  1. Just wait until Brussels demands access to the Canadian market for European dairy products. It’s currently illegal under Canadian law to even make that a subject for negotiation. That will be the death knell of any trade talks with the EU.

    1. “It’s currently illegal under Canadian law to even make that a subject for negotiation.”

True, but “selective enforcement” is a thing, right? If some random drunk can get a suspended sentence after killing a kid and maiming her mother, then the #Lieberals can quietly kick Le Quebecois cow farmers under the bus.

      1. ahem.
that’s ‘autobus’ pronounce ‘boose’ as in ‘goose’ as in our ‘goose’ is cooked.

    2. Beat me to it.

Although I do think it will remain illegal to touch supply management for the evil, imperialists right next door but, somehow, the Greatest Economist Ever (TM) will think it fine for the glorious utopia 5000 miles away.

  2. Carney is an unrepentant, inveterate, narcissistic, pathological liar. He is not to be trusted by anyone, even his family because it is all about him and no one else. If you can gauge the financially beneficial path for Carney in any of his statements, you will be to ascertain what the truth is, despite the “shade” and obfuscations that he throws.

  3. So here is what an “associate member” would look like. Unelected parasitic, Commies in Brussel would rule over Canada and as a non-member we will not be permitted a vote.
That is Carney’s idea of protecting our Sovereignty?

    1. Hmm, ruled over by a distant, parasitic government where I don’t get a vote?

Sorry, what are we talking about again?

    2. The EU is a Club and Canada Ain’t in It

The Canadian prime minister’s charm offensive has failed to sway governments wary of preferential trade access…but first and foremost the member states should be the ones to express what kind of relationship the EU wants to have with ANY THIRD COUNTRY.

        1. And possibly your kids (or you, if you’re the right age). The Euros, thus far failing in their attempts to get the U.S. involved in a shooting match with Russia, are now pretty determined to forge ahead…they want to be able to invoke Article 5 so very badly (but there is a bit of a problem with that, so EU — & Associates — Army to the rescue!).

And yes, it has to do with the shell game they’re playing with finances; they really are a sick bunch of bastards.

    3. I seem to recall that the 13 colonies put an end to that association back in 1776.
Then after that dust up, the parasites came north and renamed themselves United Empire Loyalists.

      1. when the topic came up in grade school the loyalists were portrayed as woeful refugees, set upon by those infernal yanks, their lands seized (well what do they expect? act like foreign landowners like in rule britannia? guess whut ‘loyalists’ THT WHY THE F’ING REVOLUTION IN THE FIRST PLACE)

methinks this was one time the LOSERS wrote the history.

  4. Pierre Poilievre tells Juno News that Canadians deserve answers on Mark Carney’s proposed EU alliance and what it could mean for Canadian sovereignty, trade and immigration.

LAZY!!! There’s Poilievre once again not doing the work. Conservatives don’t “deserve answers on Mark Carney’s proposed EU alliance.” They deserve conservative leaders who actually figure out what it will mean for “sovereignty, trade and immigration” and lead with that while taking a solid, understandable, and unifying position that a conservative movement can get behind.

You guys need to discard him entirely and find someone who actually believes what he’s saying instead of running to the first news camera so he can enlighten the masses with his face and absolutely nothing else.

I’ve got news for you. FAKE conservative leaders are more damaging than anything the Liberals can do to you. They prolong the Liberal’s opportunity, and discourage opposition in exchange for personal publicity. They’re garbage.

    1. They deserve conservative leaders who actually figure out what it will mean for “sovereignty, trade and immigration” and lead with that while taking a solid, understandable, and unifying position that a conservative movement can get behind

You mean like Max? There’s a reason he’s unelectable in this country. The Liberals have so thoroughly poisoned the cultural well that there’s no coming back from this. Anyone espousing any kind of sensible cooperation with the US will be exiled to the political wilderness for a generation.

We’ve already passed the Bezmenov limit. There’s no way back from here.

      1. Tell that to Alice Weidel. She’s the leader of the AfD party in Germany. And, while I don’t agree with everything she says, at least she’s saying it. The AfD party is under fire every hour of every day. They try to ban them. They call them a terrorist organization. They call them Bigots, Racists etc. And YET:

They pulled in a 43% minor majority in Saxony locals…..AND, they are in line to make HUGE increases in Berlin coming up.

