The horse farmer, who lives in Hillsburgh, was bringing a Charter of Rights challenge against the Ontario SPCA, citing illegal searches of a farm he rented on Highway 9 in Adjala-Tosorontio Township in November, 2008 and February, 2010. The searches were used to gather evidence that resulted in seizure of 32 Tennessee Walking Horses and 14 charges that Luckett wasn’t taking proper care of them.
Instead, in the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie, Crown Attorney Carol Mitchell told Justice Grainne Forrest that the Crown was dropping all charges against the horse owner. “You are free to go,” Forrest told Luckett.
“There is no more venue for me to hear your application,” the Justice repeated to a protesting Luckett, who wanted to proceed, adding that she was able to hear a constitutional question only in the context of charges against a defendant. Replying to Luckett’s complaint that he had “incurred costs,” Justice Forrest said: “If it is purely a monetary issue it can go to a civil court.”
Animal rights contagion is spreading to even small town humane societies, into our vet teaching colleges, and creating an increasingly activist veterinary profession. (Leftists in our universities haven’t limited themselves to political science and gender studies.)

The OSPCA is another out of control McGuinty empowered organization.In Eastern Ontario they have charged an elderly dairy farming couple with $720,000 in fines for supposed offences.The couple`s vet who testified that the animals were well cared for was over ruled by a vet who was brought in
from Campbellford at great expense, because the OSPCA deemed the animal owners vet to be biased.
This was not an isolated case.This bully organization is rotten from top to bottom.

Here in Alberta,you can’t keep and/or rescue feral cats.The SPCA puts them down.I have have two 1 year olds that I saved and they are loving,great cats,spayed and well looked after.Yet the SPCA tried to tell me they should have been left for yote bait.A%$holes.

Yes, that is written from a US perspective, but it applies in Canada as well. Hard times are coming. Largely as a result of “Law Enforcement” actions over the years. Where do YOU stand?
If you do an internet search of “OSPCA bullies”, you will find thousands of examples like that of Ian Luckett’s case. Ian Cumming, a columnist of the Ontario Farmer newspaper, has been covering the trials and hearings of some of eastern Ontario’s farmers who have been charged by the OSPCA. The conduct of the OSPCA has been atrocious in these cases.
The farming community has definitely become the target of this group. The farm organizations are now waking up to this threat. The current provincial government must be forced to reign in the powers of the OSPCA; the farm organizations are now voicing their objections, along with many others, to the out-of-control actions of the OSPCA.

Bastards. What possible logic is there to that? Maybe these people actually hate animals.
And, if you take old Fluffy to the vet for her final sleep, a week or so later you get a nice card telling you that some of the cash you forked over was sent to the OSPCA as a ‘donation’.
Gonna be a lot of old pets getting euthanized the old fashioned way.

The OSPCA officers want the right to carry a sidearm. These are people with, at best, a few weeks training. They already have more search and seizure power than ANY police force.
If you have the misfortune of being targeted by them and they seize your animals you have to prove that there has been no mistreatment…and once you have proven no mistreatment you have to pay ridiculous inflated “boarding” fees to get your property (animals) back. I think that is called extortion is it not?
BM….I voluntered at the SPCA here in Edmonton.The way they treat the animals,they should be hauled in for abuse.I used to take the cats and dogs in treats.Was finally told I could not do that.I told them to eff off.When I could walk into the cat room and be swamped by them looking for a pat or to play,that was a bad thing??
Make no mistake about it..the end game with the activists that have infiltrated the OSPCA is no one will have animals or pets.

Solzhenitsyn which do apply directly to our province though all are written for consumption in the USA.
Many years ago, into what was later to become Saskatchewan, an army unit known as the Northwest Mounted Police was sent out to pacify the Territories and they are still here as the RCMP.
Our party is calling for the removal of the RCMP from Saskatchewan and the creation of a Provincial Police Force, to both remove the “lawful authorities” ability to issue orders (which must and will be obeyed by members of the RCMP) from afar, and more importantly to re-establish the trust of the citizenry in their police, that those LEO’s are indeed not above the law and will defend them from tyrannical edicts of all kinds.
These 3 articles make the case for expelling the RCMP from Saskatchewan far better than I could and I urge people to at the very least read them and to be determined to have the discussion.
Like most people and, I daresay, the vast majority of citizens in Saskatchewan, I want to live my life under the Rule of Law, not the law of the jungle, but I fully expect the RCMP to obey the orders issued to them from outside Saskatchewan, no matter how contrary to the principles of freedom and liberty those orders may be. Don’t believe me? Try dodging one of the most egregious violations of the principle of being free from unreasonable search and seizure, a checkstop. How do you expect that will turn out for you? Were you foolish enough to admit to the authorities you own a gun? Then you may be charged with an offence if you do not assist the “lawful authorities” as they violate the privacy of your home.
Tyranny does not always arrive in jackboots, but can and does show up well spoken and nicely dressed but no less dangerous, as their well-intentioned(!) edicts are ultimately backed up by men with guns.
