  1. I’m flashing on that pic of SH in the vest and cowboy hat for some reason…
    ROFL!
    Shootout at the PMO Corral…

  2. I don’t get the excuse about needing networks. The two simply need to rent a meeting room at the local Ramada and agree to have a third party video the debate and upload it to Youtube.

  3. Count Ignatieff:
    You Sir are a Poltroon!
You have insulted my Royal Russian Family!11!!
Choose the conditions of a duel for HONOUR.
    PM Harper:
    Pistols over a Hankerchief, Count!
(historically the one challenged had the option to choose the conditions for the duel)

Stephen will eat him raw, after all he is an economist and these are trying economic times.

  4. Oh what a man – what a man’s man!
Imagine all the Lefty pencil necked, weak kneed geeks that just physically fell in love with their new strong man Iggy.
Sorry to tell ya homo’s but he really didn’t mean it! It’s a pathetic attempt at political strategy to make Iggy appear bold and leader like. The fix was already in the game as Harper pointed out, as per earlier agreements. Of course no surprise that a pathetic opportunist like Iggy would not stick to “his word” and try to launch off Harpers honour.

  5. You, me and two pistols at dawn…
    Guns in your cities.
    In Canada
We did not make this up.
Has a nice Liberal ring to it, wouldn’t you say.
Oh yeah, I forgot duelling is against the criminal code in Canada; but maybe the Count may find that sportingly Russian!
Of course everyone is delighted to see Canada’s duelling candidates…
Duelling is illegal in Canada, pursuant to statute 71 of the Criminal Code which states:[31]
    Everyone who:
    (a) challenges or attempts by any means to provoke another person to fight a duel,
    (b) attempts to provoke a person to challenge another person to fight a duel, or
    (c) accepts a challenge to fight a duel,
is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years.
The last known fatal duel in Canada, in Perth, Ontario in 1833, saw Robert Lyon challenge John Wilson to a pistol duel after a quarrel over remarks made about a local school teacher, whom Wilson ended up marrying after Lyon was killed in the duel.
After Lyon’s death, Wilson and his second Samuel Robertson were both charged with murder in Brockville, Ontario, though acquitted. Two years later he married Elizabeth Hughes and they had three children together; he went on to become a judge and Member of Parliament before dying in 1869.
I believe we have a Canadian precedent!

  6. He’s a bad man. Will Tina Turner be moderating?
(This tough-guy routine is okay with The Count, but think how much fun we could have with Justine “Zorro” Trudeau in charge. I could see him actually flipping out and challenging Harper to a duel. I’m really looking forward to it.)

  7. Yesterday the Winnipeg Free press had an article by Dan Lett where he compared Iggy’s new momentum to Mohamed Ali’s rope a dope strategy. I thought these guys loved Ig’s Ivy league academic persona now he’s a tough guy? the article was so goofy I couldn’t finish it. needless to say WFP, has no shame, all liberal, all the time.

  8. “You, me and two podiums”? Who could make that up? Its like he thinks he’s in a movie or something. I couldn’t hope to parody that in a million years.
I guess there’s more idiots like Special K out there after all. I wouldn’t have thought that possible, but it seems they’re all working in Iggy’s war room writing this Twilight Zone schtick for him.
It’d be funnier if they didn’t aim to bankrupt the country.

  9. The four-party debate will do fine, thanks, one wasted evening per election is about all most of us can handle.
I’m sure Iggy is a smooth talker after all those years in academia, but he’s talking mostly Liberal mythology these days, the usual stuff about Canadian values, how we’re going to transform the world by showing up (in canoes), and the rest of the balderdash that never ceases to impress the Canlit crowd and anyone else without a life.

  10. All this hoopla over something billed as a debate but is actually just a coalition of desperate political hustlers trying to appear clever and score big by firing off questions laced with barbs, at the Prime Minister.
If it’s like the last one, it will serve to showcase the buffoons and prove Stephen Harper is the only man for the job,the rest are tidbit players.

  11. The man (much like Bucky Dithers) has become a slave to cliche overuse, and over the top rhetoric.
He, like the slobbering entourage that follows his musings, fails to see the irony of his out loud thinking.
On the one hand, he says he wants a philosophical debate, but yet he does so with what he hopes is the next cool catchy cliche.
One past example of Iggy’s attempt at wordsmithery:
“A coalition if neccessary, not neccessarily a coalition.”
The contention of Iggy’s “intellegence” because he attended all the best schools, lacks an essential component once you realize what his major was.
He learned how to tell stories.
All his celebrated education relates to finding that perfect headline.
Which is great if you want to tell everyone what you think…sort of like the same qualifications needed to start a blog.
Which brings me to this observation.
Kate has the same level of qualifications without having wasted money on Harvard, and the product delivered is far superior.