I don’t know this “Max”. But, if he is the man, then at some point he needs to start leading and disregard the noise.

      2. ” Anyone espousing any kind of sensible cooperation with the US will be exiled to the political wilderness for a generation.”

He still has to at least TRY.

At that exile will be rather short if Canada stubbornly sticks to the self-destructive course it is on right now. Economic collapse of the sort we are facing would be the perfect opportunity for the vindication of an angry “We TOLD you so!…you just wouldn’t listen!”

      3. bingo. BINGO. l *suspect* a lot of swing voters deduce that PP & co. are NOT markedly different on a lot of issues that Carnage’s pack. thus ‘go with what ya know’ rules.
no. clear. lines. on the more import issues.

      1. OK … so PP says NO to the USA and NO to the EU … and that leaves only …
        Welcome to the work camps.

        1. Is he really saying ‘non’ to the EU? Or is this just for show?
Got to dance with person who brought you.

      2. “Didn’t take long for Pee Pee to turn into a disappointment.”

He’s been a disappointment for years now. He has utterly *failed* every test ever given to him…he was Liberal Lite, right from the start. I also have nothing but contempt for the people who have been making excuses for him and propping him up with the tired old “But you HAVE TO vote for Poilievre, or else the Liberals will win again!” mantra.

As always, Orson cuts through all the noise and lays out the truth as it really is.

    2. Hey Orson, did you listen to the interview with PP? Doesn’t sound like it. How is he supposed to find out what it will mean for sovereignty, trade and immigration when nobody is saying what an “associate member” is? Carney won’t say, the EU hasn’t said. Nobody knows because there never has been one before. Seems like you expect the opposition leader to have magic psychic powers.

      1. “Hey Orson, did you listen to the interview with PP? Doesn’t sound like it.”

Pierre Poilievre really does talk a good line, doesn’t he?

Problem is, that’s all he ever does: TALK. Vote for him and not one thing will ever change.

      2. Well, here’s the thing, Dirtman. This “Associative Member” status is a formality that is already in place. Canada has already joined the EU’s Defense Procurement initiative. Security Action for Europe (SAFE). Canada has already signed a formal Security and Defence Partnership to coordinate on geopolitical stability, crisis management, and military capabilities. Canada has already joined PESCO. They are the third-state participant in the EU’s Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) for defense projects.

Health Canada and the European Commission are actively aligning regulations to streamline product approvals, notably in biotechnology. Canada has started coordinating supply lines and stockpiles with the EU on critical minerals and energy. Canada is currently expanding coordination and cooperation on digital trade agreements, artificial intelligence governance, quantum technology, and cybersecurity with the EU. Canada became an associated member of Horizon Europe, integrating its national research and innovation programs with the EU. Currently there is a push into expanded university student exchanges and enhanced labor mobility frameworks between Canadian and European markets.

Here’s the short version. CANADA ALREADY IS AN ASSOCIATIVE MEMBER OF THE EU….and I just spelled out in just a handful of acts what that means. Canadian media doesn’t tell you these things. Instead, you are dependent upon people like Poilievre to do so. Only, he doesn’t. He claims ignorance and being uninformed when the information is available easily for all to see. He’s talking like it is about to happen, when it has ALREADY happened.

  5. But Trump is awful because he wants to make America great?
    This is the Canadian antithesis.
    WTF am I missing?

  6. Regarding Canada and the EU, why does “come into my parlor said the spider to the fly” seem appropriate?

  7. So what does associate member look like on the euro trash flag, a plus sign or something from the musqueam hyrogliphs?

    Free Alberta!

          1. But will that rainbow include the new pastel colors? After all … that old traditional, conservative rainbow born of only PRIMARY colors is so outdated. And the physics of it all is sooooooo … well … “white”.

Those colors need some shades of gray … at least 50 of em

      1. Maple leaf? In 2 generations the flag of Europe will be that arabic squiggle with a sword underneath.

      1. If you knew history, you would know that March 5 was the election after Hitler was appointed as Chancellor….the election where the NSDAP only managed to gather 44% of the vote. It was the last free vote in Nazi Germany. Sound familiar?

  8. pfffft. what so shocking about this? est-ce c’est possible les citoyens of europe FAILED TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD when buying into the notion of ‘one step closer to a one world gubbamint’?
hmmm? UNSURPRISING Carnage and the LIEberals ‘all for it’.
equally unsurprising hard core liberals keep VOTING FOR IT.

