  1. Okay, sorry Kate, but I just don’t get it. SDA comes up on the first page of Google searches because it’s so popular, right? And this spam artist is trying to convince you to advertise in another way, right? But you don’t need to, because SDA remains extremely popular on google for free, right? Is that the gist?

  7. Roger I don’t know much about it but I think it is the search requests are literate and specific for the most part.
    HuffPo has so many keywords that a search hits at least some of them. AOL paid lots for that but I think it will lead to people filtering HuffPo.
    Kate’s lines are classic and get to the meat.
    Please correct me if I missed the boat too.

    Yes, it’s a bit of an inside-joke-for-geeks post.
    I read the majority of my mail by logging directly into the server. Tried mutt, prefer pine as my fingers are programmed in pico.

    I used Pine for years until on new *nix builds with their newer libs prevented me from installing Pine 4.6x.   Since then I’ve move to ‘Alpine’, the improved Pine.   Alpine uses the same .pinerc and includes ‘pico’.   Mutt’s OK.   I use it on my local machines to read root’s mail.

  24. Fair enough; gmail does an excellent job of blocking spam, but I suppose that’s quite a bit different than trying to sort through random fan/hate mail. Although by using their webmail client you’re still sorting through it on the server side, and their filtering functions can take care of at least some of the sorting for you. Not saying there’s anything wrong with Pine – I’m just amazed that anyone would be using it in a nation with broadband capability.