  12. Hello Kate. The Bourque Newswatch site that you link under the News Aggregators category has become ridiculous. Everybody needs exposure to opposing opinions but Bourque has descended to pathetic nonstop shilling for the Liberals, especially since the federal election campaign started. You should consider replacing him with another aggregator site. Here’s a suggestion (no it’s not my site and I don’t know the people running it):

  13. You know, on second reading that Iggy quote actually comes across as more romantic than aggressive.
“A pair of podiums beneath the bough,
A jug of wine, a loaf of bread, and thou.”

  14. “A pair of podiums beneath the bough,
A jug of wine, a loaf of bread, and thou.”
Thanks Ellie….Made me spew my morning coffee, but it was worth it to have a great laugh. Somehow, I conjured up a picture of Iggy and some tree boughs, a jug of wine and…..

  15. “I think Mr. Ignatieff is showing he’s not a true democrat,” Layton told journalists.
Some parties seem to be flinging about accusations left and right regarding their interpretations of democracy.

  16. Me and you and a dog name Coalition…
    FYI,
Harper announced yesterday the end of taxpayer funded parties if elected with a majority…To be phased out in three years.

  17. “I should have been a pair of ragged podiums,
Scuttling across the floor of silent seas…”

  18. Harpers Soliloquy
To debate, or not to debate–that is the question
Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous media
Or to take voice against a sea of socialists.
    With apologies to W.S.

  19. CJ at April 2, 2011 7:01 AM:
Are you referring to that Bourque website that refreshes itself every 240 milliseconds (check the source HTML), thus ensuring many unintended “hits” from its visitors?
I’d do the actual math myself but my HP-11c isn’t back from the shop yet and I don’t remember how to do non-RPN mental calculations.

  20. I think he meant to say:
    “You, me & two Immodiums”
I guess when you are as mentally, morally and intellectually constipated as Liberals are, your desperation for relief knows no bounds.

  21. Iggy (true to Liberal philosophy) actually said:
“you, me and two per diems…”

  22. i recollect that in the story ‘Scaramouche” an older gentleman with very bad eyesight was challenged by a young ‘blade’….as the code duello insists the challenged party has the right to place and choice of weapons…
the myopic old gentleman chose a darkened cellar and woodcutters axes.
in this scenario my imagination sees them facing off over a grand piano for PMSH and a harpsichord for the count(a debator can only speak when tickling the ivories….)…..and kate situated between them and the audience with a snare drum for accenting when a score , ‘a very palpable hit’ occurs or when a howler or groaner is committed…..and perhaps la shaidle with a kazoo for a rhythm section…

  23. The GOOD, the BAD and the COALITION.
Coming to a spaghetti western near you.
    In your cities.
    In Canada.
We are not making this up.

  24. I’m not surprised he’d want two podiums, one for his massive ego and one for the Liberal Media that’s so far up his arse you can see Fluffle head’s shoe size and CTV’s logo.

  25. “I’m flashing on the picture” of Count Eyebrows face when he was caught skinning his pocket mole.

  26. Forget this wimpy stuff… Two pols enter; one pol leaves!!! (And Jack, Gilles and Liz can provide the pigsh*t to power the lights and cameras.)

  27. This man is truly unhinged! Just what most of our MSM loves, remember da proof is da proof, or a wimp with a dog named Kyoto. These limp dicks are sadly liberal heros. Canada need to understand that globall warming is not dead, the method of extracting money has taken a subtler route, hence the extreme urgency for Count Iggulas bringing down an honest Harper govt. Iggul has been told by the Sunsteins Jones etc to destabalize Canada, well here we are. On the bright side, if by some slim chance this lunatic ever seized power, there would be a big business in opening Battered Lieberal Voter Shelters, all the Wentes and Simpsons etal would soon be in one.

  28. this Iggy sideshow of posturing and prodding is reminding me more and more of that video of the skinny little bully taunting the big chubby kid. One of these days he’s gonna get it but good….and get his a** whipped in a one-on-one and during election day. I truly hope Harper just gets it over with and says BRING IT ON, wimp.

  29. Upon further consideration, Count Iggula does have one small point in all this schlock. Given that this is a two party election due to the looming likelihood of the Lefty/Commie/Watermelon/PinkoBlockhead Coalition, there’s no point in having Jack, Gilles and Rin Tin Lizzy in the leaders debate.
Stevie, the Count, two axes and a dark basement. Winner is the one who doesn’t have his shirt tucked into his underwear.

  30. Big Words from a guy who stuffs his shirt into his underwear. I can see the adhesive tape on his glasses from my house.

  31. I love Iggy’s constant harping about “democracy”. Didn’t the liberal backroom boys just go and get him, in the US, dust him off, and “presto”,,,the second coming of PET!! By the way, I too used to read Bourque. He’s has gone stark raving ridiculously liberal mad.I deleted it from my list and you should as well.
