Hunting for Horrible Heather…

…with both barrels. Ms Mallick:

Canada’s cold new dawn
Conservative prime minister Stephen Harper is our version of George W Bush, minus the warmth and intellect
heather.jpg

What happens now is the full-scale Americanisation of Canada…
The Evangelist Christian right is at the heart of Harper’s Conservative party, and after years of being shushed, it will now demand an end to a number of things, including abortion rights. Canada has no law against abortions, and they are available free.
Corporate taxes will be cut almost immediately, Bush-style. Political financing laws will change – parties now get money for each vote – but this will end under the Conservatives, who will have a huge advantage in terms of the amount they can solicit in corporate donations [which are now illegal; the Conservatives have in fact no plan to change this, just to force parties to raise money from their own supporters].
Harper himself is a famously strange man…

Jonathan Kay
:

…an open letter to The Guardian about Heather Mallick
…a March 28 Toronto Star Mallick column claimed that Harper’s government is planning to “hunt down its enemies” in a manner that “verges on the Stalinist.” She also claimed — without any evidence — that Harper would eliminate all “government safety standards for food and medicine”; that Harper wants to put “guns on the street,” and institute a “system of academic McCarthyism.” Mallick’s May 3 Guardian column (“Canada’s cold new dawn”) is written in this same spirit — particularly the last three paragraphs, which bear no resemblance to reality — and also reflect Mallick’s odd and disturbing habit of casting hateful references on those who don’t happen to live in large coastal cities.
This is part of a trend, because many parts of Mallick’s Guardian columns are essentially interchangeable slurs against what she insists, without any evidence, is a racist, misogynistic Canadian government populated by, and for, fat individuals who are simpletons because they don’t live in Toronto…
…Canadian progressives also have been outraged by Mallick — because of the consistently hateful attitudes she has exhibited toward people who are poor or come from rural backgrounds. In 2008, for instance, she wrote a CBC column analyzing the popularity of Sarah Palin among “white trash” (her words) voters: “Palin has a toned-down version of the porn actress look favoured by this decade’s woman … Bristol has what is known in Britain as the look of the teen mum, the ‘pramface.’ Husband Todd looks like a roughneck; Track, heading off to Iraq, appears terrified. They claim to be family obsessed while being studiously terrible at parenting. What normal father would want Levi ‘I’m a fuckin’ redneck’ Johnson prodding his daughter?”..

  1. At first I thought the Mallick article was a spoof. Nope.
I kind of want to believe she’s not real and just exists as an Emmanuel Goldstein figure for the right made by the NP…but it isn’t so. She’s really real for real.

  2. We have these lovely left wing people in England too.
We are having a referendum on May 5th about a voting system called the Alternative Vote (AV for short). You vote 1,2,3 instead of putting a cross against the candidate you prefer.
One of the promoters of the system derided opponents as being like the people who think Obama’s birth certificate is false.
If the opinion polls are to be believed, AV will be rejected by a large majority.

  3. Edward,
Whatever its theoretical merits, it keeps being rejected. Not that it will matter to its proponents.
As ofr Mallick…..ick….such a hateful person.
Nice of Johnathon Kay to do that. I am sure Heather is breaking out her Thesaurus now.

  4. I am wondering where Malack gets all that hate? I think something nasty must have happened to her in her growing up years. She is not normal. I don’t know why anyone would bother reading her bizarre rants.

  5. We won. Heather Mallick lost. Heather Mallick is hateful, and her hate will be exposed. Alternately we will be clicking the “ignore” button for four years.

  6. Poor, poor Heather Mallick. Her side lost and now is the time to spit out venom like a spoiled teen-aged prom queen. Bush now has warmth and intellect and it is Stephen Harper, not Michael Ignatieff, who is the American? How does she imagine this stuff?
When this vile woman slides into obscurity, I shall not miss her.

  7. …Canadian progressives also have been outraged by Mallick…
I’ve seen no evidence of that, although it’s a nice thought.

  8. Writes hateful hag Heather: “[The Conservatives] have a huge advantage in terms of the amount they can solicit in corporate donations [huh?] (which are now illegal; the Conservatives have in fact no plan to change this, just to force parties to raise money from their own supporters) [emphasis mine].
What planet is this harridan living on?
Imagine! A political party being asked “to raise money from their own supporters” rather than soak the hard-working taxpayers!!!!! That seems like the most sane, common-sense arrangement I can think of for political parties to remain intact.
On Planet What’s-Yours-is-Mine, Heather would like every citizen of Canada to shell out support for political parties they don’t vote for. She’s against corporate handouts but has no problem with handouts to political parties — which the Liberal$ and the Bloc have heavily relied on, because neither party seems to have much grassroots support.
Heathen Malice accuses Prime Minister Harper of being “a famously strange man.” I guess in her orbit he is. From my vantage point, it’s she who’s in stranger-than-strange outer space.

