Alexandrine Latendresse, NDP MP (corrected again!). Via BC Blue – “Can you hear the sound of NDP operatives deleting their new MPs’ Facebook profiles and pics?”
I’m so going to be loving these next four years.
Related childishness here though, I wouldn’t go hard on Ignatieff. He hasn’t been in Canada long enough to learn our traditions.

How long before these students start acting like students and end up getting forcibly removed from parliment for disgraceful behaviour? They will need to be reminded they’re not dealing with some lefty prof when they decide to have a little hissy fit.
Also, they are really going to need to be coached on the difference between spewing venom in the House and saying the same outside the House. NDP lawyers had better be at the ready.
What’s with Canadians being all whiny bout President Bush?
Joey: A big, busy pub could gross over a million in a year, without much trouble.
“Pubs”, it turns out, are a form of “business”, and a million in revenue is a million in revenue, whether it’s from selling beer or widgets.
(And who’s this illiterate R person? Is it a clever joke, or simply insane?)
Don’t vote for some who’s inadequate, even if they are in the “correct” party.
Calgary West, are you listening?
I guess Quebeckers shouldn’t have believed the Anglophone press when it said a huge NDP surge was happening across the nation and chances were that Jack would end up as the Coalition P.M.
The NDP caucus will resemble a bunch of high school students visiting the HOC accompanied by their teachers.
BTW, jinx, wallyj; you owe jcl a Coke.
(Pat) ‘Martin admitted that he and others with experience in Ottawa will be busy over the coming weeks acting as mentors, coaches and tour guides to the new recruits’
Should be smooth sailing then…
It isn’t the 4 years at $150K that bothers me, what about the MP pension if one of these idiots gets voted in again. I hope PM Harper amends the pension requirements for MPS
Mr Speaker, I’m like so freakin’ hungry…
Fresh twitter for everyone:

Okay, this is a second attempt. I don’t know what’s wrong with Kate’s filters, but it’s getting to the point where I can’t post a single thing here anymore without it vanishing into the ether.
Kate, this makes participation very frustrating. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
Okay, this is a THIRD attempt. I don’t know what’s wrong with Kate’s filters, but it’s getting to the point where I can’t post a single thing here anymore without it vanishing into the ether.

Meet the Orange Bloc.
When Quebec voters realize Wacko Jacko’s words/promises were all bullsh*t Layton will have the feeling the kleeniex got exchanged for sandpaper.
Forgot a closing tag. Sorry.
A committed social activist who couldn’t bother to cancel her Vegas vacation to campaign?
All these new NDP were nothing more than asses to fill chairs and vote yes when the coalition took over a minority conservative government . This way we weren’t seeing the Bloc Quebecois. Unfortunately , the most sophisticated voters on the planet failed to understand something . People are just as afraid of Layton as they were of the Bloc.
Kate, that is not Eve Peclet pictured. The Star identifies the person in the photo is Alexandrine Latendresse, NDP MP for Louis-St-Laurent.
BTW, shouldn’t her T-shirt read, “If only these were brains”?
Andy:
“BTW, jinx, wallyj; you owe jcl a Coke.”
Yeah, that’s hilarious, same time stamp, same exact link.
When your leader is a sexual deviant this is the kind of candidate he attracts.
BTW, jinx, wallyj; you owe jcl a Coke.-andycanuck.
Sure, but my Coke comes one way only, with dark rum.
That look, is the last look, 100 million people saw.
I can see the Killing Fields from my house.
I can see it now. The Opposition all pumping their fists in the air, chanting ndp…ndp…
The liberals chanting…rise up…
Grant at 3:51 PM,
Totally hilarious!
I wonder if the NDP shadow cabinet critic for child care issues will also get stuck with babysitting duties for the new kiddies in the House?
How OLD is this person? Twelve? Shouldn’t Mom be calling her in for supper?
I love that this all comes out after the election. Good job lamestream media, especially you @kady and @rosiebarton!
Sigivald says “Joey: A big, busy pub could gross over a million in a year, without much trouble.”
Yeah, it sure could…but you see, the attempt by the NDP stooge to portray the situation as a “multi-million dollar small business” is nothing more than an attempt to hide the truth….which is, she is an assistant manager/beer slinger at a University pub (which she doesn’t own). It is a deliberate twisting of the truth. Much like Layton and his “shiatsu” massage BS. NDP supporters might be stupid enough to swallow such crap, but anyone with an IQ above that of a handball knows better.
Quote of the day goes, unbelievably, to Aaron Wherry at Macleans:
Q: “What are the greatest challenges for the NDP going forward?”
A: “Checking with their new MPs’ parents to ensure they’ve got permission for this four-year field trip, I suppose.”
People of bigger caliber crumbled under the weight of ego boost after being admitted to the halls of power. Many personal tragic stories with HOC in the background are yet to be written.
By the way, to make politics more appealing to young people, the next election’s ballot should include option “whatever”.
“Child MP’s… with GUNS… in our Parliament… in CANADA!”
Makes one consider watching CPAC when Parliament convenes, may be better than Letterman
Soundofmusak – the filter is grabbing your stuff for having too many links. I think probably due to the way you’re writing them. Hotlinking a comment is higher risk of alerting the junk filters than simple cut/paste.
I know it can be frustrating, but few people understand how quickly spam attacks can shut down an unprotected site.
So what does this say abot the people of Quebec?
They really want these kids to represent them in Ottawa?
Why, oh why did we not let them seperate decades ago?
Let’s call this what it is. A mockery of our system.
When is that next vote for separation anyway?
Is it just me or is there something kooky about about a bunch of Quebec people who thought it was cool that a perty leader got a hand job 15 years ago so they elect a pack of toil foil wearing university students to represent them in government?
The next 4 years being labelled as ‘interesting’ is a little understated!
Those PQers sure are smart.
Wonder which of their new dually elected Reps will thro a Tantrum when asked what they do for a living.
So I guess Iggy IS a sore loser after all. What a coward.
I’m thinking that maybe these little facts should be strung out over a few months,maybe to be used when Jack lavishes praise upon the youth of his party. But,what the heck;
“NDP MP Laurin Liu is a McGill University student who admits that until recently she’d barely visited the Quebec riding where she was elected Monday night.” And there’s more;
“Liu, who doesn’t have a driver’s licence or a car, doesn’t know how she will commute to the riding from her home. She is hoping to continue her studies part-time.”
Wow,she does not understand that she will be working in Ottawa.

