Gaddafi is, was no Saddam Hussein. He didn’t kill his people en masse and he never invaded anyone. 42 years of typical Arab tribal leadership. They ain’t New York City folks.
He was far less repressive to the Libyan people than the Kingdom of Saud the friend of the west, I know I lived in Libya for 5 years and frequented Saudi Arabia often from there. Yes Libya is a shit hole, but no different than any Arab nation – Tunisia on my list as the best of the bunch, I also lived in Algeria for 2 years to know what was good and bad about it, a far more closed society.
None of it warrants the “Nobel Prize Winners” bombs and predator drones. The hypocrisy, dirty deals and use of our money for this campaign on a civil war is absolutely unconscionable.

We on the other hand take the flack in tax money for restructuring, the blood of our young people and the full sponsorship of rebuilding the North African dark ages.

It is simply not in our national interest to be in Libya. QUite frankly I don’t care what the Euros do with Quadfly I simply don’t want our pilots or troops involved, or spend any money. Iran is slowly drawings its noose around Iraq and Afganistan will go which ever way Pakistan wants it to. If Canadians are upset with $1.40 gas then their concern should focus on Saudi Arabia. Its security is wavering undere an Iranian onslaught.
