Related thoughts: Twitter does serve one useful purpose. It separates the politically obsessed and chronically underemployed from the real people who have lives. Accordingly, an observation for politicians: Do you know how many of my real-life regular folk voting friends are on Twitter? ZERO.
max at 11:39 PM, when’s the last time he covered the “denialist” science on global warming? Just askin’, cause I’ve been TV-less for just over six years now. I do miss a bit of stuff, like this latest example of CBCs neutral staff, but all told, I’m quite happy to be able to have the full range of opinion on issues at my disposal via the web, rather than filtered via the talking heads on TV.
Contact the CBC Ombudsman – I have about one her previous tweets and he directed her manager to investigate and get back to me. At the very least it lets them know that they are being watched and managers have to spend their time preparing reports to the Ombudsman. It is a tactic prisoners used in WWII camps – the purpose was less about escaping, but keeping the guards busy so that they could not contribute to the war effort.
I did it with CBC’s inaccurate reporting about the long form census and I got results – it has been a long time since CBC has reported that the long-form census was discontinued.

This guy is not the science-friendly optimist his public image might promise. Read his blog and you’ll find that he’s a card-carrying embittered Suzuki-ite. In other words, the exemplary CBC science “reporter”.
And he is NOT a scientist. He has a degree in journalism and (haha) theatre.

On a side note, has anyone else noticed that the CBC’s Voter Compass test seems to heavily favor the Liberals? I took the test and answered no opinion and neither agree or disagree to eveything and voila’ “I’m a Liberal!”
What a shock. I’m glad my taxes are going to the CBC who tell me that I should be voting Liberal.
I’m not as down on twitter as i used to be since I got an Ipad and downloaded the Flipboard app. It makes checking Twitter and blogs that tweet their content pretty easy to follow. That said if you are a politician the people that are following you aren’t going to win you a seat. Your time is better spent pounding the pavement and knocking on doors.