Thank you, Kate. I do understand the intricacies, DDoS, etc.
I like to make my links clickable for the others so I wrap them in an anchor tag. I’ve done this several times in the past.
Such links do appear above, and throughout all the other threads. I don’t know how to do it otherwise.
Surely it isn’t just the anchor tag tripping the filter?
/confused
I will do a simple cut & paste next to test…
Okay, here’s the link I tried to post earlier, no markup:
(crosses fingers)

Ah! instant markup — cool! That’s new. 🙂
jcl sez:
“Don’t you mean “minions” :^)))”
Well, wouldn’t the women then be ‘filly minions?’
Thanks very much, I’ll be here all week.
But how can they vote “Present” when they are in Vegas?
The linked article from thesun.com gets even better than the picture of the new NDP MP Latendresse speaking truth to power with a toy pistol and a clownish jersey: Meet new NDP MP Eve Peclet, who recently appeared as a participant on a Quebec reality cooking show: ” In the series, she dances, botches a meal and lies about preparing the lamb marinade herself. It was enough, it appears, to win the long-held Bloc QuĂ©bĂ©cois riding of La Pointe-de-l’Île.”
Speaking about his new MPs, NDP leader Jack Layton commented, “It’s a diverse group”.
“Ian Capstick, a former NDP press secretary who took on the task of welcoming new party members to Ottawa back when those numbers were more manageable” added this observation: ” The key, I think, is getting them all up to a point where they sound like members of Parliament, they act like members of Parliament and they’re able to be re-elected as members of Parliament.”
Read it all.
I wonder if Smiling Jack has to pay these youngsters extra —–for doing a real good JOB?
richfisher @ 4:25, you may be more accurate than you think.
Does it surprise anyone here that Jack Layton would field candidates like this?
So, if I were a reporter in Quebec, and a Bloquiste (but I repeat myself), I would be shadowing these youngsters and highlighting their every error, in order to help the correct party to win PQ in the next election.
If it entertains us Anglos, well that’s OK too.
andycanuck – ‘BTW, shouldn’t her T-shirt read, “If only these were brains”?’
Careful – are you sure she’s old enough for that to be a legal thought?
“That is OK my child. You did your best.
Now make Jackie smile.”
If anyone thinks there is any hope for Quebec, then all they have to do is look at the people they elected for the NDP. Why don’t we just write them off. If I were Mr. Harper I wouldn’t give them a cent….and then I would call a referendum for the rest of Canada to see if we wanted to keep them……it would be a re-sounding no way.
Dumb Just Dumb…