  9. Well, we need to actively hit her where it hurts. If the Left wants to call us ‘reactionary’, so be it – let’s react. Wherever an article of hers appears, we inform the advertisers who are associated with that paper/magazine/whatever, why we will not be purchasing their product any longer. They’ll in turn give feedback to the paper, who will take notice. This can be very effective, if for example, there were some well-read conservative website which became a clearinghouse for Heather’s articles, shown with lists of advertisers and their contact info.

  10. Someone should sue the Guardian for defamation. The only reason they publish this hatred is because it helps in the struggle.

  11. Harper should sue her for libel, here and in England alas she’s crossed some libel lines in my opinion.

  12. From the Star commenting guidelines;
Do not make comments that are threatening, obscene, profane, contain hate speech or degrade others.
Except of course, if you’re a columnist

  13. Heather Mallace is asking for attention, sue the sorry ass, that’s malicious stuff.

  14. In a union the chief shop steward can threaten to pull your union card for violations of solidarity, causing you to lose your job.
I’ve heard of band chiefs threatening to pull the treaty card and banish fellow band members from reserves.
It is a pity that this progressive idea is not extended to leftist reporters/journalists who are a threat to the ‘integrity’ and ‘professionalism’ of the collective.

  15. Heather…my plan for Proportional Representation:
3 votes, sucks oxygen, pays fed income tax and property tax.
2 votes, suck oxygen and pay Fed. income tax.
    1 vote, sucks oxygen.
H Mallick -100 for sucking oxygen.

  16. Heather Mallick is mentally deranged.
I wonder what medication she forgot to take before she wrote that column.

  17. I notice in the comments of that article that there is now some issue with FPTP. I don’t recall much outrage against it when the liberals received a massive majority via 38% of the popular vote and an Ontario sweep.

  18. Please stop clicking on her articles it helps her. Ignore this professional troll.

  19. Her tears are sweeter than refined sugar. she is writing for the Dhimmitards of Britanistan, so I wouldn’t worry about any influence she has with the Eloi presently being consumed by Muslim Morlocks.

  20. Speedy…nice proposition about the number of votes. However, I would respectfully suggest that only individuals who fall under category 3 and 2 be given an actual vote…since they’re paying their way. Freeloaders, should never be given a say in determining who runs the show.

  21. I love Heather Mallick’s prose. She’s clearly very intelligent, very talented. She used to write a column for the Globe and Mail called “Things I Bought (?)”, which taught me about lampes berger and Mr. Clean sponges, which are dead useful. She’s also bat**** crazy. I suspect she’s heavily medicated, or at least I hope she is. She must find it very difficult to navigate a world full of inherently evil fat people who are not from Toronto. So congratulations, Heather Mallick, for keeping it together as long as you have. It can’t be easy to be you.

  22. It is hard to believe that any media would actually pay for this trash talk. Unless Miss Mallick writes as a hobby..I might be wrong. Too bad.

  23. Favil Don’t want to be accused of not being fair. Sort of a Big Tent type of thing. I learned that from the guy that switched to red runners to avoid more tooth marks on the Guccis.

  24. Eskimo said:
    “Heather Mallick is ugly.”
    You need a second opinion.
    Wait for it…….
    Second opinion says, “you’re correct”.

  25. Think of it this way: Who but Heather could compete with the home-grown guardianista’s legendary level of bat$h*t and pull it off?

  26. Let’s give her the benefit of the doubt now, folks. She does appear to have a mental illness of some sort, and we should show compassion for her disability and her resulting inability to function in the real world. Would that her employer was as compassionate and sent her to whatever employee assistance program they have to get help. They have some marvelous medication nowadays to help stabilize people suffering from mental illness.