    1. Yeah … you might want to take that used car to a competent mechanic for a diagnostic evaluation …
      Before buying a lemon

      1. Is Carney looking to make Canada a pass thru to the EU like they want to do to the US? That would explain the opposition. They are all commies so something beneficial to China will be found.

        1. The Liberal Party has always been full of closet Maoists going back to Comrade Pierre Trudeau. No name in history has done more damage to Canada than Trudeau….both Pierre and that boy Justin.

  9. Canada to become an associate member of the EUSSR.

More government! Just what we need!

They all want our oil and gas and uranium and fertiliser and rare Earths.

Fortunately, there’s no business case to build the necessary pipelines, refineries, LNG plants and mines and smelters.

We will rename Lake Ontario Mediterranean Lake.

    1. “Fortunately, there’s no business case to build the necessary pipelines, refineries, LNG plants and mines and smelters.”

That’s fortunate, since the natives will refuse to allow pipelines and the Liberals and NDP will do everything in their power to block the rest.

  10. Let’s join a moribund economy that’s dying because of high energy prices and low productivity. What we need in Canada is to join an unelected cabal of Eurocrats that regulate the curvature of bananas. Protectionism? Ever tried to buy an American made car in Europe? What Europe wants (natural gas) we ain’t sellin’. There is no pipeline and no business case…

      1. the metaphor is very fitting.
herpes? you got it for LIFE. treat the symptoms. but like socialism/communism GO DOWN that PATH in an election, youre STUCK.

  11. The whole EU deal is nothing more than politically motivated BS. Carney, duplicitous little liar that he is, knows that very well. But he is also a clever politician.

Ignorant and childish Canadians have their knickers in a knot because Trump hurt their feelings. So just to get back at him they’re suddenly big Europhiles. The reality of the trade, defence and cultural connections with the U.S. are forgotten. It will take a lot of pain before the elbowzos come to their senses.

Poilievre can be criticized for walking a thin and ambiguous tightline, but given the mass temper tantrum of the voters it is basically impossible to talk sense and expect to survive an election.

    1. Well said, Jim. That is exactly the case here.

At this point, only an economic collapse will ever allow the election of a government that could have prevented it.

        1. “May be coming sooner rather than later. We’ll see.”

Sooner works for me. I’ve been waiting for years now for Canadians to come to their senses and reject the slow Liberal/NDP dismantling of our country.

          1. This would be global, and not a lot of fun for anyone. Kinda hoping we all avoid it, but again: wishes are not the same as possibilities.

  12. Why would Canada want to subject itself to a dying fascist dictatorship? The UK joined and somehow French fishing boats fished all their waters. A trade deal with the EU sure but let’s have nothing to to with their business killing bureaucracy.

    1. Canada and the EU elite , hate populism and any leader that can associate with an electorate that wants some common sense out of their government and bureaucracy, as well as some accountability.
It does chop me when the elite drop the word democracy, and not once do you hear the word freedom ever.
Carney makes me puke he’s so vile.
He fits right in with that corrupt EU pile of crap.
He’s either baffling Canadians with BS or up to no good.
But he is a natural parasite.

      1. The left has a very different definition of democracy than we do. It’s why the left uses the phrase “a threat to our democracy” whenever it encounters freedom lovers.

        1. Yes, whenever you see the word “our” in front of “democracy”, the question that should follow is what is their definition of “democracy”.

    2. Nobody asked me!
In a real country they would put it to a plebiscite…
Thankfully, in October, I DO get a say, to someone asking the question!

The UK were smart enough to escape the EU by the skin of their teeth and they are only 20 miles away!
How can you expect to be governed from another country 5000+ miles away that has no connection to your culture/norms? How is some politician in Brussels going to tell a farmer in Saskatchewan what his wheat is worth?
The west finally got over that policy and now they want to do something whacky again!

    1. occurs to me THAT is precisely the *actual* plan. everything else, just a form of ‘gift wrap’.
remember when Jimmy invited the woe begotten koobans? and GOT the contents of
      mental hospitals jails and prisons?
nations may or may not, but individuals DO learn the lessons of history.

    2. Jeez, when you put it like that, all the Indians (the dot not the feather kind) don’t seem so bad now.
