Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
Think Forward BC NDP, September 2009;
“Today, the BC NDP has an opportunity to be more assertive in building a more effective, functional and relevant party for our members and our communities. We must ensure that representation at all levels of the party, including MLAs and candidates, reflects the full diversity of the province we live in.”
Globe And Mail, December 2010;
Six potential contenders to replace NDP leader Carole James
(Oops.) h/t TimR

Hahahaha, good one, Kate!~ and not even one woman in that group of whiteys, LOL
Remember fast ferries? Reason enough to never vote for these morons.
Ha ha!
I love it when the “progressive” mindset implodes due to the inherent contradictions of its beliefs!
Other great examples:
1. Social democracy for Venezuela / Presidente Hugo.
2. Julian Assange, grand crusader for transparency / Julian Assange, creepy rape suspect.
3. Bush and Gitmo / Obama and Gitmo.
4. The best one of all – feminist outrage over Islamic misogynism. Not.
I live in BC … the current level of stupidity plaguing the NDP party right at this moment is record breaking.
They dumped their leader who was not doing much of a job (thankfully) and didn’t have another waiting in the wings. Now all they have are factional reps from various levels of the communist population of the lower mainland and the island standing around scratching their balls, There are no women in the race anymore so that’s allowed.
Don’t be surprised if Corky Evans throws his hat in the ring. After all, clowns get along with everyone. He’s probably got a shot.
But don’t fear, commies and unionists, single moms, drug addicts, losers, etc … the Liberals are probably going to get left-of-center Christy Clark so it will all be the same anyway.
Just more proof that politics here in La La Land is all Loony, All the Time.
Must be the amount of social justice they add to the water.
Yes, Abe Froman is correct. Christy Clark will likely win, and she is a true Liberal. I’m hoping her hubby’s friend Stephane Dion comes out here to do some campaigning for her, so we can have a few laughs!
The rest of Canada should be ready to welcome a bunch of refugees from B.C. When you see the choices we have for government in this Province,it doesn’t give one much hope for common sense and reason to prevail.
George Abbott,at a meeting here last week, said he’d repeal the carbon tax immediately if he gets the nod. Unfortunately,Abbott doesn’t have the “star” power of Christy Clarke, and we all well know how people are drawn to a pretty face and big teeth.
Clark promises to hold an early election to cement her hold on the reins and start distributing our money to her pet projects and friends.
Oh well, it’s only a hundred million or so that’ll be spent needlessly, not real money.
“Christy Clark will likely win, and she is a true Liberal. I’m hoping her hubby’s friend ”
She is divorced from Mark and has her own Federal Liberal constituency.
She will have an uphill fight to win . . there is a lot of baggage in her Caboose and it will be exposed in the race. She also has a lot of enemies in the BC Liberal party who see her as more Federal Liberal than BC Liberal (Coalition) Party.
I’m thinking Falcon will win out if he doesn’t make any serious gaffs.
Hey, how about dropping in Green Lizzy Mae into the orange vat of socialism? It would be her one chance to get elected to anything and the RoC wouldn’t have to listen to her when the next fed election is called (sorry BC).
The NDP appear to be in a dilemma again.
It may be quite radical, but I wonder if the party could introduce something novel like electing their leadership on the basis of ability, talent or merit, rather than gender.
They might find that competence is actually an attribute worth striving for, given the abysmal record of NDP governments and their leadership.
Hold on folks, that group of wannabe BC-NDP leaders DOES exhibit “diversity” … 3 of these middle-aged white guys clearly DO have facial hair, and 3 of them DON’T. I rest my case.
Globe also has an article up about Christy Clark going for the Liberals.
He wants to pay good teachers more and less on the gee whiz stuff. According to the Globe’s poll he will kick butt if Canada votes.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/
I still want to know what is ‘new’ about the ‘new’ democraps.
JR wrote: “I wonder if the party could introduce something novel like electing their leadership on the basis of ability, talent or merit, rather than gender.”
Never happen. If they had any ability, talent or merit they wouldn’t belong to the NDP.
Abe, I live in BC too and hope the current crop of Liberal candidates have a series of brain farts over the few weeks.
We got Falcon reading to his kids, De Jong with a ‘secret’ (not) short bread recipe video and Abbott supposedly with a ‘Here come the People’ campaign slogan. Let the gaffs begin and continue.