  27. I was taught never to use the C word around women. Mallick is a C word.

  28. Well, well..well… That Mallick person again.
That CBC article referred to regarding Sarah Palin and her family so outraged many of us we wrote to both ‘herselfness’ and the CBC to voice our outrage.
Seems she moved from the CBC to The Toronto Star or somewhere equally left and now, it appears, she writes for The Guardian??
So, we are expected to be abused by these verbal assaults on our senses , all the while real questions are raised in the mind of serious political observers.
If Ms. Mallick’s writings are to be used as criteria, surely she cannot be taken seriously in any way as a political observer or an observer of any kind whatsoever. It appears the only purpose of her articles is to spew her left wing hatred for all things decent and right about people and politics.
Just who makes the decisions to print such garbage?
Meanwhile, in the adult and real world:
Mr. Layton’s ‘historic’ win of 102 seats brings many more questions regarding tactics and ground game regarding just how the NDP realized such a result. I think many questions will arise regarding the details. Already this morning, questions about the gal winning a Quebec riding while taking a Vegas vacation.
We all know that for the left, especially in the US, tactics and questionable processes are part of their history. Basically they don’t care how a win is won, just that they win.
With Elections Canada’s questionable decisions regarding vote mobs and Flash mobs ( Guelph voting station “unauthorized” but allowed to be counted, raising the spectre of double and sometimes triple voting) certain tactics ring a familiar bell.
It would not be a surprise to find US left help and advice , not to mention money, played a significant part in the outcome for the NDP.
In the meantime the left love to leave those who excel in nasty rhetoric to litter the political and social landscape with such refuse as the articles by Heather Mallick , Michael Moore, The Huffington Post, Left Canadian media outlets ( Terry Milewski and his remarks comes to mind ) and other left wing organizations whose pronouncements are seldom questioned.
Nor are they forced to back up their accusations and wild charges with any verification whatsoever.
With this example of complaint of these kinds of tactics by the likes of Mallick and others I hope we are all becoming much more vocal in insisting this kind of hateful comment is roundly and soundly refuted and reviled.
You know, the literary equivalent of Grandma’s trip to the bathroom with little Johnny and a bar of soap!

  29. What’s the ugliest part of your body?
    Some say your nose
    Some say your toes
    I think its your min…ind…your min…ind
Sorry, can’t remember who did that song.

  30. The Guardian is a Muslim Fascist morning paper and Jonathan Kay thinks George Monbiot is a working windmill. What a poor example! we are DOOMED#:(

  31. I don’t think that I have ever seen such a vile attack on any of the Liberal PMs by anyone on the right, have you?

  32. LOL…..we should all put in complaints to the human rights commissions. I won’t hold my breathe on anything getting done though…..

  33. Heather Mallick is a talentless, unpatriotic you know what.
    (it rhymes with hunt)

  34. Speedy: what’s not fair about letting the people who pay make the decisions? If you pay for the gas in your car…aren’t you the one who decides where to go with it? Do you let a hitch-hiker you pick up to decide where you’re going–even if it’s somewhere you don’t want to go?

  35. Malickious types: “Husband Todd((Palin) looks like a roughneck”
But, Malickious also gushed, about Henry Morgentaler! : ” For this nice – and, dare I say it, sexy – man”
I know psychotropic medication can interfere with vision, BUT, it’s supposed to prevent hallucinations.

  36. What a deranged whackjob of a human eing.
She should be put on suicide watch given the level of cheap, petty, vindictive, gutter level anger she so amply displays.
She must be so sad that her world is collapsing.

  37. Another example that true evil can reside behind the facade of “boyish” good looks….

  38. Excellent letter from Jonathan Kay to The Guardian!
Mallick seriously needs to have her head examined. Pity.

  39. Mallick is a hired gun for the liberal party … she represents everything that voters have rejected about progressive canada …
Her angry temperament will eventually manifest itself into an unfortunate psychological state that requires prescription drugs and years of therapy …
get well soon Heather … and keep attending those anger management sessions …. don’t give up

  40. Lest we forget – this from Wikipedia:
“On November 20, 2009, Dion’s outspoken wife Janine Krieber wrote a scathing letter on her Facebook page in which she suggested that the Liberal Party was in full collapse and the future appeared bleak.[116] She questioned Michael Ignatieff’s ability to lead the party out of its current woes, alleging that party members were duped by Ignatieff and would have recognized his obvious shortcomings if they’d only taken the time to read his academic writings. Krieber claimed that Dion was working to rebuild the party after the disappointing 2008 election, but their efforts were stymied by Ignatieff, who turned down the coalition with the other opposition parties, and who ‘dethroned Dion without a leadership race'”.
Stephane Dion would have made a bad PM but he is a decent and courageous man.

  41. I know Heather’s body type, I am certain she has a lot of dark hair on her back, I believe that is the source of her vitriol.
Heather must shave her back to look feminine. Heather is a razor-back. A razor back is a pig with very spiny hair on it’s back,
Are you getting my drift here?
Heather is an ugly pig with personal issues.

  42. She started out doing ‘book reviews’ at the Toronto Sun. She didn’t seem to mind working for down scale then.
She moved on to the CBC-a real outrage, considering tax dollars fueled her vitriol.
Now, after the Globe, she is at her rightful home, The Toronto Star.
She and Haroon would make a perfect E-Harmony match.
