’t care and the men are polite and we joke about it with them most men contrary to what the radical man hating feminist’s will tell you and the cbc …are actually polite and do try to resist the urges to look at these young impressionable women but once in awhile it is smiles all around !!!
If you don’t like what i just said and are offended YOU are part of the problem!!!
Going purely by media reaction, I’d say Cain/Palin ticket in 2012 is a sure-fire landslide.
Turn up the heat on that teapot boys, we gots some tea to make.
Did someone just call Cain competent? At what shooting himself in the foot?
Phantom,
I’ve read a headline somewhere Palin might come back in the race…As VP for Cain would be like a supernova indeed.
One can only dream…Cain is not there yet and the climb is only going to get uglier. The Establishment is well anchored in DC and they will not go without a major fight. David & Goliath.
2012 could turn the pivotal years of 1965 and 1968 USA race relations on it’s head,,,of sorts. But most probably for the better if our side wins (Provided we don’t end up with a Romney or one of the same). At least in the long run. True freedom and pride for them this time…
The KKK lives! Its headquarters is Politico, and it lives in the heart of every Democrat
Right Honourable Terry Tory, I’m sure that the Republicans could run a yellow dog next year and win. And I’m just as sure that the dog would have some scandal about it break on Oct. 1st, and the coverage of the Republican Yellow Dog Scandal would be wall-to-wall, 24/7 for four solid weeks.
It won’t make any difference. If Barry is the Dem candidate, they will -lose-, and it will be the largest loss in American history.
I don’t actually see anything in Cain that makes me think he’d be an awesome President. He’s a businessman like most others, competent manager maybe but not the Leader of the Free World Teddy Roosevelt/Ronald Regan superdude everybody seems to want. If elected he’d probably do a workmanlike job, nothing spectacular, maybe get some minor tax cuts passed, maybe ward off some of the Euro sh1t-storm that’s a-brewin’ off shore. Kinda like Harper. Minor things, in the right direction.
But in the present situation, moving from saboteur to merely competent Joe Average American would be like a revolution. Having a US government that merely stops deliberately working AGAINST the interests of America would be a freakin’ miracle.
Cain is just another clown, certainly no worse than, say, Romney, and slightly better than Obongo. His main political function is exactly the same as the Big O’s. He allows one group of white people to crow to another group of white people about not being ‘racist.’ Meanwhile, the ship sinks.
As has been repeated endlessly, the media attacks the biggest threat to the left by intruding on their black/women’s issues monopoly. A Cain/Palin team might end up being unassailable. At some point, the continuing humour being made of women and black Republicans is going to backlash on the media.
Palin was far more qualified for the presidency than Obama. At some point women in general might see that the only reason she was targeted was because she was female. Ditto for Cain with Blacks.
I agree that Cain is nothing special but maybe it’s time for a successful business man to do the job. The present president is a lifelong parasite who has never had a real job and never had to break a sweat.

See Kate’s “Not Waiting For The Asteroid” department. The game is over, but they think its not.
They still have the metaphorical megaphone, so can’t hear the mumblings around them.
Not sure if it’s myopia, confirmation bias or worse.
More and more I think about where this comes from, the name Karl Rove keeps popping up.
So, here’s my theory on how this will play out.
Despite the panicked tone of this thread, this is a test of the voters’ tolerance on moral issues.
As much as the MSM piles on, Cain continues to lead in the polls.
Therefore, contrived outrage about a phony moral issue cannot sink Cain’s candidacy.
Fact still remains that voters are looking for alternatives to Romney and most polls still include Rick Perry.
Still, you have to look at it from the moral issues perspective and that’s why I figure Newt Gingrich still has a pretty good shot.
Hear about how Gingrich supposedly dumped his first wife while she was being treated for cancer? Makes him a horrible man, right?
Well, apparently Gingrich’s daughter from that first marriage was 13 years old at the time and has now come out with some facts to counteract the smear.
According to the daughter (heard this on radio Friday), her mother was the one who had filed for divorce. It was months later that her mom went in for tests and the rumours proved malignant.
Fact remains that he did have an affair during his second marriage and is has been married to Calista ever since. Sometimes, things don’t work out.
Point being, Cain’s apparent indescretions are being used as a trial balloon.
I predict the final two candidates will be Cain and Gingrich.
Just checked Rasmussen.
As of Thursday, Cain is still ahead.
Stop channelling your inner Chicken Littles, please.
This war will be won.
Palin might come back in the race…As VP for Cain would be like a supernova indeed.
Because it worked so well for President McCain.
One of the lectures that was delivered at seminary was about sexual harassment. However it was not what you might think. It was about certain individuals (mainly women) and their perception of being sexually harassed by their pastor. It seems that some women attach sexual feelings to what they perceive as ‘powerful’ men and then extrapolate from their feelings that the ‘powerful’ man is sexually harassing them even though the ‘powerful’ man has never even met the woman. Other times the ‘powerful’ man is charged with sexual harassment when he rebuffs the woman’s unwanted sexual advances.
Although I have never been charged with sexual harassment as one who is known to occupy the pulpit on occasion, I have had certain women deliberately flirt or flash their breasts or pubic area at me.
Without any direct knowledge of Herman Cain’s circumstance I suspect this to be the situation in his alleged sexual harassment cases.
