Blog Notes

This was the view out my windshield for much of today.

I’ll be in and out of the blog over the next 10 days. Until I’m home from this circuit, you’ll be in the safe hands of the guest bloggers!

  1. It’s okay, Black Mamba. You see, Kate has to leave sometimes so she can bring home the bacon that we love so much.

  2. Long way from Home to Bonners Ferry, Kate. With probably miles to go before sleep. You going to spend any time in the 30% of North America that isn’t covered by snow?
Sounded like Rascal Flatts near Cranbrook. Yesss!
Have a safe and successful trip.

  3. If thats the hill going down into Bonners from the north it sure has changed since I retired from trucking. That sucker was barely more than 2 rigs wide and crooked as a dogs hind leg when I hauled through there.

  4. I’m glad to see that I’m not the only person who shoots movies of my drives. Don’t get too distracted doing so Kate, and have a safe drive.

  5. White knuckle driving. Two hands on the wheel, eh. Just think, global warming is going to fix all that. Cant wait.

  6. This is my neighbourhood. Creston is the banana belt of the Kootenays. That drive down into Bonners Ferry was upgraded at least 10 years ago. In fact Hwy 97(?) in Idaho and Hwy 3 in Canada out to Alberta has been slowly upgraded over the past 15 years. It is targeted as a major commercial corridor between Western USA and Western Canada.
Our daughter drove down from Calgary last night and experienced a 22 degree increase in temp on the way. Roads were great except for the stupid drivers you come across.

  7. Driving into Swift Current, with Fox News playing. Enough to annoy any lefty who drops by!
    Gotta love that satellite radio.
    Drive carefully, Kate.

  8. Good Lord Kate, I would kill myself trying to drive in that.
Cheer up Mamba, Kate’s looking for small dead animals.
Some of the best chili I ever made was from a deer hit by the truck in front of me.

  9. ct – Gotta love those Chinooks. Hopefully you were far enough out of the mountains the you just got the temperature and not the sand-blasting.

  10. Well dear, as long as you weren’t texting while driving…
Ahhh, to be young and able to do a long haul, and in the winter no less.
    Drive safely.