And the Glib‘s so interested in the Kate’s ‘gender equity’ update link that they misspelled Carol or Carole James’s name in the photo or the poll question. Ha-ha.
OT
I haven’t been to the coast in a while, but years ago, we used to call it Hongcouver. Have all the Asians jumped off the BC ship? I have a hard time believing they’ve ‘jumped the shark’ and have all become Dippers. Anyone?
Forgive my ignorance regarding such subjects.
Come on, there’s quite a bit of diversity in that group. Hair colour, facial hair, glasses, etc. Look how they’re reaching out to that marginalized group.
Fred @ 12:22, I stand corrected on Christy Clark’s marriage. Shows how much I follow BC politics, since I “divorced” myself from reading the daily local newspapers and watching the local news…
The guy in the first photo seems to be going for that ‘Leon Trotsky’ look so popular with Lefty voters.
Viva the white male!!
NDP “Think Forward”???? Yesterday, someone here had the best solution, they should look for a transgendered leader. This would solve all their leadership problems.
Is there any chance BC Conservatives will come up the middle?
Oz, good point @ 2:01 and the resemblance is remarkable…although he also looks a lot like Felix Dzerzhinskii. Have you ever noticed how Taliban Jack bears a striking resemblance to Lenin. What is with these Marxists wanting to look like the 1917 Bolsheviks?
Methinks the BC NDP could show its inclusivness by going the longshot and electing a transgender for party leader.
Something like but not limited to… ‘Carole Was James’
…Hmm…can’t be any worse than what’s already on the ballot!
6 White Males running for a position that was officially slated to be occupied by a woman?
What more can one say than the current crop of BC NDP Intelligentsia are:
1. Sexists
2. Racists
3. Hypocrites
‘Nuff said.
Oz,I think that the first guy is Darcey from “Dust My Broom”.
Robert W., you forgot Idiots.
SDH, I chose to not state the obvious. đŸ™‚
P.S. My dilemma, as a BC voter, is that I don’t really like the alternative. The BC Liberals started off with some conservative principles but then after that they’ve done little to be fiscally responsible. They’ve shoved soooooooooo much money over to the public sector unions simply to keep the peace. But there’s absolutely no talk of shrinking the insane spending. The ONLY reason I vote for them is because they’re the least worse alternative.
Ahhhh! The White, it burns! It burns!!
Robert W . . . “P.S. My dilemma, as a BC voter, is that I don’t really like the alternative. ”
Exactly. If we break ranks with the non-socialist coalition, aka the BC Liberal Party, then we for sure end up with the skanks approved by the BC Federation of Labor, aka The BC NDP.
The impasse happens because both sides are really coalitions of groups rather than “pure” political parties.
So my plan is to continue to vote our side and work to cause the BC NDP Coalition to implode . . . time to “support” Vision Vancouver/BC with all their Hollyhock American Hippy money to believe they can flog Gregor at the provincial level. Have to split the urban moonbat progressives from the Mill working Labor boys.
Only when the Left fractures can we make demands on the non socialist parties to do the right thing on taxation, size of government etc.
Kevie Falcon, who promised no over head power lines in South Delta, then put them up anyway. He is hated here, but there is still no way that the ndp will get this seat.
Too bad, so sad.
Hoisted on their own retard.
The NDP has been good , very very good to whitey.
For tolerance spouter’s they sure keep their leadership vanilla.
Its probably a socialist thing.
JMO
All that money spent on Insight and now free heroin and the candidate pool hasn’t improved for either Party. Makes me wonder what the point is.
For all of you from BC, there is an alternative comes next election and it is the BC Conservative party.
They are NOT affiliated with the CPC and with them it is my hope that BC will go into a different future.
One can dream.
Miyra, I would love nothing more than a real conservative party in BC. But I’ve closely followed what has gone one with the BC Conservatives the past few years. Please let us know when it’s being run by adults, not bickering teenagers. Thank you.
Oz,I think that the first guy is Darcey from “Dust My Broom”.
There is a resemblance. But Darcey is Metis, which is basically “white with hunting rights”.
LOL Kate good one. The BC NDP sure do look like a white bread party in the left-coast to bad those fellas don’t have boobs but then again maybe they have man-boobs and could run as she/men or somethin?
