What distinguishes Palin from other conservative leaders in the US and makes her an important figure worldwide is her indifference to the views of the Left’s opinion makers. Her capacity to steer debate in the US in a way no other conservative politician can owes entirely to the fact that she does not seek to win over Leftist elites. She seeks to unseat them.

Yee is disliked by many San Franciscans, including many Asians. The Board of Stupidvisors appointed Ed Yee as interim mayor, in part, to derail Yee’s potential run for the office next year. At the very least, they wanted to deprive him of the “first Asian mayor” title.

I found the condescending attitude of many conservatives re: Sarah Palin calling out the media about the Tucson murders , appalling and heartbreaking. Why would some conservatives take the low road? So they look ‘good’ to the human haters (left wingers) by comparison? Sarah Palin was defending them and the panty waists did not have the internal fortitude to defend her to the MAX. Interesting. Envy, one of the seven deadly sins….if Sarah was a ‘pant suit’ with a ‘grey flannel’, out of shape hubby and 2.2 pudgy kids: what would the milquetoast conservatives say?

If she is discredited for standing up to blood libels then no one in the US or anywhere else can expect to succeed in moving past the failed and dangerous leftist policy agenda. I remember the squishy feeling that predominated toward the Jewish people right after WWII. The msm of the day spoon fed us ‘guilt’ because those people were rounded up and killed and ‘we’ didn’t stop it! My Dad asked the burning question: Why didn’t the Jewish people fight? Why did they allow themselves to be herded on to trains? Why did they believe the Nazis when they took away their guns and property? The msm took it upon themselves to judge all of us for not defending adults who refused to defend themselves. The msm stuck to that story until the Seven Days War when Isreal won with better soldiers and better fire power – the worm (msm) turned – now the msm demonize the Jewish people and fawn over the boiling masses in Lebanon!! The msm are against all freedom loving people and they ‘push’ the guilt on to the shoulders of people who want to live their own lives – the msm does not want people to be ‘isolated’ or ‘disengaged’ from the ‘currant affairs’ – their version of currant affairs! The president of US (Barry Hussain) had his wife say as much for him – she said that Barry would not allow people to not be engaged…the Bolsheviks made all the people in Russia go to political, group thinkie thingies every night after work…the reds don’t want people doing things on their own!
Defiance is an excellent word – thumbing ones nose at ‘controllers’ is gratifying. I am a tobacco smoker and telling the greenie health freaks that I enjoy smoking is truly gratifying. I do enjoy smoking; I have been run down by a hit and run driver and left to die with big bleeding gouges, broken leg, punched out knee cap, concussion, broken back, broken arm, broken shoulder, massive bruses…got over that (smokes dulled the pain), ten years later I had a brain aynurism while hiking in the hills of Dawson City – lived four days with a dripping brain vessel, smoking helped kill the screaming headaches; my sane surgon told me to smoke if it helped! Smoking might kill me – something will, that is for sure!! Life is risky and I choose to enjoy what I have left…does this ‘offend’ anyone?
I will forever defend Rush and what he is entitled to say – he says things that I agree with. People made fun of me when I had a limp, they did it because I listed like a sailing ship in the wind – it was funny! The Chinese language sounds funny to our ears, I had a Chinese student who shared many laughs with me over both of our languages. Humour is the antithesis of hate. ET, by backward I mean among other things that Chinese is not nearly as efficient as English for communicating complex ideas. I have read that the language (particularly in written form) is excessively hard to learn even for Chinese, yet all the extra difficulty is *not* because the language is more powerful – it is unnecessary complexity.
You appear to be placing Chinese on a very high pedestal. By your analysis, Zulu would be an equally good language as well.
Luckily, middle-class Chinese all consider learning English to be very important.
I have extremely well-educated colleagues in the engineering field who are 100% fluent in multiple languages, and every last one of them tells me that by far and away they prefer English.
For example, one of my colleagues (Swiss) is completely fluent in both English, German and French, and he tells me that he finds writing in German agonizing compared to English. And this happens to a a very intelligent (and rather famous) individual indeed.
I am fluent in English and French, and I can clearly see the additional flexibility in English that is not available in French. Plus French nouns have gender which is an old concept that has been shown to be nothing other than overhead.
So no, I don’t think all languages are equal as you do.