Simplest solution is to neuter them all. If you can do it such a way as to remove all resemblance to either male or female.
Well boys, affirmative gender action is at stake here, which of you is going to stand down?
Seems a simple question to me.
What if Moe Sihota came out as a pre-op tranny? Good enough?
I’m good with that syncodox. When I say “I’m good with that” I just want to be clear that …
wallyj-3:07 PM
Yeah, looks a little like the few photos I’ve seen of Darcey.
I didn’t know Darcey was running for the NDP or lived in B.C. though.
Would one of these guys get a pass if he was gay or trans-gendered? Maybe they could use that for a loophole. (never mind, that sounds disgusting)
Gee lookin’ at that lineup I’m tryin’ to pick the “suspect”, seriously couldn’t be a NDP line up of hopefuls, doesn’t look anything like the “Village people”
Unfortunately
The BC conservatives are a sad bunch of kitchen politicians.
While living in Osoyoos, until November 2010, have helped one of the runners for a conservative nomination for federal seat, let’s say he is Michael. Did not work out. OK
Next, this particular gentleman got into conservative politics of BC. Helped a conservative candidate, let’s say he is Jose, after the said candidate run for Liberal position and won it, the politburo of the Liberal Party decided it shall be taken away because some comments Jose made about the emperor a few years back.
Anyway, Michael became vice president of BC conservatives, about 3-4 months later he quit due to things happening without the vice-president knowing nothing about the happenings, sort of behind your business.
Officially the conservatives decided to be opposed to the HST, unofficially they were telling everybody and their grandmother that they support it.
BC conservatives are kind of, sort of, more or less a joke.
For the time being they are in no way, no how a solid political force, just a kitchen variety babblers.
Awesome Kate! That one hit five of my search engines!
Robert W:
You’ve been away, and have not observed that closely I’d say.
Lev: I think it’s time you woke up and got your prescription calibrated.
Check the website conservativesbc.com to count the number of adults involved on the Board. I think many of the “teenagers” left before the October AGM when we elected a new Board.
Until we “grow up”, and, we elect a leader this spring, we have an advisory group comprised of Randy White, Brian Peckford, Rita Johnson, John Cummins, Daryl Stinson, Reed Elley, Jim Hart and quite a few others.
BC Conservatives will offer an alternative to BC voters and elect MLA’s
I should know, I’ve stayed out of BC politics until we said no to the FIBs in 2009 in Delta (North and South), and many like me who are active in municipal or federal politics, REAL activists, are involved and growing the BC Conservative Party with an emphasis on MLA’s accountable to their constituents!
Best to all who read SDA;
Long may Kate be untamed and the longest living of all political animals!
Jim Holt
Delta
A lifelong Conservative
Damn, how come BC gets to have all the fun again?
Not to start a debate here.
Holt talks like all the life long politicians. They are so sure that they are on the right track, come the next election they self destruct.
They live in never, never land of self admiring dreams.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
If they voted for Derek Corrigan than he wouldn’t be mayor of Burnaby anymore, and I live in Burnaby, so that would be excellent. Of course council would still be made up exclusively of union reps. On the matter of Corky Evans; who the hell is going to vote for a guy who goes around with the moniker “Corky”? I mean, really!
BC politics is truly upside down at the moment.
The Liberals have moved so far to the left, that they really more resemble the Manitoba NDP than the party first elected in 2001. A shell of their former selves. Their policies are hypocritical, on the one hand, the HST is largely a center-right policy, yet their regulatory/carbon tax agenda is right the path of Lizard May and her watermelons.
The NDP is fractured between their moderates, and the unionized goosestepping Nork squad.
And then we have a resurgence of the Conservatives, with a lot of quality, veteran operatives forming a backbone of a potential breakthrough….however, they need a few things to happen, to really bust out.
1—A charismatic leader to capture people’s imaginations.
2—A hot button issue to slay the Liberals
3—The Liberals to elect a Christy Clark leftard as leader.
4—The NDP to elect a hardcore jackboot radical.
Almost too much to hope for, for all those things to happen. Yet the Liberals are so tainted, and have turned so far to the left, it is very difficult to take them seriously anymore, from the way they handled the HST, to their carbon tax regulatory agenda. They have really just lost their way!
